Works great. I have the original and it's basically the same. One downgrade from the original is that it needs a power source. The original can be plugged into the TV with the USB connector.

So EASY to cast from my android. Haven't tried other non-android devices. But I have two cell phones and two VR headsets all android-based. All cast so easily and fluidly from the device to my TV. Going to be buying more! It is A LITTLE annoying to have to run this through the HOME app, but other than that works very nicely.

Most TVs sold nowadays are Smart TVs. I have upgraded several of mine to Smart TVs but still have a couple that are great pictures and want to get as much life out of them as possible. I switched to streaming only (dropped cable TV), and this Chromecast device works great. Saved a bunch of money dropping cable TV.

Upgraded to the ultra for the advertised faster processor/speed. So easy to install and use. Streaming the Apps to our TV has saved us over $200 a month, since we cut Comcast as a provider. No longer have to rush out to Red Box for the just released movies. Often, we have seen them weeks before by using 1 of the Apps and streaming to TV using our Google Chromecast Ultra.

I bought this for my living room TV which is a Smart TV, but several apps are not available for it. The Chromecast Ultra allows me to cast content from apps available on my phone to the big screen for viewing comfort and convenience. I also use Google Home and this allows me to turn the TV off and on using voice commands. Love it.

This is a great piece of technology. I use it to stream live TV using Sling TV since I don’t have regular cable and saved me a lot on cable bills. I also love the fact you can wirelessly stream videos you watch on your phone to a smart TV whether it’s online or videos and pictures saved on your phone, iPad or tablet. Highly recommend this item.

My main streaming device is the Apple TV 4K. Also as a former chromecast owner I knew alexactly what to expect. I got this product to integrate with google home and nest, it does the job.

With the advent and popularity of streaming apps this is the perfect item to navigate through all of the available streaming apps all in one item..... this is a great asset to any movie room or common area for TVs that do not offer all of the apps..... This item updates and is better than any smart TV update....

After spending about 8 hours trying to get desktop mirroring on my desktop computer this was an easy fix. The chrome desktop mirroring has some lag, however it at least works very easily. It took me about 10 mins to setup as there was a required update and then it just worked out of the box, which was a nice surprise since miracast was a pain.

My old chromecast was great. I used it on a daily basis and it worked flawlessly. When I saw the new version was 4k compatible and has a ethernet port, purchasing one was a no brainer. Everything runs just as well as the old version, with the added bonus of 4k streaming with a ethernet port so I have a strong signal with no loading worries. What's not to like?

Works well to stream 4k. Is not used often but good to have.
