For addition $7.00 per month you can subscribe to showtime or other premium stations.

However, I was under the impression that it cam with apps installed onto it, like Netflix, Amazon, Hulu, Sling, PS Vue, etc. which is why I give it 4 stars. I highly recommend for those who do not have smart TVs with such apps

It's a Chromecast

Pretty quick to buffer up to high quality 4K in the apps that support it. Not Google's issue, but it would be nice if more streaming services supported 4K via Chromecast. I've only experienced Netflix and Google Play Movies.

Excellent Streaming Device

This fixed it. And two main features it offers over and about what the TV does, are - desktop sharing, and google photos screensavers - I use them all the time.

This allows me to turn an old TV into a Smart TV

Now we’re cutting the cord and needed a way to watch our online shows or stream. So this was the best way to do so, and setup/use are simple as well.

Not a smart TV? no problem.

When the PS3 broke down I picked up the Chromecast and it picked up right where the PS3 left off. Minus the gaming of course, but I have a PS4 for that.

Great for streaming 4K

Right now I am using it at home. I have taken the older one with me to share videos in nursing homes on their television set for their residents. Works great in both applications.

Works right out of the box....

I also use it to integrate with my Google Home Assistant to allow me to turn on/off the tv or simply tell Google to play "XXXXX" on Netflix.
