Great Potential
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I really wanted this to be a perfect device, but the apps that were available for, namely Plex and Netflix, ruined it. And the remote control feels cheap, and noisy. Plex is unreliable and crashes fairly often. Netflix doesn't stream in surround, and per Netflix support, it's developed by Google and is something they need to fix. I know Android 5.1 is now available, so I'll be testing that out very soon. I'm hoping that is is much more reliable.

Best Streaming Device

I like the versatility of a Chromecast device and my wife likes the simplicity of a Roku. This is the best of both worlds.

Awesome Streamer!

Can do so much more then just stream shows

You can use it as a video game emulator, install a file explorer app and share files across multiple Android devices on your home network. You can use a USB on the go cable and add more external memory as internal memory and so much more. Love it, I actually have 2 at my home.

Great deal if you find it on sale
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I love my Nexus Player. In fact, this is the third one I have purchased. I'm not sure I'd be as happy with it if I had paid full price though. But if you can find one for around $50 is totally worth it.

First it only can turn off or on or control the device from the remote only. Second the casting is not working easy as any other casting devices.

Decent set top box

I don't see much advantage over the Amazon Fire TV, and frankly I miss having the build in blu-ray player that the GTV box had. If you don't have a set top box already, it's a decent choice.
