More variety than chromecast

Nice Player With Some Flaws
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.The Nexus player is a pretty neat product that offers some marginal improvements as opposed to the Chromecast. It's nice to be able to play stuff without having to grab my phone. It's nice to be able to browse things on the TV screen and not on the phone screen. So in these two ways it is an improvement on the biggest drawbacks I found with the Chromecast. On the other hand, it seems to crash some. About half the times I go to play media on it, I have to reboot it. And I'm not completely convinced that the improvements over the Chromecast are worth being 3x the price.

Great streaming media player

A great alternative to cable

It sometimes glitches and freezes additionally it doesn't have a traditional power off feature, but besides that does anything i was hoping of it to do.

The best streamer out there

I'm not sure why Google doesn't market it more, but it plays flawlessly and allows for easy streaming and games. I have the firetv also and prefer the nexus.

Would rather have just a chromecast

Since I had a coupon and this device was on sale, I decided to try this instead. It works exactly like a Chromecast + has a bunch of other features right? This device has crashed on me frequently, and you have to pull the plug on it to reset it. The UI is sparse and random and it only seems to want to slow me down with "recommendations" rather than allow me to get to the content I want to watch. This device without chromecast features would be 1 star for me. Save your money and just buy a Chromecast instead.
