I really enjoy using the Nexus Player running Android TV. The design clearly isn't a priority but it blends in with the rest of my TV media devices. The only two gripes I have is that it doesn't do great with multitasking. Play Music slows down intensive gameplay if they're running simultaneously. Also the small amount of apps available is disappointing. There is however the ability to sideload apps- which I have done quite a few times.

I really enjoy the nexus player setup and also purchased the remote for gameplay which my kids really enjoy. The only downside to the player is the remote will randomly unpair from the player causing the led on the remote to flash repeatedly or just stay on. After some research it's seems to be a common issue and is resolved by pressing both the home and back button on the remote and then the pair button under the nexus player. If not for the remote issue I would give it a 5 star rating.

I have used several media players in the past, including WD TV Live, Apple TV, Chromecast and Wii U. Nexus Player is by far my favorite out of all of them. The two main things I use a media player for is to stream video files from my network hard drive and to stream Netflix. With the Nexus Player, I am able to use the Archos Player app with the extra codec, all free, to stream video files from my network hard drive. The Netflix app also works well. The Nexus Player feels very fast and responsive and I just love the fact that it has 802.11ac.

This is great for running most of the android apps such as netflix, youtube, hulu etc. am running Kodi on this device and it's seamless. Definitely must have if you don't have a smart TV.

I love Nexus devices and this one is no exception, however, the marshmallow update has made the device really laggy. Another thing is the lack of app support makes this device limited for streaming movies and light gaming. This device is good, it's just not worth the price.

This is an easy set up and works so smoothly as long as you have good wifi in your home. I have 4 of these in my house.

Compare to the chromecast with a love is just a faster version but is actually good for gaming beside the stream.

I have been enjoying this for long time now but I wish it had volume control option for which I had to search for my tv remote. Other than that it's a great player for just $50 bucks. If you can load KOdi then sky is the limit

It's made by Asus, for Google, enough said!! The price drop on this really justifies getting one. Preloaded apps are ok, but can sideload apps you really want. Nice UI, with HD resolution, looks great. Quickly runs apps. Hook up a bluetooth keyboard/mouse, or get an OTG USB adapter to use a receiver, for quick navigation. Works really well for gaming, get the controller, the remote that comes with it is only for basic use.

Purchased this for a specific App. Setup was easy and no issues so far. I liked voice search.

I love being able to easily mirror to my TV easily and simply. That feature works great! I also like the variety of content. I do think more apps should be available for the Nexus player (come on now, Google), but I think they are on their way and the mirroring feature makes using all of the apps in the Play Store much easier. The device works great, the remote is light in the hand, and I am enjoying my new device daily.

Great product. Easy to navigate. Many available apps. Love being able to play games. If you are at all invested in the Google Play ecosystem it's a must have!

This device works great for streaming with the exception of a few things. It has all apps i use except WWE app and HBO Go. I know it has Chromecast support but I'm trying to avoid having to use multiple devices. I had the Chromecast stick which worked great but later i wanted something to support USB drives and also has a remote. Have not had any lags or issues with Nexus player. I wish it had a power button though.

Good product specially if you want to install Kodi. However, wish it was more spacious.

This device has a ton of potential and works great out of the box, but there are a few things missing that ended up being dealbreakers for me. 1 - no ethernet port, 2 - no regular usb ports, 3 - nearly no internal storage. It has the faster wifi standard with the 2x2 MIMO 802.11AC but nothing can truly replace ethernet when you are streaming almost entirely HD now a days. The small footprint is great and the remote it comes with works very well and is quite responsive, but when the Nvidia Shield TV launched it made this device look like a beta Android TV effort vs the mainstream Android TV device that is was intended to be. For the avg user looking to stream some google play content or netflix or youtube this is great, but if you are more of a power user and want to install KODI (formerly xbmc) or do a lot of rom emulation then you run into issues quickly between the lack of ports and internal storage and the inconsistency that is wifi. If you want something that is a step up from this device, check out Nvidia's Shield TV, it's starting at $200 but it truly is a great Android TV device and includes the gaming remote if you plan on using Android TV for a lot of gaming.

This is an outstanding streamer. I don't know of any other streaming box that runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow. The box is automatically updates its self with the latest version of Android. No Flashing required. You can download the latest version of Kodi from the Google Play store for free. The only drawback is the remote does not have all of the buttons needed to access some of Kodi's features

I am a Google fan so going nexus player was a no-brainer. The player has a few glitches with playback but most buffers are few and far between. The update to 6.0 helped eliminate most problems. Great price and slick look.

Best feature is the bluetooth headset connection. You can watch movies with your favorite bluetooth headset and enjoy the movie without disturbing the rest of the house. Has most of the features of the chromecast but adds a remote that makes navigating a little easier. Also has voice search functions so you can ask Google queries without having to pick up your phone. It doesn't have all the nice promotion offers that chromecast has but overall this device being only 15 dollars more than a chromecast is worth the extra bucks

The nexus player I seamless and 100 times faster the the Apple TV. Plus chrome cast is better and seamless to stream videos to your tv.
