I did my research and found the Nexus media to be what I wanted. I brought it home, connected to my wireless and on the 'Connecting to Google...' screen got stuck. Power cycled it, redid my wireless, check my router firewall, (I work in the IT field) I have my DSL modem in bridge mode. No change. I changed to my back up modem- no change. So I contacted Google, they walked me through resetting it and re-setting it up and still got stuck. The tech guy said to try another one. I boxed it up, got my self a 2nd Google Nexus media device, setup it up and stuck at 'Connecting to Google...' So I reset that device, tried both modems, emailed Google a couple of times and no change. I gave up and got a Roku 2, got online with no issues. I was looking forward to it but I think the device has compatibility issues with a lot of modems and routers out there still.

    Great Android Streaming Device

The device was very easy to set up and I love how it communicates well with my other android devices. Unlike other streaming devices, you can use the voice search option in multiple apps rather than on just the homescreen when looking for a movie. It also is fully upgraded to Android 6.0 but, like any device, you will have to perform several firmware updates before you reach the 6.0 status. I would recommend just powering through system and app updates before you really start diving into the Nexus Player's key features and apps. Overall, I am very pleased with my purchase!! I will say I have two minor downsides. First, there are still not as many apps as I would like. Many of the apps they just want you to chromecast from your phone instead of just having the app on the nexus device. Second, I am not in love with the remote. It can be glitchy at times and the voice search doesn't hear what I say 100% of the time.

We use our Nexus player almost daily. It works great and rarely have issues with fast connection. We've had trouble with the remote connectivity so we always us the app remote instead.

My unit would not load Netflix it defaulted to goggle movies. Lack of chrome browser support really limits its capability. Not worth the price value has less capability than the original Google TV...

The sound would cut in and out after a few minutes of watching a video. Exchanged it and the second unit had issues with detecting usb external storage. Os updating constantly is annoying.

Love having another Android device to use. Navigation is familiar of course. There is a hiccup every now and then & that's why only 4 stars. I still would not trade it for anything.

Huge disappointment. Netflix doesn't have surround sound. Really nothing does. No Vudu app and it won't cast over either. I have an old Google TV that I'll probably be going back to.
