I bought the Nexus Player when it was $70 and even then it was a great price. It is simple to use and great for streaming Netflix, Hulu and YouTube. I haven't tried games yet, but the Nexus Player has allowed us to final cut the cable chord! I just bought one for my parents as well.

Great Player especially at the lower prices

Its a great player especially at the current price! If your in the google/ android ecosystem its really awesome, however you don't need to be as all of the major streaming apps like netflix, hulu are free to down load. Google side load apps, I've side loaded Spotify, chrome browser, showbox. Mouse and keyboard support is built in. I'm using a usb hub and using a wireless keyboard and mouse as well as the usb flash drive. The nexus player has an upgrade to 6.0 marshmallow which allows the usb to be used as internal storage. I also bought the game pad, well worth it for the price as well. In closing, its one of the best tech purchases I've bought in a while. I'm considering buying another second.

A good product that's only going to get better.

The Nexus Player is a solid (if a little barebones) start to Android TV. Apps and games are continuously being added. Streaming media (Netflix, Google Movies & TV, Pandora, etc.) works well and looks great. The only thing it's lacking is overscan settings...something I hope Google will address in the future. One tip: If your movies won't stream, something is tripping the HDCP protection (for me, it was a cheap HDMI switch).

You can watch videos. Play classic games w/ the right emulator. No amazon prime video strictly google play store items. You can also cast to the nexus just like a chromecast. Sideload apps that are not found in the play store as well.googe play video, HBOnow, hulu+, netflix, cbs

Bought this online cyber monday and regret not buying 2 more !!!!Love the functionality of this unit. No crazy buttons on the remote super easy to setup and navigate .im saving a hundredf bucks a month in cable now i wil never go back Only thing i dont like is that there is no power button wich leads me to believe it may eventually burn out from running 24/7

    Apps Limited

Hardware seems to be stable enough to run most apps without problems. Limited access to apps in the Google Play store. I expect that number to grow. Using the player to run Media Player Kodi and it does a great job. Would be helpful if the remote had a query keypad. Overall very satisfied with my purchase.

    Best Streaming Player

This is the best streaming player in market. Lags sometimes and have to restart it. Otherwise I bought it for a very low price and could side load all useful apps and I don't need cable anymore or I don't need to pay for an extra set top box.

This has been working beautifully for me since I've owned it. Setup was very and picture is great. Only wished it came with a better remote that had actual numbers and letters on it for searching with voice doesn't want to work correctly..

    Excellent setup box

This box is ideal for using Plex or Kodi to stream your own content. The built in Chromecast is fantastic as well. Only downside is the lack of certain streaming apps, specifically an Xfinity app that would negate the need for additional cable boxes.

    The start of something great!

This is a great first step in a very promising direction. Works well with cord cutter life style ( netflix, hulu, homerunHD, Chromecast) and casual gaming ( modern combat 4&5, NBA Jam, SNES emulators, racing games, etc). Let me address the complaints. -The fact that the games aren't as numerous are due to the developers and the lack of game pad / external key support. But we're seeing lots of new games added everyday. -While there are many VOD sites ( vudu, HBO, showtime, etc), for them to play nice with the player, they need to incorporate the lean back launcher code, elsewise, the experience would lack severely. They are coming. When, I dunno, but it'd be foolish on their part not to add support. All in all, great device, great investment, and great step to a casual gaming/ video&music streaming console. Plus its sub $100! C'mon!

    Awesome Player

I just got this Nexus Player a few days ago and so far it's been great to use for playing movies, music or games. Before I've been using the Chromecast device but it had very basic functionality, now with the player I can simply access all my web streaming services and my Plex media server at home. I like the fact that I don't need to use my phone to search for items to watch I can just simply use the Nexus player remote and access all my content, also If you do decide to use your android phone, tablet or iPad tablet you can because it works with both. I also have the Apple TV, but I might give that up since the Nexus player works better for me.

    Great device for $50

I ditched cable earlier this week and bought two of these boxes. The first thing you should do is install KODI from the google play store. There's plugins for it that will allow you to easily browse and watch TV shows and movies. I had no problem streaming the TV shows last night that I would normally have watched on cable. It has a micro usb port you can buy an micro to USB female adapter cable and use flash drives, external hard drives, usb ethernet.

    Awesome device!

Fast and responsive media and game player. Apps are available in the google store and easy to download. Initially took about 45min. to download and install all the updates (one by one, in order) to marshmallow. Kodi works great for free movies, tv shows, live sports. There is a micro usb plug; in order to utilize it you you have to get an adapter if you want to stream files from a USB HD. I'm also able to play HD movies from my network drive connected to the router via WIFI, it works fantastic without lag or freezing. Overall, much better buy than a Chromecast specially when its on sale for $50 due to its versatility and superior capabilities.

Pretty good media player if you like the Android ecosystem. Not a lot of gaming apps to play. Doubles as a Chromecast device as well, which is an added benefit.

I bought 3 Nexus player for family members. They are working great so far Pros: HD display, Wifi AC, and KODI app are the plus sides. Cons: Menu interface is limited, not well organized by category like google store. Google Apps for Nexus is limited. Many apps on regular tablet will not available on Nexus player. Too many apps for games, but not for entertainment & News. Overall, good product but it needs improvement!

I bought this item because of the power of the processor and that it would be comparable to the Roku 3. It is but the apps are more limited as opposed to what is available with the Roku 3. No Vudu or TWC apps. I love the sale price point of $50 but the nexus limited app choices forc s me to return.

I really love my Nexus Player especially at the price point I bought it at which was $50. I went back in store to see if they had any more for my 2nd TV at home but sadly it seems you can't get them in stores anymore. I consider myself lucky to get one before they ran out. The device plays smoothly and I like the casting feature.
