I really wanted to love the Nexus Player...But... Picture quality when watching Netflix, YouTube, Hulu and Plex files is the worst I've seen in these types of devices. Color separation, pixilation, macro blocking in everything. What should be "black" is "grey" & the application icon backgrounds in the interface & applications look like they're in 8 bit or 16 bit color. I've tried different known working HDMI cables, tested both wifi and wired networking (using a OTG cable, powered USB hub and USB Ethernet cable) but picture quality was the same. I even tried a different receiver+TV in another room. I also upgraded to Android Marshmallow but the results were the same. I can't return it because I've spent too much time trying to troubleshoot. In terms of picture quality and overall fluid response, my Apple TV runs circles around the nexus player.

I love this device. If u don't have a smart TV, this will give you that.

Netflix is the achilles heel of this device. Bought this in La Crosse WI bestbuy for my birthday. I can only play one episode of NCIS before the player tells me the device has been deactivated. Talke to ASUS and Netflix. the issue is on the NETFLIX app. They are supposedly working on it. Bought to replace chromecast, can't until Netflix fixes app. Vudu is not available for nexus, but can be cast to it. Gaming is pretty decent, really good graphics as is VUDU @ HD, only minor glitching. App selection is limited, resolution is excellent, Netflix needs better app. Not all nexus players are having issue with netflix, but my nexus absolutely fight sequential play factory reset per ASUS doens't fix the issue

the voice search function doesn't work sometimes, just keep waiting then gone. nothing show up. the remote lost connection to the box every few days, have to pair it again, I got a SONY TV which build in with Android TV, never got the same problem.

its realy good for everyday use i use it mostly for netfilx

Got it for 50$ . it's easy to play Android games now on my TV and install apps.

Item works great with the available apps they have for android TV. If google increases the no of supported apps this would be the perfect device.

The whole family loves it! So easy to set up. We were ready for movie night before the popcorn was done. Works with all our favorites: YouTube, Netflix, Google Play Movies & Tv, Hulu and much much more.

Just stick with the Chromecast. At least that works. The nexus player has been nothing but a disappointment. You can not control the volume without changing it on your tv itself. The device is slow, doesn't connect well with my strong internet, losses connectivity with the remote often, Most apps don't function but 50% of the time. Eg. Netflix, google play music has about a 25%success rate, YouTube, the search fails as well...

Good when it works. Very few useful apps compared amazon's player. Google customer service is the worse if you event need help as well. Also some of the key appls like Google photos not available on Nexus TV. Over all some hajpauj system Google has put together with limited use. Youtube works okay and netflicks may be. Everything else is pretty bad. I am kind of sick of half hearted products by Google.

This is one of the best media players out there. One of the few that has a chromecast built in.

This thing is really bad. The idea is good, however the implementation is horrible. It freezes all the time, it keeps saying a few times a day that some apps stopped working and need to shut down. The thing itself ocasionally needs restarting. Often, when i turn on my tv, the player just shows black blank screen, and i have to press some buttons for apps to appear.

I used this almost daily. It streams well, and the quality is good. The voice reader doesn't always work great, but I rarely use it anyway.

android tv lacks maturity but device functions perfecty and produces good video quality. fast wireless internet connection.

4 days i have been trying to get the resolution to 1080P. If you go to Android help a million people have the same problem. Return is my only solution

I wish if they manufactured more of these... the best
