Google Nexus
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this when it was on sale for $50 and it is just amazing..It is like a chromecast on steroids..Basically an adroid tv box or like any roku or Apple TV and then doubles as chromecast to stream from your devices to the tv. The unit is very fast and just smooth with operation and menu navigation.

Best streamer available and the best deal also!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The nexus player is a great device for pretty much anything u would want to use it for! U can download all kinds of cool apps from the Google store and games also!! The only thing I didn't like about it is there's no where for an sd card or a plug in for Ethernet!! Other than that it's pretty rad....

A Roku or Chromecast are a better buy.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. So Google is entering the streaming desktop box market and, while it totally doesn't fail the lack of dedicated apps on the device itself makes this box not worth the price. You get your standard Netflix, Hulu and the Google play services but as of now no Crackle, Flixster, Crunchyroll, Vimeo and etc. This device really depends on you having either a secondary android device or "casting" from a Google chrome browser to make up for the lack of expansive streaming services . Which really sucks since I bought this device to be a stand alone player and to replace my Chromecast. It does have the ability to download and play dedicated games, like the Ouya, and I'm sure the optional game controller makes it a better value proposition. It's also very fast to start up and almost no lag when browsing. The remote it comes with is Bluetooth so you candy hide the player behind your TV or wherever your heart desires and not have fiddle with getting a clear line of sight. The voice command function is also excellent and makes it easier to search for content. As of now though if you're looking for a dedicated device to watch or listen to various streaming services and maybe discover new ones a Roku would b a better purchase, especially since the new models support voice search same as this box. Unless you're deeply in the Google/Android eco system by purchasing movies and TV shows through its Play services, skip this over the price and get a cheaper Chromecast.

Android TV is awesome!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I don't agree with the people that doesn't like this device. I understand is not the best STB hardware available out there, but for the price it's an excellent choice if you require a remote (otherwise get a Chromecast). Netflix and Plex works awesome on it. Thanks BestBuy and Google.

Fast
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have all generations of Apple TV, fire stick and Fire TV, but I was impressed that this device is fast and neat. It's good if you a Google play movie library and don't like to use chromecast.

...Eh?
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I intend to return this product. Compared to other options, there aren't enough features to justify the price tag, even if you do snag it at $50. The lack of app support was a huge drawback - this does not support HBO GO/NOW, Amazon Instant Video, etc. Also, another turnoff was the fact that the voice feature did not integrate with the apps - so there is no ability to pull up a show from Netflix. I would stay away until more applications are supported.

Better than Roku
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this to replace a laptop that I was using as a media center. I chose this over Roku and others because at $50, there isn't really anything else that offers the flexibility. With a micro USB to USB adapter and a powered USB hub you can add hard drives, keyboards and other devices. Negatives for me are small. Not all apps are available from the store, but you can get them with some work. Bluetooth audio is buggy, and just doesn't work with the Netflix app. Overall this little puck has met and exceeded my expectations.

Finally getting TV right!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. So much better than the Asus and Netgear versions I had previously. Streaming in HD is nearly flawless. Would give it 5 stars, but not all apps and websites I would like support casting.

One of the best streaming devices !
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have had many streaming players from Western Digital to Roku to Apple TV and umpteen Android boxes from China that run XBMC. I found the Google Nexus to be a solid device. The fit and finish is top notch. Its made by ASUS for Google and the quality is there to see. Next i was worried about the glitchy Android platform and how responsive it would be. But to my surprise it is very responsive like Apple TV. The thousands of Apps and voice command feature for searching content for the internet is a plus. The voice command works very well. It recognizes pretty much any thing that you can throw at it and aggregates content based on your search term across Apps, content and media. Its a fantastic player. Only gripe is lack of connectivity via a micro USB port. You can always buy a micro USB to USB adapter and connect your external storage. After having meddled with many streaming players I would highly recommend this one.

Stable first version
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Coming from Google TV this was definitely an upgrade. My 6 and 8 year old love playing android games on the TV now. I opted not to buy the official Nexus Player controllers ($40 a piece) and instead bought two controllers from GameStop that work great and were only $8. Goody and should only get better.

Great product
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Instead to buy cheap G Box from China, hard and costly to return. It is more better to buy Google Nexus Player work great with Kodi

Great Player and Network Streamer
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Really happy with this little box. Have tried multiple boxes before such as WDTv Live and Chromecast and Roku. Never was 100% happy with any of them as there was always something I needed one of the other boxes for. This is the first box that can do it all. I can stream from my shares across the network using Kodi with no lag, I can watch Netflix, Sling, and any of the network boxes. It has a remote control but since it's Bluetooth, can sync up to my keyboards for easy entering of text on screen. Overall it does everything I need it to. Stability on some of the apps could be a little better, but that isn't the fault of this product. I would definitely recommend getting it for a home entertainment box.

Nexus Player excellent with Lollipop 6.0 update
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. With the new firmware update to 6.0 Lollipop The Nexus Player is awesome. Casting youtube, Netflix, and Pandora works great with the exception of an occasional glitch. You can also side load apps, the Nexus player is very flexible and gives you so many options to tweak it. I would definitely recommend the player.
