Customers are impressed with the Pixel 5 5G 128GB's battery life and camera quality, frequently praising its performance and ease of use. Many appreciate the phone's smaller size while maintaining a good screen size, along with its storage capacity and 5G capabilities. I love this phone! A minor complaint is screen size (I have to wear glasses to see the default screen font), but a great Android experience. Killer pics from the camera, some cool new features in Android 11 ( like ability to copy text verification codes from some apps). Decent battery life, though seems to take a while to charge. A nice upgrade from my 3 year old Moto Z2 Force phone. I highly recommend. Att he’d pics with phone in protective case.

To me, there is a singular reason for buying a Pixel phone: Software. The software experience on a Pixel device is simply unparalleled. Simple but thoughtful additions enhance the user experience. One of these features, call screening, is absolutely amazing. It's one of the most powerful tools in battling spam calls. The Pixel line has had a somewhat troubled history, but I think Google has made a wise decision in chasing value as opposed to industry-leading specs. While the Pixel 5 doesn't pack the latest processor, its performance is unquestionably more than capable for most users. The simplicity of the software combined with the 90 Hz display makes the Pixel 5 feel fluid and fast in everyday use. Additionally, Google seems to have finally taken battery life seriously. After the dismal battery life of the Pixel 4 lines, Google has sported the Pixel 5 with a much larger battery that, combined with the mid-range processor, makes this phone leave any battery life concerns in the past. While I liked face unlock with the Pixel 4, I find the fingerprint sensor on the Pixel 5 to be fast and accurate and, if I am going to use a fingerprint sensor, I much prefer it to be located on the back of the device rather than embedded in the screen (I actually miss LG's old approach of integrating the fingerprint sensor with the power button on the back of the phone). Not surprisingly, the camera is still impressive although, admittedly, the camera is one of the lowest priorities on a smartphone for me; But, if a good camera is a priority for you, you'll find it on the Pixel 5. The phone's design is a bit uninspired and utilitarian but, slap one of Google's nice fabric cases on it and the phone gets some personality. The screen is excellent - minimal bezels with a small hole punch camera on the left. Sound on the Pixel 5 is a bit underwhelming, and this is likely due to there being no true top speaker (google uses the screen itself as a speaker, much like LG did with the LG G8). Call clarity is perfectly fine, but music can sound a bit muffled - this is not a big deal for me because I used wireless headphones 99% of the time I listen to music. If you are looking for the latest hardware and top of the line specs, the Pixel 5 is not for you; but, if you are looking for an unparalleled software experience wrapped in a manageable form factor, the Pixel 5 is definitely worth a look.

This phone is just like the reviews say. It is on a better budget than some other phones. It offers almost everything you would ask for in a phone. Offering water resistance wireless charging good storage and memory along with a couple of great cameras. I also like that the phone is not glass I am not sure who made up the premium market or who drives it but that is farce in my book. I think premium is something like this with grip a good clean look and something you do not have to worry about breaking easy. I also like how they finally slimed down the phone and fit a lot into a small package. I would have like to see a bigger screen because of it but I am ok with what this gives you. I am surprised at how good the audio works on this phone considering how it is produced. You would not know the processor is not the top end because this phone performs all day every day very very well. I also like that I use it every day playing games and work and still only charge it about every day and a half. I think the screen refresh rate and resolution are perfect again the companies trying to go bigger make no sense. This is not a tv and you can only see things up to certain specs and this is about it. It also helps the battery last longer which with how small this phone is I would be ok with it being a little thicker with a bigger battery to get a couple of days out of a charge. The only negative things I can say for the phone is I wish it did have the 3 cameras with wide normal and telephoto like others along with the option for a bigger screen.

For a $599 phone, it is amazing. I stepped up from a Pixel 2 XL and this has much better battery, I have gotten 3 days of my "very light" use, 2 days from my "normal" use, and a full day out of my "heavy" use. The Pixel 5 also has a much smoother screen (90hz refresh rate) that you can tell the difference when scrolling through stuff. The phone overall is smaller that my Pixel 2 XL which took a few days to get use to, especially when typing on the virtual keyboard but since I use swiftkey's keyboard, I was able to enlarge the keyboard slightly from what I typically have it set at, and now all is good. Keep in mind, even though the overall phone size is smaller, the screen size was almost identical to my last phone due to the very small bezel, just a different aspect ratio, no longer 16x9 but now more narrow. I am not the biggest fan of the punchhole front camera, but it has stayed out of the way thanks to the oversized status bar at the top. Which, by the way, is a waste of space, the status bar is twice as tall as it use to be which is to cover the area of the front camera. I wish they could have moved the camera up further allowing the status bar to be normal size. The back cameras are great, and using the wide angle lens for the first time in a narrow room, at first made the picture have a fish eyed look. But to my surprise, the phone adjusted the picture after taken and squared the room back up to look normal without distortion - very impressive. Now they need to include all 3 cameras like most other flagship phones have. While I don't play games on my phone, everything else is super fast and you would never know it doesn't have the highest end processer. 5G was not that impressive, but that is due to Verizon not the phone. Maybe one day we'll see faster speeds. Love having wireless charging again (my Samsung Galaxy S6 had it, and boy did I miss it on my Pixel 2 XL), I use wireless charging to save the USB C port from being overly used which will provide a longer life span without charging issues. Be sure to get a 14 or 15 watt wireless charger so you can take advantage to the faster wireless charging speeds. My biggest gripe is the transfer process to a new phone, Google needs to step up their game and when doing a full transfer of the apps, should sign all apps into your accounts. Very few apps auto signed in, and I had to manually sign-in, get 2-step verification codes, reset passwords, and even locked myself out of a few accounts. That process takes too long, and is a pain.

This device has great battery life, but I'm comparing it to my 4 year old Pixel XL with defunct battery. I can have hotspot on for a long time without the battery dying. The Pixel 5 is smaller than I would like. It doesn't seem to have as good cellular reception as the Pixel XL does, but is definitely quicker. Its main selling points for me were the camera quality which you can see on DXO Mark, its 5G capability, and its reasonable price point. I scored it for $200 off ($499) at Best Buy the week before Thanksgiving. I am pleased with the device overall and hope to get as many years out of it as my 4 yr old Pixel XL.

Upgraded from a Pixel 2 and this is almost exactly the same size phone, except the large bezel of the Pixel 2 is a full screen filling the entire from of the phone. Did not want a Pixel 4 due to loss of fingerprint unlock and it was worth the wait. This phone is a huge upgrade for speed and battery life. Camera on this is the best out there as well. I chose Pixel 5 due to the waterproofing that is not on the 4a or 4a 5g, of that is not important to you, they are cheaper and probably a better value. I got this on sale 200 off and I recommend waiting for a sale as well.

Coming from a Pixel 3XL to a Pixel 5, I was excited. Temper your expectations, don't expect a flagship processor but know that you're getting a near perfect "it just works" phone. I don't play games, so the Snapdragon 765G didn't bother me too much. The phone symmetry is beautiful, uniform bezels, holepunch camera, form factor, and a nice textured back. The fingerprint sensor and the camera are the best in any device I have ever used. The camera sensor may be old but once you go Pixel, it's hard to use any other camera. The battery life is incredible and the standout feature of this phone. I got 8 hours of screen on time with a single charge, blew my mind. My 3 XL got like 4-5 hours max. The only negative is the speaker. There are two down firing speakers that sound fine, but another behind the glass screen and it sounds terrible. Overall, for users with no gaming requirements, it's a high recommendation. Stock Android for life.
Google, pls get a better processor for the next Pixel though.

I had the Pixel 3. Pixel 5 runs very smooth and everything I loved before stays - great photos, easy to use, and great performance. The 5G has been useful for me (Denver Metro).
My 1 star missing is because there isn't much super "new". But that's kinda just the standard these days for all phones
I was able to get it on sale, but even at full price it is a good deal

I switched from iphone to try the Google phone, and I have to be honest, I don't love it. The iphone is definitely more user friendly, the interface is much better & the touch screen adaptability is way smoother. The settings are a little more dificult to get through on Google & the touch screen is SO touchy. Sometimes it doesn't register touch at all, so I increase the sensitivity and then it is way too sensitive. So I end up just looking silly, poking my phone over and over until it realizes I'm touching it. I also hate the sideways back swipe, because it's easily confused with regular scrolling and it takes me out of what I'm looking at all the time. Super frustrating. I do like the picture & video quality more than iphone, but the portrait mode definitely lacks in comparison to iphone. The blur around the object is rough and messy. I do enjoy the size of this phone, iphones were getting too big and bulky for me. I just wish the haptics of this phone were as smooth as iphone. My #1 pet peeve, is no longer having imessaging. It's been a huge bummer. I've had for about 6 months and I'm not sure if I want to keep it at this point.

I bought the Verizon carrier-locked version when it was on sale for $500 and, I couldn't be happier!
This has been the perfect replacement for my Pixel 2. I have not experienced any slowness with the 765G and, the wide-angle lens has been great for both photo and video.
Additionally, it has fixed my number one issue with the pixel line, battery life. I can now comfortably take my phone off its charger and know it is going to last me 24+ hours.
Finally, I was relieved to see that, even on the carrier-specific version, there was no bloatware other than the Verizon account management app, which can easily be uninstalled.
I would highly recommend this to anyone not wanting to shell out $1000 for a new phone to pick this phone up.

I have been using Samsung phones for about 8 years (most recently had the S9) and decided to jump ship to Google. The phone feels nice in my hands, less plastic-y than Samsung phones. I like that the phone is not too large. The battery life has been great so far. The camera is excellent and selfie photos are surprisingly decent. I was quite impressed with Night Sight. I like that there is less bloatware than my previous Samsung phones.
I have my phone in a case and decided to put a Pop Socket on the back. With it collapsed, I can actually still unlock the phone with my fingerprint even though I can't get close contact because of my curved fingernails.
Overall, very happy with my new phone and would recommend!

I've had this phone for a couple months now and am still in love with it.
No, it's not the fastest, flashiest phone ever, but it's never slowed down on me for what I use it for (messaging, web browsing, the occasional light game) and the battery is honestly darn near impossible to kill in a single day (I've done it, but it involved shamefully binging a mobile game for like 8 hours...).
The unmodified version of Android is snappy, clean and efficient. The camera is great, with an amazing suit of editing software that lets you tweak just about anything you could possibly want shy of importing the photo into adobe photoshop.
My favorite things though are the call screening via Google assistant means no more robocalls (yes, it is as blissful as it sounds) and the fact that I don't feel like I need a case for this phone. Yes, no case, no screen protector. This phone is durable. I've dropped it several times onto bare concrete floors at work several times and this ring doesn't have a scratch on it.
Downsides:
No headphone jack (not a huge deal for me, but it's notable)
Coming from a galaxy s10+, the screen feels small but I've gotten used to it.
The top speaker is behind the screen and doesn't sound particularly great, even as an earpiece for phonecalls (at high volumes not great turns into noticably awful).

I was reluctant to put my Pixel 2XL out to pasture, but with the imminent expiration of system and security updates for that model, I could no longer postpone an upgrade. After researching the available options, including the more expensive flagships that offered more impressive specs, I decided to stay with the Pixel line based on my personal experience with the 2XL, which was the most reliable, user-friendly phone I've ever owned.
I looked at the Pixel 4a5G because it was larger, but ultimately opted for the Pixel 5. Having used it now for about 10 days, I can say without qualification that it has surpassed my expectations. It works flawlessly, takes fabulous photos, and provides a full two days plus on a single battery charge. While some users have reported lower sound quality and volume, mine has been fine -- just as good as my old P2XL. I highly recommend this device.

Coming from a Pixel 1 XL, this has much smoother performance. I don't mind the 765 processor/chipset, the 8 GB of RAM keeps apps loaded for fast task switching. At 6" it is a bit smaller, but refreshing to be able to reach across the screen with a thumb, one handed. I did go to the store and handle the phone first, to make sure it wouldn't be too small. I get fast WiFi and mobile data speeds, it has not over heated, and that 1/10 mm gap in the top left corner is nothing, especially once it's in a case. I also considered a couple of other phones, but long term security/software updates was the final deciding factor. So far, so good. I hope to have it as long or longer than I had the Pixel XL.

Upgraded from a Google Pixel 2 XL. While noticeably smaller, it's not too small, and runs and cleanly. Transferring data and apps was a breeze. Great charge hold. Just the simple upgrade I wanted. Only thing I dislike was the new UI functions, but they allowed the option to change it back to the original ones which I highly preferred

Great deal on a great phone! Thankfully I have Verizon and was able to take advantage of the BF $200 off promotion. Screen is great, 90 Hz refresh is nice, battery is incredible and of course camera is industry standard. Only slight downer is behind screen speakers, but I don't use the phone's audio for anything other than the occasional Youtube video.

Best android phone for 2020. This phone is fast, has a lot of storage (128gb) and has a comparable camera to the iphone 12. The battery life is phenomenal! You can use this for hours and not drain much battery. The charger is usb-c, so if like me you will need to upgrade all of your chargers. Other than that well worth the purchase!

I was concerned about the 765 CPU in the Pixel 5, but after 3 months I think it is plenty fast. I don't play games on my phone, so that might be a consideration. I wanted to stay with a Pixel phone for the clean Android experience and timely updates (this phone replaced a Pixel 2XL). I did want a larger screen, but I'm not disappointed with my purchase and would recommend it to others.
