The sound quality is better than the 1st gen, lip synching issues still present themselves. I wanted these to be my daily drivers, alas they couldnt quite keep up with the new sony flagships.

As a previous owner of the original Pixel Buds, I decided to try the Pixel Buds Pro 2, hoping they’d fix some of the issues I had with the earlier model. While there are definitely improvements, a few key problems remain. One of the big features Google is promoting is the addition of their new Gemini sound technology, which promises a richer, more immersive audio experience. I have to say, the sound quality is a noticeable step up. The bass is more powerful without overwhelming the mids and highs, making for a well-balanced listening experience. Paired with improved Active Noise Cancellation (ANC), these earbuds do a great job blocking out background noise, whether you’re on a noisy commute or just trying to focus. Another feature I found useful is the transparency mode, which lets you hear what's going on around you while still listening to audio. This is especially helpful in situations where you need to stay aware of your surroundings or engage in quick conversations without taking out the buds. For me, it even helps with hearing people more clearly, almost like a subtle hearing aid, which is a great addition. You can also use Live Translate with these, allowing you to translate conversations in real-time. While I haven’t had much opportunity to use this feature extensively, in the few tests I tried, it seemed to work fairly well. It’s not a feature I’ll use every day, but for travelers or those needing quick language support, it could be a real asset. One feature I appreciated is the seal check, which helps ensure you’re getting the best possible fit. The earbuds test the seal in your ears and guide you to adjust them if needed, which improves both sound quality and noise cancellation. This helps a lot with comfort, too, since a good fit makes a big difference when wearing them for long periods. However, my biggest frustration with the original Pixel Buds—touch controls—remains. The controls are still overly sensitive, and it’s easy to accidentally pause or skip tracks when adjusting the buds or even when brushing against them. I was really hoping for physical buttons or a less finicky touch system, but unfortunately, this hasn’t changed. Another feature that sounds great on paper is the conversation detection. This is supposed to automatically pause your music when it detects you’re talking. In reality, it doesn’t always work as expected. Sometimes it pauses the audio when I’m not speaking or doesn’t kick in fast enough when I do start talking. It’s a bit inconsistent and could use some fine-tuning. On a positive note, the battery life is excellent. You get up to 11 hours of listening time on a single charge, and the charging case brings the total to 31 hours. The case itself is compact and supports wireless charging, which is a convenient feature. In summary, the Pixel Buds Pro 2 bring significant upgrades like improved sound, noise cancellation, and smart features some may find useful. However, the touch controls remain a major annoyance for me personally, and conversation detection isn’t as reliable as it should be. If you’re heavily invested in Google’s ecosystem and can overlook these drawbacks, these earbuds are a solid choice.

Good sound and noise cancelling. Pass through sound works well. They don`t lock in like is advertised and have fallen out a couple times. Battery life is short, 6 -7 hrs, with minimum use.

Hey there, Bob62. We’re glad that you're enjoying the Pixel Buds Pro 2 and we hear your concerns on battery life and the need for a more snug fit. Here’s some tips to get the most out of your earbuds.

In regards to battery life: you should get 12 hours listening time without ANC and 8 hours listening time with ANC turned on. With a fully charged wireless charging case that increases to 48 hours total listening time and 30 hours with ANC turned on

As for the fit: your Pixel Buds are pre-attached with medium eartips and come with small and large ear tips so that you can improve your fit. A tight seal gives you better sound, noise cancellation, and mic performance. If you are not getting the audio or call quality you expect, try bigger eartips.

I bought these for my husband and it's his first wireless earbuds. He loves them! Now I don't have to hear his 80's music while he's working out. I Just wish they came with instructions.

What can I say? I'm biased towards Google pixel products. I love the Pixel bud pros, and the Pro 2's aren't just a little upgrade, they're pretty significant with the AI Gemini chip! They probably are the best earbuds I have had, get you some!

Bought for my wife as a birthday gift since her previous pair of ear buds kept falling out. These have been far more stable for her ears. And finding the green color is a bonus.

The good: Sound Quality: The audio is top-notch, very smooth and clear. Crisp highs, deep lows, and a well-balanced sound that makes my playlists come alive. These have become my daily drivers. Active Noise Cancellation: This feature is becoming more common with earbuds, and these are solid in this area as well. The transparency mode is also super useful when I need to be aware of my surroundings. Comfort Fit: You can barely feel them, they're so light and unintrusive. They come with different ear tip sizes, and once I found my perfect match, I can wear them for hours without any discomfort. Perfect for long listening sessions or those endless Zoom calls. Battery Life: With up to 8 hours of listening time (and 30 total with the case), I rarely worry about charging. Plus, they charge super fast—just a quick top-up gives you enough juice to get through the day. Integration with Google Assistant: If you’re in the Google ecosystem, these buds make everything seamless. Hands-free assistant access is super convenient for checking messages or controlling music. The bad: Pricey: They’re on the higher end of the wireless earbud market, which might not sit well with everyone. But honestly, I do feel these are worth the price point. Touch Controls: While they’re mostly intuitive, sometimes the touch controls can be a bit finicky. A light tap can register as a swipe, which can be annoying when you're trying to skip tracks. Bulky Case: The charging case is a tad bulkier than I’d like, making it a bit less pocket-friendly. Ultimately not a big deal, but maybe 10% bigger than an Airpods Pro case. Overall: If you’re serious about sound quality and want a pair of earbuds that do it all, the Google Pixel Buds Pro 2 are totally worth it. The pros definitely outweigh the cons, excellent audio quality and all day comfort make these an easy 5 stars.

We’re thrilled you’re enjoying your Pixel Buds Pro 2, ArnoG! That said, here’s a few tips to get those earbuds fitting perfectly:

      1. Try different sized ear tips to find the best fit: Ears are unique so your left ear may be different from your right ear.
      2. Try memory foam eartips: If you’re not getting a perfect fit with our silicone eartips, memory foam eartips might be worth a try.
