Customers are saying
Customers highly value the Pixel Buds Pro 2 for their impressive sound quality, comfortable fit, and long battery life. The active noise cancellation and transparency mode are also appreciated features. While the touch controls, volume, and price receive some criticism, the conversation detection feature does not always perform as expected. Overall, the positive aspects of the Pixel Buds Pro 2 appear to outweigh the negative ones for most users.

Better than I was expecting!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Fantastic! These earbuds work GREAT. They are THE MOST comfortable earbuds I've owned and I have Samsung's 2 & 3. I bought these because they would do multipoint(attach to more than 1 device at a time) and that option is ALSO great! Seriously, I don't mind just leaving these earbuds in my ears even if I'm not using them. To be specific, these are the Pixel Buds Pro 2 earbuds. And buying them from BB was EASY PEASY, even easier than from Amazon, not to mention I got them the same day, not 2 days(or longer) later. I REALLY wish I hadn't spent all that money on the Samsung earbuds, I'm not saying they are bad but they don't fit in my ears and they are NOT comfortable, PLUS neither is multipoint. I usually only use over the ear earbuds for running but I might give these a try, they are that comfortable. And the sound is ALSO fantastic, great bass and treble and the noise cancelling is UNBELIEVEABLE. Maybe it's time for me to start migrating to Pixel phones too! I am currently listening to these earbuds with my Samsung phone playing Spotify AND they are also connected to my laptop for when I come across videos for my class, I pause the music, play the video and go back to Spotify.

The airpods for android
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have been using the original pixel buds pro, as well as a set of the cheaper pixel buds a series, for quite some time and have been mostly happy. The buds pro didn't wasn't the best at anything but it did do everything pretty well. This new generation of Buds pro is a nice generational upgrade that combines a few features I liked on the A series as well. With the new google Tensor chip in these they have been able to improve battery life while simultaneously making them smaller, which generally doesn't happen. One of the design additions that were made were little retention flaps that allow you to insert and twist them to engage this little flap into your ear for a much more secure fit. I found the previous generation would easily slide out of my ear when things got hot and sweaty, these do a much better job staying seated. The new generation case is the same dimensions as before so any of your case or accessories you may have acquired should transfer right over. Now onto the performance stuff. Active noise control effectiveness has been increased which is something that I really appreciate as I use these for a variety of activities ranging from mowing the lawn to using them for media consumption on a flight. The previous buds pro left a bit to be desired particularly in the ANC department for me, the new generation has improved this area significantly allowing me to hear my music better with less noise leakage. They also just flat out get louder than the original generation which was another one of my main complaints. Easy to stay in a safe range for sure, but when you wanna bump them up these deliver much more oomph than before. Sound quality is always relative as your generally limited by what Bluetooth can do, these certainly don't match my IEM's plugged into a proper AMP/DAC but for a set of Bluetooth headphones they are some of the best I've owned. Very clean with the default tuning and the software has a built in equalizer for customization as well as several other presets you can choose from. My only complain with the equalizer is you can only save one custom sound profile at a time, no way to create multiples and save them to the app unfortunately, maybe they can improve this with a future software update. Assistant wise these move from the standard google assistant to the new Gemini AI assistant. Gemini is essentially a more capable assistant that allows you to use more natural language when utilizing it. You can even go into "live mode" and have a full blown conversation with your new digital assistant. Of course you need internet for this so keep in mind it will need to be paired to a device with a connection to function. So while there are certain ear buds that can provide superior performance to these, their integration with android or pixel user phones is flawless, sound quality is more than good enough, clear voice pick-up for phone calls, and at the price point they are you really cant go wrong with these. They are the airpods for android users.

Noise issues (defective?)
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Have 1st gen pro. No issues. These constantly had sound issues (squeaking, squealing, super loud bass). Tired all the typically troubleshooting; adjusting settings, cleaning them, resetting them; nothing. Usually my extra income is spent on new Google products every year but this will make me wait until my current ones just don't work.

|Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. These are so poorly designed they do not fit in quite a few ears. The supposed fins that are supposed to help them fit naturally actually do the opposite, make them unable to sound naturally even after lots of experiments with the ear tips and positioning.

Google has another winner
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.A few months ago, I got the new Pixel Watch 3, which was a vast improvement over their older watches, and Pixel has done it again with the much improved Pixel Buds Pro 2. They’re smaller and lighter than the older ones and seem to fit better and more comfortably. You just give them a little twist and they’ll make a seal which really helps with noise cancellation. If you want to check to see if they can be twisted for a better seal, the “Eartip Seal Check” in the app will help you. Speaking of noise cancellation, it’s amazing with these buds. I put them on during a recent plane trip and the background noise just drifted away. I was alone with my music. When the flight attendant came by, whenever I started speaking the music immediately stopped and the noise cancellation went away and I could hear her perfectly. At the end of our conversation the plane noise disappeared and my song continued. Absolutely no assistance from me, or any silly gestures needed. Don’t forget to install the Pixel Bud app. You can use it to modify controls on the buds, but what I like best are the audio equalization adjustments. Listen to one of your favorite songs and you’ll be amazed what you can do with the five point EQ, bringing out what you like best in your music. Something else I appreciated which may sound silly but it’s true. Another popular brand of earbuds are stored in a case where it’s extremely difficult (at least for me) to remove them. It was hard to get a grip on each bud because it was magnetically attracted to the case, and difficult to pull it out because they're so snug in there. Maybe you know what I mean. More than once, I’ve been wrestling with that brand of ear buds and one finally flew out of my hand and rolled around somewhere on the floor. Well, these Pixel buds magnetically pull into the case also, but it’s MUCH easier to grip them. Bottom line – The engineers at Google have a winner here. I can’t find anything I don’t like about them. They sound great and the noise cancelling works as advertised and let’s you really enjoy your music, or whatever you’re listening to.

Superb with Android devices
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Google Pixel Buds Pro 2 are a solid choice for users seeking premium audio quality, active noise cancellation (ANC), and seamless integration with Android and iOS devices. The Pixel Buds Pro 2 are designed to deliver clear mids, rich bass, and sharp trebles. The inclusion of a custom-designed 11mm speaker driver contributes to this superior sound experience, along with a solid, balanced EQ that can be tailored to your preference. One of the standout features is the effective ANC and Transparency mode which offers a versatile listening experience. Whether you want to block out distractions or stay aware of your surroundings, the transition between these modes is smooth and intuitive. This flexibility makes the Pixel Buds Pro 2 ideal for commuting or working in noisy environments. Taking calls on the Pixel Buds Pro 2 was pleasant and environmental noise was sufficiently surprised so that the caller could hear me speaking vs my voice getting overpowered by street noise. For Android users, the experience is much better than iOS.. These earbuds pair seamlessly with Android devices via Google Fast Pair, providing one-tap setup and device switching. The Pixel Buds app gives Android users access to a range of customizations like touch controls, an adjustable equalizer, and real-time updates. Additionally, hands-free Google Assistant integration makes tasks like sending messages or controlling media effortless. iOS users don’t get the same app support. The Pixel Buds Pro 2 connect via Bluetooth, and key features like ANC, Transparency mode, and excellent sound quality remain the same,, though advanced Android-exclusive functionalities like Google Assistant integration are missing. Overall, the Google Pixel Buds Pro 2 stand out for their sound quality, ANC, and ease of use, particularly if you’re an Android user. The qi charging option is always welcome and makes for a cleaner desktop or nightstand charging solution. I wouldn’t recommend an iOS user to get the Pixel Buds Pro 2 over AirPods, but I do highly recommend theses earbuds to all android users for their ease of use and superb quality.

Best Buds out there
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I am very impressed with the Google Pixel Buds Pro 2 and believe they are the best ear buds out there. Just when I was starting to think that ear buds couldn't really be improved on, Google managed to innovate just about every aspect of ear buds for the better. Bluetooth setup worked with every device I tried, Google Pixel 8, a desktop PC, laptop PC and android tablet. No issues. Using the Pixel Buds app on the phone is easy and intuitive. The case can be charged both wired and wirelessly, and the battery life is excellent at about 7hrs with noise cancellation enabled. These ear buds are a little smaller than the Pixel Buds Pro (1) and the fit is excellent. The buds have a little different shape, incorporating a small lip on the backside. When you insert the buds and twist a little clockwise, the lip causes the buds to sort of "lock in" your ear. I have no concerns about the buds coming out during exercise. Using gestures also works very well. It is easy to play/pause, change volume, skip songs and enable/disable active noise cancellation with a gesture (tap(s), swipes). This all worked much smoother than other ear buds I have tried. One feature that stands out in my mind is the lack of latency between the device and the ear buds. I use ear buds mostly for streaming shows on a laptop pc, and there is no discernible latency between the pc and the ear buds. Almost all other ear buds I have tried have a small latency so the video an audio are not in sync. That issue is non-existant with the Pixel Buds Pro 2. Thanks to the new AI Tensor A1 chip, the battery life is better despite a smaller physical ear bud. Likewise, "Hey Google" and AI features work well when paired with a Google Pixel phone. I enthusiastically recommend the Google Pixel Buds Pro 2!

Great sound, great features
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Fair disclosure: the Pixel Buds Pro 2 are the first pair of wireless earbuds I’ve ever tried, so I have no baseline for comparing them to similar products. My overall impression: a quality product with many great features. The PBP2s have a very flat sound profile by default but have great flexibility with the 5-point equalizer in the Pixel Buds app that can bring music to life. I’m impressed with the quality of the sound these buds can produce. The active noise cancellation is extremely (even surprisingly) effective. Like ANC in over-the-hear headphones I’ve used, it can have trouble filtering out broad-spectrum noises like wind/fans and flowing water, but that’s not unexpected. The ‘eartip seal check’ feature in the app is nice to have and helps maximize the effectiveness of the ANC. The transparency mode, which passes in outside noise instead of canceling it, is quite effective, though not amazing (the quality of the mics leaves room for improvement). This is a must-have feature for me, as I do not want to be popping these out and back in every time I need to talk to someone. The ‘conversation detection’ feature, which can automatically transition between ANC and transparency mode is a little janky and delayed at times but still appreciated for hands-free operation. The microphones are reasonably clear when on a phone call, but I’d describe the quality as merely ‘OK’. For their small size, the buds fit quite snuggly and securely, seemingly not prone to popping out accidentally. While the stabilizer wings in the rear seem quite effective, I find them fairly uncomfortable, even when not twisting to engage them. But I suspect I’m more sensitive to having things in my ears than most. From my experience so far, the ‘multipoint’ feature which allows connecting the buds to two different Bluetooth audio sources simultaneously, is very buggy and needs attention and fixing. Suppose I have the buds paired to both my Pixel phone and laptop running Windows. If I’m watching a video on the laptop and accidentally activate the assistant while trying to adjust volume with a swipe gesture on the buds (but this gets interpreted as a tap gesture instead), the video stops playing while the assistant activates on my phone. At that point, I may or may not be able to resume the video with a tap gesture, depending on how cranky the bud gremlins are at the moment. Even worse, if I have media paused on my laptop, for example, and start playing media on my phone, I’ve had the buds gremlin unpause the media on my laptop… even repeatedly so (actively fighting me as I pause it repeatedly). It’s bad enough that I’m entirely dissuaded from using this feature until it is improved. This is just me being cranky, but while the cardboard holder for the different-sized tips is environmentally friendly, it’s not so great for long-term storage. And the lack of a ‘medium’ compartment seems quite unfortunate to me.
