Great functionality and good sound quality. This is worth getting over the Samsung Galaxy Buds Pro if you own a Pixel phone and can find it on sale, which shouldn’t be too difficult.

The sound quality of these buds is superb. Add Active Noise Cancelling (ANC) and it only gets better. Good soundstage with excellent bass response and are very enjoyable to listen to. The ANC does a great job of removing unwanted noise with a 6-core custom chip that’s tuned by Google’s engineers. There is a feature in the app to make sure you are using the right sized eartips and that you have a good seal. If you are using a PIxel phone, then you don’t need to download the Pixel Buds appYou don’t have to do anything but open the case and nearly instantly the automatic pairing appears. This Fast Pair functionality works with any Android 6.0+ device but you will need to download the app if you are not using a Google Pixel. The app is not available on iOS. You’ll also get audio switching if using more than one Android device such as phone and tablet signed into the same Google account. I think the controls are the most intuitive I’ve used on a pair of earbuds. Use a swipe forward gesture on either bud to increase the volume or back to decrease it. One tap will pause or resume the song, two taps will advance the song, and three will go to the previous. You can customize a long-press on either earbud to toggle ANC/Transparency or to summon Google Assistant. I’ve had earbuds in the past where you had to physically push them (which just pushes them into your ear further) to control things, whereas these are just a light tap or swipe. Google’s engineers did well here as there are premium wireless in-ears on the market right now that don’t even have touch volume controls! Removing one earbud from your ears will automatically pause the music (if available depending on application) and will resume when you put it back in your ear. The ANC has a pressure sensor and I’m not sure how it works but will relieve this pressure if needed to ensure that the listening experience remains comfortable. That is important because these have incredible battery life and can last for nearly an entire 8-hour workday with ANC on and when you put the buds back in the case should be able to go all day listening with ANC before needing a power source. Speaking of the case, it’s round and compact, thin, supports wireless charging, and should fit comfortably in pockets. I’ve had no issues wearing these for hours at a time. Really, the only con is if you are an iPhone user and not Android. Of course, these work fine on iOS or any other Bluetooth device and still sound fantastic but you’ll be missing out on some features such as Google Assistant, Notifications, and Fast Pairing. However, this will the same situation with any headphone that’s not made by Apple. I’m also not sure how you would configure the headphones or even update the firmware without an Android device. Pros: Excellent Sound Quality Intuitive Touch Controls Android Fast Pairing Hey Google and Android Notification Support Excellent Bass Response Swap between multiple devices Wireless Charging Fantastic Battery Life Mic is great for calls Google Translate Support Includes Small, Medium, and Large eartips Cons: iOS support is limited and there is no app. Spatial audio not available until Fall 22 At the end of the day, these are the best sounding ANC earbuds I have ever heard and recommend them to anyone, and if you have a Pixel phone that are a must have in my opinion!

Hi Titan5178, thanks for choosing Pixel Buds Pro, and we greatly appreciate your insights about the features and the things to consider. Feedback like this helps us identify what we’re doing well, and what areas we need to work on, and we’d be happy to share thi information with the product team for future improvements. Hi there, thanks for your feedback on Pixel Buds Pro, and we appreciate you for highlighting the features. We hear you concerns about the limited support for iOS users, and with the Spatial Audio feature

Pixel Buds Pro are great wireless earbuds for all source devices, including laptops, tablets, and non-Android phones. That being said, features such as Google Assistant, are only available on Pixel or Android devices that run on Android 6.0+. Pixel Buds Pro’s tight integration with Pixel phones also unlock additional features in the future.

Later this year, we’ll update Pixel Buds Pro to support spatial audio. So when you watch a movie or TV show on compatible Pixel phones, you’ll be right in the middle of the action. The full spatial audio experience is coming later this year and we will have more to share at that time.

Your feedback means a lot to us, and we’ll share this information along with the right team for future improvements. For questions and concerns about the PIxel Buds Pro, our dedicated team will always be available to help you here: https://support.google.com/googlepixelbuds/gethelp madebygoogle

Pretty great, but I'm not sure it's totally worth the price. Some software issues like an incessant ring tone if the Google Assistant is enabled makes a lot of the smart functionality impossible.

Google has always been in that top tier of software and now it is a breath of fresh air that they are able to provide hardware products in that same tier. I am a heavy wireless earbud user and I must say that Google is now a strong competitor to Apple and Sony in the wireless earbud department. Right out of the box the aesthetics and build quality of these headphones are great as I love the matte look and feel as there is no cheap plastic feel to them. The wireless charging case was exactly as expected and the fast pairing worked seamlessly. I do appreciate the removal of the wingtips from the previous version as those just felt cumbersome in my ear and created an additional pressure. This did not affect the fit at all though as the earbuds fit snuggly in my ear and even after multiple runs I have yet to have any issues with the earbuds coming loose. I did use the ear tip seal check in the Pixel Buds app and it recommended moving to the larger size ear tips so I would recommend running that test before just settling on the default medium size ear tips. In regard to the actual performance though I was extremely impressed with what Google has done here. I will say my daily drivers are my airpod pros, but after using these I was shocked at how they actually sounded better for typically once you hit that $150 threshold in earbud cost there is not much difference when it comes to actual sound quality as you are simply paying for extra features, but putting recency bias aside and going and back and forth the pixel buds put out a more pronounced and fuller sound. You are also not losing any of those extra features here with the pixel buds as the active noise cancellation is top notch and nearly matches that of the Sony WF-100XM4 earbuds which are noted as being the king of the mountain. Additionally, the transparency mode, call quality (both incoming and outgoing), automatic device switching, built-in Google Assistant, and in-ear detection are all on par with both those of Apple and Sony. There are a couple items I do want to highlight that I really liked with these earbuds over the competitors. The first was the simplicity of the app as every single piece of technology anymore has a dang convoluted app, but the pixel buds app was extremely straightforward and easy to use. I know I previously mentioned the active noise cancellation, but the thing that stood out was that there was not as strong of a pressure when this was turned on as with other earbuds which resulted in a much more comfortable fit. The last thing very subtle thing I want to note are the charging lights on the case as when the case is under 20% the light blinks yellow which is such a small thing, but comes in handy. Overall, there has yet to be anything I can fault these earbuds for as I am blown away by this product by Google. They are the perfect combination between the top-notch portability of the airpod pros and the superior sound quality of the Sony WF-1000XM4s. I would not hesitate to recommend these to anyone, especially if they are an Android user. If Google can build upon this success in their phone and wearables lines they definitely could dethrone Apple and Samsung in the coming years.

These earbuds are really mediocre. They only support SBC and AAC codecs and no high bit rates. ANC is meh as they don't block out a lot of noise, and Transparency mode is meh too since outside noise is muffled. They fit comfortablely and I can lay on my side while sleeping and they don't feel bad. The only thing I liked with these earbuds were it's battery life and case design. That's about it. If these were lower in price then it'll justify the average quality features. Wait until these drop in price or save a bit more for Sennheiser's MTW3 for $50 more for better quality.

I have always wanted a pair of these headphones, but when they first came out, I think the features that were listed worked best with a Pixel device. So I avoided it. So when these came out, I had to give it a try. The box is small/smol and very eco friendly. There are no cables or bricks here. So you will need to use your existing USB C or just pop it on your wireless charging pad. The other stuff in the box are just the larger and smaller ear tips. They come preinstalled with the medium sized ones. The case is screams quality to me. I feel like I am getting a premium build here and this is before even opening the case. I have more expensive buds and that case feels a little less premium in the hand. I recommend downloading the app before pairing the device and also use the latest version of Android. I am pairing it with my Samsung Galaxy S20FE device on T-Mobile. After the app is installed. I opened the app and then opened the case. The phone immediately popped up the picture of the buds to ask if I want to pair it. Following the on-screen instructions, it paired within less than a minute. When I first put these on, I was in a High School Volleyball game, so there was a lot of background noise, echos and such. But when the headphones activated in the ear, a weird sense of silence filtered in. Meaning the voices were still heard but most of the background noise was muted out. You can hear some, but not all. I actually let my wife try this experience too, however, she is partially deaf, so I wasn't sure if she would get the same reaction I did. And to my surprise, she did experience the same filtered noise cancellation. This is where Google software magic comes into play. I have a couple buds that also have ANC and this has the most noticeable ANC out of the three I have. And they vary in price as well. In playing videos and music, I have to say the soundstage is good, but not fantastic. For me a great experience is clear and crisp bass. However, saying that. I did enjoy wearing the buds because they are comfortable to wear even after a straight 2 hours of usage. The battery life seems really good so far and connection has been solid, while walking around the house with these on. Bottom line, you are getting these Pros because of the wealth of features. The sound is in the middle of the road for me. But for many, it may be fine. I can see using these on a trip because of the ANC and it's that good. Not top of the line, but I can see it getting better with software updates.

I want to love these earbuds. I love the features of what they're capable of. I don't know if I got a dud or what, but my pixel buds randomly paused when I'm listening to anything. Doesn't matter if I have one button or both. I have done three or four resets and check all the settings and disabled some settings and it still does the exact same thing. This issue makes them pretty much unusable.
