I love the color choices from Google. The designs are cool. They just sit in your ear and it feels like they are not even there. There’s only one knock on them and that is the volume. I wish Google adds some form of an equalizer to adjust better.

So I bought these as I saw it said it lasted 5 hours. Needless to say I got about 2.5-3 hours in and it told me it only had 15% battery left. They have amazing call quality and the touch response is pretty impressive, but if you're someone like me who is on the phone 6+ hours a day these just arent going to cut it for you. When I'd be on my Pixel3 for all day with my other bluetooth my phone would still have 15-20% after a 9hr work day whereas these killed my phone 6 hours in. Great product but only for small uses.

I was really excited for these, especially since I have a Pixel 5 and I thought the compatibility would really improve my overall experience. Unfortunately I actually have a lot of issues with them. The primary problem is the connectivity. So often either one or both buds disconnect while I'm wearing them and carrying my phone. I wish the charge lasted longer. The gesture controls are pretty bad. Sometimes the buds are too sensitive and other times they don't recognize my touches. I keep accidentally asking it for the wrong commands because it doesn't see my clicks how I intend to. Also I don't trust them to stay in my ears. I constantly push them back in, which also triggers some sort of command by accident. They have a function to recognize loud noises like sirens or barking, but instead of temporarily raising the volume so that i could still hear what I'm listening to, it lowers it, so i definitely miss what i was listening to at that point. I like that it has location and i can find them, but this is only the case if they are in their case. So if i lose just one of them, then i have no way of finding it. It's not all bad! I love the texture of the case and I'm glad it's usb-c. The case is also a lot smaller than some of the other wireless earbuds there. On the app i can change some settings like boosting the bass. But, there is no noise cancellation, and i think that's a good function to add to any earbuds.

Amazing experience at the best price. Many have stated that the bass was not enough, but for me, I felt it was sufficient. Also, you can hear lower tunes very well. This means they are the best, if you are into acoustic/instrumental genre.

While these have been the most comfortable wireless earbuds I've tried, they only had a stable connection in perfect conditions-- if I was sitting at my desk, not moving, and my phone was just inches away. If I walked outside, the connection would instantly go in-and-out and become virtually unusable. The tapping-features are nice though, such as turning up the volume with just a swipe. Unfortunately, I returned them because I needed earbuds I could use outside.

I had been looking forward to the release of new Pixel Bud colors, but even with the additional time Google had to work out the software kinks before releasing them, I found the audio cutouts and connectivity issues too hindering to my experience. I have since returned them. Some positives were how sleek the charging case was, the earbuds themselves were extremely Comfortable, and pairing set up was a breeze.

I have to say I was on the fence given all the good and bad reviews about the Google Pixel Buds 2. I have had my pixel buds for almost a month now and they have been reliable and sound fantastic. The google assistant is intuative and it is so nice to be able to control all my smart home devices, YouTubeMusic and YouTubeTV using my Pixel Buds. The only complaint I have is the lack of an ambient mode but I think that will come with a future update. We live in a 2 story house and I can leave my phone on the bottom floor and travel throughout the house with no cutouts. I would recommend these to anyone because they are on par with Galaxy Buds and Apple Airpods.

I would not purchase again and would not recommend to a friend.
I was replacing a pair of AirPods (2nd gen) with these thinking that they would offer a more seamless connectevity with my Pixel device, which can get buggy at times when reconnecting or when toggling multiple connected devices. These actually did seem to get along with my Pixel device nicely while they lasted.
I noted the touch commands on these and was interested to see how it works. Right off the bat, I noticed that they are not nearly as comfortable as my old pair, which I could fall asleep wearing and roll over onto without feeling any discomfort. These feel much more bulky in the ear, I am constantly removing to relieve the "itchy" sensation that these cause in my ear, likely from stretching . If I fall asleep with these and roll over onto one of these, it will wake me up in one of two ways: 1- by putting a lot of pressure on my inner ear or 2- By triggering the touch response that reads my notifications into my ear.
I tend to accidentally trigger a touch function quite frequently if I am laying down or on a chair with a large headrest. I've considered turning them off, but that was one of the main selling points for me, so I try to modify my movements to improve this issue.
Then, as I listened in bed last night, 9 weeks after purchase, one of the buds just fails. No warning, not a dead battery, just dead... unresponsive.

My go to Plantronics earbud has been great and I've gone thru 2 units since 2014. Both units the battery lasts about 3 years. I wanted to try something new and bought the Pixel Buds and have thoroughly been enjoying them. I never had any of cutout issues that early buyers were experiencing, but the firmware updates have apparently fixed those past issues. The battery life is lower than my old Plantronics but I'm ultimately OK with it since you can top off the battery from the case. My left ear fits a little odd in comparison to my right ear, but it may actually be my ears. All and all I have no regrets on the purchase.

As an iOS user, I knew that I wouldn’t get full functionality out of the Pixel buds, compared to running Android. Even with that caveat, they are wonderful earbuds.
Now if you don’t have access to a device running Android 6+ or later just for setup purposes, I would stay away from these until they start shipping with updated firmware version 550 out of the box or if and when they release an iOS app. My pair came with version 500, and there was a known issue with constant drops in connectivity on that version. There is NO Google Pixel buds app for iOS. So you have no opportunity to update firmware or configure settings without that. They will still pair to your iOS device like any normal pair of Bluetooth headphones, but without the updated firmware at least, you won’t be happy. I did have an older Android phone lying around the house, so I was able to easily download the Google Pixel buds app and update the firmware.
Now using an iOS device, I am still able to configure and use the Sound enhancements like Bass Boost, Adaptive Sound and an experimental feature called Attention Alerts, where the buds will lower the volume and play a chime, letting you know that they have detected environmental sounds that you might need to pay attention too, if you did not hear them initially. Right now these sounds are a baby crying, a dog barking and emergency vehicle sirens. I can also utilize In Ear detection, where the buds recognized when they are placed or removed from your ears, along with all the touch controls for play/pause/skip/volume, etc.
What I can’t use on iOS are things like firmware updates, Google Assistant voice recognition from the Pixel buds directly and the Find Device feature, in case you lose your buds and need to track them on your device.
The storage charging case is well built, nice and dense with a solid feeling hinge design for the lid. LEDs on both the front of the case and inside the lid display white when fully charged and amber when needing a charge for either the case itself or the Pixel buds. The buds fit securely inside and snap in to place once you start to place them.
Overall I’m quite impressed with the Pixel buds. For in ear headphones, the sound is very full and rich, with full bottom end, especially with Bass Boost turned on. Depending on the audio track, they can get “tinny” at higher volumes, but overall the sound from these is very well rounded and full, I was super impressed when I first heard them. They fit very snug in your ear thanks to custom ear piece sizes included in the box (sm, md, lg) and a built in stabilizer bar that sits perfectly above your ear canal maintaining a secure fit. No amount of movement or awkward head angles made it feel like the buds were at risk of falling out. Pairing to my iOS device was simple, just push the pairing button on the case until the led begins to blink and pair with your device like any standard Bluetooth headset. With updated firmware, my connection seemed very strong, and I’ve only occasionally experienced audio drop outs. The volume is sort of on the lower end, they don’t get excessively loud, which is good for in ear buds, but some people might want or expect a higher top volume output. For me they were just right, at the very highest output, they were slightly too loud for me, so I can easily back it down a touch and be at a nice listening level. Battery life seems to be excellent with the buds easily lasting all day for me during moderate use. The case has both USB-C and wireless Qi charging, and charging the case was nice and fast. In ear detection works great, playing a small tone once they detect placement in the ear, then during playback, if you need to remove one or both of them, the audio is paused automatically. Then when placed back in the ear, playback resumes. The touch controls are nice and easily allow for single tap play/pause or multi tap gestures for other actions, and swiping across lowers or raises the volume. For the most part they work just fine, however when you need to adjust them in your ears or take them off or on, they can produce unintended touches that perform an action you weren’t looking to do. Because of the small size of the outer ear bud itself, best to just use on device controls for that stuff, but if you need to use the touch controls on each bud, they work just fine.
Call quality is also very good. Incoming call audio is nice and clear and with their sound isolating microphones, background noise is nonexistent to callers on the other end of the line.
These are solid, well performing in ear headphones that sound great, have great features and great battery life. And even though I’m not using 100% of their feature potential since I’m an iOS user, I still highly recommend them. I do wish at some point though, they release an iOS version of the Pixel Buds app.

At first it was a good true wireless earbud. But lately started having connectivity issues. One side wouldn't connect until a full reset of both my phone and the buds, or the sound would drop in and out, or their would be a delay between the left and right earbuds which causes an echoing effect.
The app is really basic. There is no way to lock controls to prevent accidental touches during a workout nor adjust the eq.
Hopefully these common issues get fixed in future patch updates.
