The fit and finish of these buds is just so satisfying. Well built and feel solid!
I hear a lot of people complain about audio drop-outs, but the ONLY place I've had this issue is shopping in Costco. Otherwise they work great around the house or mowing the lawn.

Pixel Buds 2 Review

Though many improvements have been made by Google, more improvements can be made. This may happen in future product releases. So some features I absolutely love. Call quality for both parties is excellent. Compact case design. Color options. With some of the firmware updates, the music quality has majorly improved. They won't compete with Bose or Sony in the music category.
So here are a few things that I am not impressed with. About six months into owning my Pixel Buds 2, the charging port broke. Fortunately, Google's customer service took care of the issue and sent me out a whole new unit. Also, when you use both buds at the same time, one tends to drain faster than the other. This has been a perplexing issue for every pixel bud owner I have talked with. Comfort could also be improved upon. There have been some aftermarket options that have come to market.

TL;DR - Good headphones. Not bad, not great. Haven't used the cool features like Google Translate on them yet (rarely out enough with COVID still lurking) to give them a better rating. Good for a call or a few songs/workout but not for prolonged use (especially since the battery is weak).
Samsung Buds+ are cheaper and overall better for the all day use. I just get sick of Samsung lack of customer service or backing of their mobile products.
For context, I have a Galaxy S10+. I've had the Samsung Buds and Buds+. I lost one bud each on the old ones so when it came time to purchase a new set (Samsung does not allow software updates nor the ability to purchase single buds should you lose/destroy one), I wanted to try these out.
The case is definitely top notch. Solid, the little magnetic option to help the buds stay in is a nice touch. Wireless charging is cool but my other headphones already had that.
The Pixel buds feel nice. While these only have 2 mics vs Samsung Buds+ have 3, I've been told I sound better on these (I use these for conference calls during COVID work from home).
I'm an all day kind of user with headphones. I listen to music constantly, have them in during workouts, use them for personal and conference calls, etc. They are comfortable, but you definitely feel them after a couple of hours. The piece that secures them in is good but also the part that you end up feeling after hours of use.
Maybe because I got used to the battery life of the Buds+ but man these things feel like they only last a couple of hours of minimal use. This is annoying when I'm working and I start getting the battery notification.
I've noticed some bugs of trying to switch songs, random stereo drop out (one ear will drop for no reason), sometimes I have to stop and reconnect them, etc.
I messed with the Google Translate piece in some conversational Spanish with my wife and it worked decently. That part is nice but since we are all working from home due to COVID, not a lot of use for that feature at this time.
Music is okay. Galaxy Buds+ were a little more deeper with base but honestly, if you're a music fiend/audiofile, you wouldn't be looking at these anyway.
These are great for my conference calls and will hopefully get more use once things start to open back more. Until then, these things are just okay. I hate to say it, but I like the Galaxy Buds+ more for my use (and they're cheaper).

I would highly recommend these to any Android user. I have a Pixel phone and Samsung tablet and it is seamless to switch between both and don't have a need to have multiple earbuds for all my Android devices now. I love the wireless charging capabilities and the usage of USB C so I don't need multiple charging cords. Sound quality is great not having noise cancelling but I can't seem to be able to tell the difference anyways. A really nice feature is when you remove an earbud it will pause whatever you are listening to and then restart when you put it back into your ear. Touch controls work good after figuring out what it can all do for you.

I had been keeping an eye on these wireless ear buds when they first announced them and I was stoked. The Oh So Orange color was so gorgeous and I loved the aesthetic of them so it was worth the wait to get my hands on them. Unfortunately I ended up returning them after about a month because, despite the ease of use, look, and sound quality being great, there was a small bit of static that you could hear when sound was playing. I know when people first got them there were complaints and I hoped that software updates could fix it, but from what I gathered through research it seemed to be a hardware thing and that it was reduced as much as possible. Once I could hear I couldn't stop hearing it so I had to say farewell to them. Besides that, however, they were awesome and if that kind of stuff doesn't bother you than I say go for it.

Perfect fit, 1000% comfy, great range, and audio quality, only killer is that the voice skips a beat every 2 3 minutes. It's a bummer. :(

These are good headphones. With the pixel app you do have increased audio controls which is great. When I used the pixel phone they were better than when I used the Samsung phone. Some occasional issues where they will cut out. Eventually I returned them because the sound was really low in the one earbud and normal in the other. After contacting google they couldn’t fix it but I was able to exchange them since I had the protection plan. I bought them in December and used them for three months.

The Google Earbuds We've Been Waiting For

The first generation of Pixel Buds never got any attention, and for good reasons. There were better products out there. So when the 2020 Pixel Buds finally ditched the wires and went truly wireless, I had to wonder just how good it is compared to the competition.
The 2020 Pixel Buds (to be called Pixel Buds from here on) are remarkably small. They’re smaller from my primary wireless earbuds -- Sony’s WF-1000XM3 (to be called XM3 for easier referencing). The earpiece design fit into my ears and I was able to wear them without any discomfort for over an hour. Both earbuds have touch controls and are identical for both sides. Like any wireless earbuds, there are 3 tip sizes, with medium being preinstalled. The earbuds come with a small wing tip that helps keep the earbuds in place while wearing them. For me, they also serve as a miniature handle when taking them out of the case. And speaking of case, it’s surprisingly small. You can charge up the case using a USB Type-C cable or wirelessly, which is good as it provides people with some options on how to charge. Obviously the fastest way to charge will be through USB.
The Pixel Buds fit well in my ears. This has always been one of the more trickier aspects to researching wireless earbuds. Each and every person’s ears are different. One brand’s design may fit well while another may not. The tiny wing tip helps secure the earbuds in place. Even after over an hour long listening session, the Pixel Buds do not bother me at all. I can still feel that I am wearing/using them.
Controls on the buds themselves are simple. And using the companion “Google Pixel Buds” app will also provide you with a tutorial on your first run. For some reason, and this happens with the Sony XM3 too, I’m always fumbling to figure out where exactly the touch controls are at. But this is likely due to me not being used to wireless earbuds in general. So far, I have no issue with its touch controls, even the swiping gestures used for volume control.
The gut of any wireless earbuds or headphone review is the sound quality. So far, the audio is about average. The volume is a little low for my taste and I had to really turn up the volume for some tracks. There is no active noise cancelling so any outside noise will filter through its passive noise cancelling. After several rides on the city train, the train noise is much more pronounced than what I’m used to. I have been very spoiled by active noise cancelling from the Sony XM3 so it now bothers me hearing the loud roar of the train arriving at the station. Due to this, the Pixel Buds are not suitable for commuters. As far as call quality goes, the Pixel Buds sound clear on the other end, using Google Voice as a work-around method to recording a call. I must note that this test was done in a more quiet environment. The result may vary when in a more noisier environment and I’m very skeptical of when calling from a subway station.
The Pixel Buds are rated for 5 hours on a single charge. This is plenty for most usage cases as my commute varies from 45 minutes to 1 hour. I also used one piece for about 3 hours, with the app showing there is still plenty of power left. Although I wish the companion app would adopt another competitor’s methodology of telling people how much power is left. And with that...
There aren’t many settings in the Google Pixel Buds app and your options are limited to turning on or off features of the earbuds themselves. There is no proper EQ to tune the audio to one’s liking, as there’s only a Bass Boost. Firmware updates are automatic and I believe Google implemented a very good method of updating it. The firmware is first loaded onto the case or earbuds. When the buds are in use, the update is paused. And when they’re back in the case, the update resumes. And it all happens without your input. There’s no need to manually update or do some weird procedure to update. It’s the perfect way of updating a firmware for wireless earbuds.
The expectation of any wireless earbuds is a consistent connection. In my time of using and reviewing the Pixel Buds, there are some instances where the connection can be questionable. At one point, the left earbud suddenly dropped its connection and would not reconnect. The only way I was able to fix that is to put the buds back into the charging case for a few seconds, and then take them out again. There are a couple of connection stutters but they were at random times. Granted, even Sony’s XM3 weren’t safe from random connection stutters either. But it was a bit surprising that it happened so soon and so early during my usage time.
Overall, these are surprisingly good earbuds for Android users. Prior to pairing or getting these buds, I installed the Google Pixel Buds app on my Samsung Galaxy Note 9. The moment I opened up the case, it started the pairing sequence automatically, without having to press any button or going into the Bluetooth setting. The Pixel Buds could be considered Android’s answer to the Apple AirPods. It has a just-works design philosophy and the companion app and options available are simple. However, the companion app is also limited in options which is a bit against how Android is -- open and flexible. The lack of proper EQ to fine tune how the audio sounds really brings it down, as you could expand on the earbuds' sound profile. It also isn’t loud which can be concerning for those who don’t have good hearing or want the media loud enough to drown out the outside noise.
The Good: simple touch controls, compact buds, average audio quality
The Bad: no proper EQ, low audio volume, no active noise cancellation
The Ugly: the loud roar of the train rolling into the station as you’re trying to listen to your music
Verdict: 50/50, flip a coin and decide from there

Stays in the ears pretty well during all workouts. Have to adjust every now and then for sweat and more head movement. Pairing is extremely easy for android phones, especially with the app can monitor battery at all times. Touch controls work well on ear buds. Only minor complaint is a bit on the quiet side, so i have to have the volume rather high to my liking. They sound pretty well, especially for not being $200+ buds.

This is my first pair of "nice" wireless buds. I have had good headphones, but they are too bulky to take around. I have had cheap wireless buds, but they were not what I was hoping for. Finally I decided to get the Pixel Buds; so far they are fantastic!
I have been using them on and off for about a week now and have not had any issues.
They pair very easily with Android phones: I just opened the Pixel Buds near my phone the first time and I get a notification to pair them with one tap. This worked on both my Pixel 4 and Galaxy Note 9.
For my uses, the battery life is more than good. Sound quality is very good. I am just overall pretty impressed.

I have some bias because im a google enthusiast. I love how the fit. Not like the wired type c head phones when left in to long they kinda hurt. These present a perfect balance with power to weigh ratio with plus on battery charge time and duration. They are google... Who's really buying these! My clearly white ear buds got plenty of looks and complements. Next is getting the oh so orange. If you're a loyal google custy this is a no question. The only thing you should be thinking about is which color! Have a Happy Googly day!

These Pixel Buds stay in my ears while active MUCH better than the AirPods. Sound quality is great with sufficient bass. The vent lets in a little atmospheric sound but not much. So, it's a bit weird using this on a phone call. The occasional skipping that you might find referenced in other reviews has been completely resolved by the latest firmware update (552). For comfort, convenience and the in-call experience, I prefer Apple's AirPods 1st generation. When active or desiring quality sound, I prefer the Pixel Buds over AirPods Pro because of how much better they fit in my ears and the ease of operation through the swipe and tap gestures.

Loved the Buds more then any out there when first purchaced. After a while, started having connection issues, charging issues, very low audio, despite them being totally up to date. These though were by far the most comfortable buds i owned, best sounding, until I started having issues with them. Never dropped ot anything. WOW!!!
