This is a great phone, upgraded from an iPhone 6 Plus and it did take a little while to get use to Android but now I'm loving it

The Google Pixel XL is an extremely impressive cell phone. I have put this phone through its paces and it didn't even flinch. I took the Pixel off of the charger at 6 a.m. while getting ready for work. At 6:30 I headed to work while steaming Pandora and I let is stream until I left work at noon. This same day we took a 4 hour road trip and during the trip I played a few high graphic game that I knew would tax the phone's operating system. All in all the battery lasted for a little over 17 hours without a charge. The screen is vibrant with brilliant colors and watching videos on the Pixel is a treat. No glitching or any problems at all with the phone locking up and needing a hard reset like my prior experiences with android devices. I'm a Apple user but this phone may have just changed my mind. It's very easy to use and the placement of the fingerprint scanner is in the perfect spot, and very comfortable to use. The layout is user friendly and easily navigated. The camera makes beautiful lively photos with warm colors that look exceptional and the video recorder is second to none. The front facing camera takes better photos than most other phones rear facing camera. The feel of the XL in hand is comfortable and navigating the buttons or apps feel natural. There is quite a few preinstalled apps, but not at all overwhelming. I will and have recommended this phone. A lot of my coworkers are raving over the looks, feel, and power of the Pixel. Way to go Google on this one!

2.5 days of usage, I'm sold, pure Android goodness without the bloat. Out of the box it starts up and can both gather data from other devices, your Google account or Verizon cloud. I am really liking the finger print reader on the back of the phone as opposed to the thumb on the front. I haven't dropped my phone once yet trying to unlock it. The new Google assistant is awesome, great voice recognition all the time. They advertise the best camera yet, many options but the magnification seems less than my Galaxy S6? It does take some time to get used to finding things on this after two days I am still searching for things but it is by far the best OS (pure Google) I have used. Speakers are average, display is above average and the touch screen is exceptional. This uses the new connection (USB C) so the hundreds of dollars in mini USB cables I have is now useless. The supplied charger is a standard charger but the phone claims quick charging, I agree it does charge fast. The battery life has been awesome.. After a day and a half of moderate use I was still at 30% I fully charged it and then used it hard, after 6 hours of heavy use I am still at over 50%. If you are looking to dress it up with cases etc..there iare only limited items available..so far. I just googled cases and Lifeproof is coming out with the FRe soon. All in all a GREAT phone, excellent display, pure Google experience and above average camera with lots of cool effects. Highly recommend.

I've been with the Note series since 2012. With the Note 7 incident, I needed a phone and went to the Pixel. Pixel XL is a great phone but I just couldn't get used to all the changes.

So, I've only had this for about 2 days, but it works. Out of the box it had enough power for me to play around with it. I then started charging it while installing apps. When you first boot it up, it gives you the option to import settings from an old android phone or account...or to start fresh. I chose the later and then went to my Google Play account and picked which apps I wanted. Then I added Amazon underground because I have paid apps there too. I installed the few I wanted with no issues. The phone is easy to navigate and did I mention, it's fast. I'm used to my tablets that take forever to install an app and this thing, dang, I was just pushing done, install, done.... I did have one issue with it. I have a set of Bose bluetooth earbuds and even with the Bose app, the phone struggled to pair up with them. I tried a number of times and just about wanted to give up when I saw the screen change to connected. I don't know what I did to finally get there, but the buds worked like a charm after that and now the setting is there so hopefully no issues. Other that that, the phone is a beast and looks beautiful. Not sure when the finger print reader comes into play. I did have to set it up at the beginning, which was a breeze. Just keep tapping as you see the blue circle complete, but I haven't been asked to touch it again. When the phone locks, I just use my pin to unlock it, unless a trusted app is running, in which case you just swipe. I haven't needed to use it much today after playing with it last night. It been idle most of today and the battery life is still 80%. It went down 20% in 18 hours sitting, without the battery saver option turned on. The Google assistant or "Ok Google" works with the standard stuff I through at it, weather, Pizza Hut, Korean food etc. I just tried out the camera, man that's a nice picture on a pretty piece of glass. Not sure if I've left anything out, but sans the bluetooth hiccup, this is a great Android device...as it should be, after all it is from Google.

Love the picture quality. I wish it we're easier to place in silent mode and it would be great if there were more options for notification sounds and options.

Great phone, upgrades are quick and fast however, for some odd reason, it does not play nice with my home wifi. I read several reviews and seems like a common issue.

    Freezes and restarts very frequently

Overall, I think Google Pixel phones have the potential to function well and be one of the best smartphones out there. However, I have had several problems with mine and I know I'm not the only one. First, my SIM card refused to activate with the phone. This seemed to be an issue on Verizon's end, and Best Buy employees were very helpful in replacing my SIM card and contacting Verizon to have it activated properly. Second, and my main issue with the phone, is that the screen frequently freezes and prompts the phone to restart. I have 'hard reset' the phone many times, but it only seems to help temporarily and then the problem starts up again. Not to mention every time I reset my phone I lose all my text messages and I have to set up my preferences again. Based on what I read online, I am not the only one who has experienced this issue. I also read somewhere that the freezing and restarting can be triggered by installing an app, and that the issue will go away after uninstalling it. However, with today's technology, this issue is completely unacceptable and I shouldn't have to reset my phone and uninstall apps to prevent freezing and restarting of the phone. My Samsung Galaxy S4 functioned much better than my current Google Pixel. I am hoping that the freezing and restarting is an issue with my specific device and not all Pixel phones. If possible, I plan to switch out my Pixel for one that doesn't freeze and restart multiple times a day.
