This is one solid phone... The back build is all metal, with a flawless screen. The heft in your hand says that there is much inside, and there is . The shape is very familiar, and near the same shape and form as the competitors Screen This is the best screen that I have seen. It is clear, vivid, and the images pop out at you much better than anything else on the market. The screen is so vivid, it almost appears 3D Camera The photos here are outstanding, partially due to the superior screen, but it really does take nice pictures. Again, best in class. Just send one to your computer and compare Function If you are used to the Android OS, then you will be very familiar. The screen transitions are speedy, and I have yet had one to hang up. The OS is also solid, without any crashes or errors Sound Keep in mind that this only has one speaker, so you need to keep your expectations in line. I got clear sound and volume, but it is not in stereo Google assistant Easy and clear to use. Intuitive, fast and multifunctional Battery The battery life is in line with other smart phones. If you use it a lot, expect to also charge it frequently Unlock Google has the fingerprint unlock feature on the back (upper middle). All I can say is genius! It fits perfectly in my hand and there is no fumbling around (and potentially dropping it) for a quick unlock Overall, if you are looking for a new Android phone, then this should be a first choice to look at buying

Interesting take on the Android experience

The Pixel XL is quite a bit different than the Android phone I previously used but I’m really starting to like it. The transition to the Pixel was an easy one. The operating system is very familiar. From a physical standpoint, the phone is sturdy and feels comfortable. The camera is great and takes very good pictures but doesn’t offer as much flexibility and control as my previous phone. The screen has a great resolution and has plenty of viewing space; however, unlike previous phones, I haven’t figured out how to customize the color temperature. There are default options for this but I don’t believe you can blend the colors like I could on my Samsung. I knew the phone wasn’t going to be waterproof but I wish it was! In addition, I’ve found it a little more challenging to buy cases for this phone from big name vendors via Amazon. Many of them do not offer cases on Amazon, which isn’t a huge deal but an inconvenience for me. From a software standpoint, it is simple but easy to use. One of the first things I noticed was how easy it was to get to all of the apps via the home screen. The downward scrolling feature was much easier to use than the side-to-side scrolls I’ve used in the past. There aren’t as many pre-installed apps as other phones but I haven’t really missed anything yet. Many of the apps work the same as on previous phones but there are a few things I miss, for example, I miss having the number displayed above app icons to notify me when I have more than one text, voicemail, vox, etc… The phone provides a general notification but goes away if I clear it, which makes it easy to forget I have a text that I haven’t read. I also miss having the time displayed on the phone, even after it goes to sleep. Overall, I really like the phone and I am continuing to learn about its features. There are still quite a few things I need to play with but I am happy to own it.

Slick UI, fantastic battery life, superb camera

My last 2 phones were the Samsung Note ll and 3. Three years in the phone world is an eternity. Biggest contrast between my Note 3 and the Pixel XL is the battery life and camera. I'm blown away because although the battery in the Note 3 was only a little smaller, the Pixel lasts twice as long. Of course this great camera is miles ahead. Anyway, the phone is super fast - fastest, smoothest Android phone ever made. Camera has zero lag and has instant focus. Screen is great, If you're used to Samsungs or other UI's, it may take a bit to get used to the simpler graphics and such, but it lends to faster performance and better battery life.

What a horrible phone! It drops calls, even after the latest fix. I'm having failed e-mails. Turns out lots of pixel owners are having trouble. I'm hearing unhappy customers get referred back and forth from Verizon to Google. Expensive piece of junk!

I was always been a Apple user, I have had Apple phones since I started to use cellular phones, but given the opportunity to try this product, I arranged with my cellular provider and changed my sim card to this Google phone and started to use it. This is my first android phone and one of the best things about it is how simple it is to search something. The phone is programmed to answer anything for you when you say, ok google. The display of how the apps are setup is also a great design. The screen is much more clear than the apple products. My favorite was the ID button in the back of the phone. It seems easier to reach and its very fast when it starts the phone. Something that was disappointing was that it is easily scratched. I had forgotten to get the screen protector and at the end of the day it already had some small scratches but they were barely noticeable, so my recommendation is to get immediately a Screen protector before you start to use it. Making phone calls or receiving and the quality of the voice is very clear and neat. So far I am very pleased with the product, and the fact that is an android OS allows to have more apps for free that in the other hand, are not for free in the Apple Store.

Best Android phone I have owned

I have been a Samsung phone owner past several years and was originally skeptical of purchasing this device. It has impressed me immensely and far out performs any phone I've owned. Overall it is a very smooth operating phone, very responsive. Perfect size to stream or watch video and fits in hand and pockets without looking or feeling oversized. Amazing front facing camera, insane detail! Very impressed with battery life as I am a heavy user who streams, makes phone calls and constantly uses device for web browsing go show work clients. This is in part to the rapid charging I believe as several quick charges during day boost you up faster than any other phone I've seen. Overall very impressive device from google

I've had this phone for several days now. I couldn't ask for better performance in a phone. All apps run smoothly and battery life is excellent! Holds a charge for almost 24 hrs with light surfing. Best of the Androids here. Highly recommend!

I got to play around with a Google Pixel For a weekend and let me tell you I am truly impressed. Google has added a beautiful camera and the all new google assistant. This phone moved with every button I touch and just was very smoove in all of its movements. With the Samsung out of the way I say this is the phone to go for.

I was expecting a little more from this phone. There were no issues with it, but it doesn't really excite me. Solid hardware, great battery life, good reception on Verizon. But nothing really makes this phone stand out as excellent. I never was able to get the fingerprint sensor to work.

I come from the Apple camp, but decided to give it a go since Apple keeps breaking the music app. This is my first time venturing into the Android camp for a phone, so I focused on the Android capabilities rather than whether it can make phone calls or not. Note that my main uses are 1) playing music; 2) texting; and distant 3) making phone calls. Just like Apple, there is a learning curve for this newbie. The OS drops available memory by about 8GB. The screen is bright and colorful with easy-to-read text in the default size and font. It was annoying that I had to download a Music Player. I tried multiple approaches to get my iTunes library on my PC to reach the Pixel, but all of the easy options required payment. Contacts are easy to find.

Likes: The setup from an android to Pixel was seamless, thru the step by step instructions on their website. Responsiveness is excellent. I and an iphone user compared it to an iphone 7 and noticed a slight difference. Screen resolution is beautiful, Phone is stylish. Launcher shortcuts is great to get to additional menu options. Apparently the voice clarity is better. Nightlight helps with night time reading. I have sensitive eyes and my eyes no longer tear up. Google Wallpapers are amazing to view especially Live Earth. Do Not Like: Notification count on the App Icon is no longer available. Card carrying case not available. Pixel Imprint sensor location is inconvenient. I understand how you don’t want to mimic completely the iphone7 but this limits the type of cases a user can acquire. Plenty of real-estate in the front of the phone to have made the screen larger.

I DROPPED MY PHONE INTO COOKING OIL

So, i recently accidentally dropped my phone in skillet that was filled with cooking oil. the phone was literally submerged under 3 inches of oil!! it was under oil for a good 5-6seconds when i was able to fish it out. the phone was working fine when i took it out of the skillet. used alcohol swabs to clean the phone and cotton buds to get as much of the oil out of the headphone jack and charging area. the only thing that seemed to be a problem was the volume in the ear during calls and the speakers on the bottom of the phone. i used a can of compressed air. legit 2-3puffs later the phone sounded like nothing even happened. i didn't think any phone was built that well! the pixel may not have a good enough water proof rating as compared to the s7edge and other competitors but it sure as heck is awesome!!!

    Decent phone, but not reliable

This phone started having a lot of problems for me way too early. It is a decent phone when you first get it. It's fast, has light weight software, the camera is great. I wasn't a fan of the design, I miss having a physical home button and the space at the bottom of the phone kind of seems like a waste. But the real problem with this phone is that it's not built to last. My Pixel XL started slowing down considerably less than a year after I bought it. Coincidence or not, this was around the same time the Pixel 2 came out, so take that however you want. Also, my GPS doesn't work. It broke less than a year after getting the phone. When I tried getting help with it, they said my phone is outside of warranty. In comparison, my Galaxy 4 lasted 4 years before I had to buy a new phone. This will be the last time I buy an expensive phone. And I'd be wary of Google's hardware going forward.

Call me bias but I really like google so when the pixel rolled out, I had to buy it. The phone is so pretty. Very vibrant and it came with daydream VR. The phone is slim and the screen size is big but not bulky. Came with the new os.
