I prefer to purchase gift cards from Best Buy. I never had any issues with the codes not working. The only thing it does take some time to receive the codes if you ordered online. 30mins minimum! Sometimes up to a few hrs!

I use Google play credit to buy apps and in-app purchases like most people. But I also find it useful to pay for my Google One subscription to get cloud storage. I will probably be using this a lot more now that Google Photos no longer offers free storage for High Quality images. I recommend buying these gift cars when they go on sale so you can at least get some discount on these recurring subscriptions.
