Unable to use gift card at google play store. Originally purchased as a gift but recipient unable to use them. Purchased twice before realizing google is not honoring gift cards from bestbuy. Opened ticket with google play support, received following instructions: "Next steps Make sure that you: Submitted details signed in to the Google Account that you first used to redeem the gift card. Provided the correct gift card details. Redemption codes are typically a 16-digit combination of numbers and letters. For more information, go to Fix problems with gift cards. If you have any more questions, you can contact us again." Complied with requested information and received a response stating: "We have identified some inconsistencies with your account and the information you provided us. As a result, we are unable to help you redeem these gift cards." Tried to redeem gift cards from various accounts but still unable to.

I had a small glitch because I used a VPN to connect to another country and that caused Google Play to be under the impression that I was in different country and therefore would not allow me to redeem the card. I was told by Google support to clear all data in the Google Play application on my phone and then I was able to redeem the card.
