Just got mine today, upgraded from a CCwGTV 4k and after using it I think I am going to return it and go back to CCwGTV. First of all I always had my streaming sticks connected to the HDMI in on my soundbar and had audio passthrough on my Chromecast and my Roku previously and it worked great. This way my sound bar decodes the audio and it works great. Tv always displays if it is DD, DD+, etc. Well the Google streamer does not support audio passthrough whatsoever that I can find and decodes everything. I have it connected to HDMI in on my soundbar and it displays DTHD on my TV for everything even if its PCM audio. Soundbar now only plays PCM out of the 2 stereo speakers where previously using CCwGTV my soundbar would make it into 5.1 surround sound even for PCM, yes it is not real 5.1 but it worked really well and I no longer have that option. Also since the streamer decodes audio I have so many issues with adjusting the volume on my soundbar. When changing channels and apps, I will adjust the volume and it shows it is changing on the soundbar but the volume level stays the same. If you mute and unmute after adjusting the volume immediately changes to that level. Didn't have this issue with CCwGTV. And one more thing i noticed is the viewpoint resolution for YouTube and YTTV is 1920 x1080 instead of 4k. CCwGTV says 1920 x 1080 *2 aka 4k. Is it something to do with android 14 vs 12? Idk but makes no sense it would be lowered. To me this is a downgrade as CCwGTV was not that slow and I never had enough apps to fill up the storage so after being excited about this device I'm now so disappointed.

Been using this for the last few weeks and seems to work pretty good. I bought this because I thought that it might integrate well with "youtube tv" and it does. It also integrates well with other apps and opens apps such as pluto, plex, and Haystack news through the live tv. MGM plus now has surround sound and the streamer works with it. Most older devices such as the latest "apple tv 4k" don't work with surround sound from mgm+. I think the processor may be a bit slow compared to some higher end devices and doesn't have WIFI 6 but does have ethernet and seems to work pretty good. Overall, it seems to me to be a pretty solid product.

Pretty easy to install and worked fine without any problems.

Nice upgrade from the previous model. Much more memory, ethernet port, bigger remote with "find my" feature, Google Home app built in now! Only down side is the price.

The Streamer is way better than the older Chromecast plus TV.

I have been using this streamer for a week. It is hands down better than the Fire Cube that I replaced it with. It is by far more user friendly and easy to navigate.

I have had this for about a month and I am now buying the same device as a gift for a friend. Totally worth it.

Previous versions (Chromecast) have been great for their ease of use and UI. It's great to see this one has more capability for video and sound formats.

The Google TV streamer mostly works well. However, it sometimes freezes and needs a reboot. The 4k looks great.

I was looking for something like this and found it. Great for movie casting plus has google free play wìch has hundreds of chanel for free.

Great upgrade from the 2020 Chromecast with Google TV dongle. Faster navigation, better remote, and seemingly faster wifi connectivity even though it lacks WiFi 6.

Fast and efficient. Great addition to my living room. Replaced my old Chromecast. This a massive improvement. Favorite part is the find you controller feature

Despite more memory and a new look I've found this model to be basically the same as the prior version. The wifi seemed to lack and the option of connecting to a sound bar was rough. Audio is choppy after a bit. Of course rebooting solves for a bit. I won't be getting another.

Google TV is faster than on regular Chromecast but I expected a more responsive UI. There are still some lags and freeze at times.

Very quick response time. Replaced earlier model and this is night/day difference. Use in basement and easy connect to wifi. Picture is awesome as well.

I always get Google TV Streamer (4K) with all my new TVs—such an amazing product. I am used to it, and I love all the features. It syncs across all my TVs, no matter what brand or model.
