good choice alernative for the shield from nvidia,which own and prefer

We are a Google household so this was no brainer. Setup is easy and we can use the remote to check our cameras and adjust the thermostat. We take this when we travel so we can easier check on the house.

I had a previous version of the Google TV and decided to go to with the streamer. It's really nice to be able to project things from devices such as my phone without having to connect them physically.

Great if you are all integrated with Google system. Just hope the operating system is more simplified.

I bought this as a gift for my mother . Google OS easy enough for her to learn. Only complaint the price & the size of the unit.

I liked it but it was not compatible with my tv but thats not the device its mine but honestly the looks are sleek and amazing

I am enjoying the Google TV Streamer. It does not lag like the Chromecasts and the streaming quality is good. I also love being able to see my Google Photos (still needs a native app) on my TV and Google Home controls and cameras. Overall, it is a solid option.

After some weird bug that occasionally displayed the wrong aspect ratio the past few weeks, my streamer stopped displaying video entirely. It was still able to turn on my tv and change the volume, so I suspect this was a failure with video chip on the board. Went through basic troubleshooting (Factory reset, new power source, new HDMI cable, different TV), before contacting Google support. After being left on hold for 10 minutes they said that there was nothing they could do since the device is out of warranty (the 1-year warranty expired in January). I already had to RMA my first device in June due to similar display output issues, which implies how shoddy this streamer is. Stay away from this device if you are looking for a standalone streaming box.

Almost everything i like about the Google stick except to turn on the tv.you have to push two buttons instead of just one.

Not a massive upgrade from the Google TV dongle, but enough to hopefully last us some years. The upgrade feels worth it for the optimism of longevity. I was also wanted to move on from a hanging plug-in device. Warning: does not include an HDMI cable to connect to the TV.

A lot of the apps don’t work. Not sure if that’s Google or the owner of the apps fault. Interface is definitely faster with more memory. Apple 4K is a more solid streamer, has less issues as of right now.

This little device right here it’s very good at $100. It has all the features you will get on a higher end streaming devices. Very customizable lots of features are very smooth Device.

I bought 2 of these. One when it first came out. I returned because it froze and glitched. I figured it was software related and needed time. Fast forward to a couple weeks ago. I figured i'd give it another shot due to newer updates and mixed reviews. Nope. Glitched again. I think its just not ready and Google needs to go back and rethink this device. I wanted to like it. It "works" just not well enough.

Andriod TV is a nice platform and this is a good way to add it to a dumb TV or monitor with speakers.
