Continuous Rebooting

I turned it on yesterday and it continue to reboot itself. Received an error message indicating a corrupt file was found. Not sure it was corrupted as only Google update have been installed. Weird. Thanks Google for the corrupt update!!

The Streamer starts to blackout the screen for about 30 seconds and back on for a short period, then it blackouts again. After restarting the Streamer it will be fine for 3 or 4 days. I have tried adjusting the display settings hasn't worked.

I searched in the "Search movies and television" bar for Vertigo, one of the most famous movies ever made, and the result it came back with was the WebMD definition of vertigo, the medical condition. I'm not kidding. In this day of AI, the fact that it's not smart enough to know that I'm looking for a movie called Vertigo and not a medical term is ridiculous. Returned.

Good product, BUT....

The Nvidia is far more user friendly, and more powerful. Nvidia is also $100 more expensive. Otherwise this one performed well, HDR and Dolby Vision output looked great too

I purchased one and within 5 day the audio would drop every 15 seconds or so. Took it back, got a replacement, same thing happened. Software was up to date. But no go. Maybe if they improve it. But not now.

1. Check if you have a compatible HDMI cable.
2. Reboot the Google TV Streamer.
3. Check whether your TV, AVR, or soundbar has an audio offset adjustment setting
4. Check if the “Dialogue enhancement” and “Volume leveler” settings are disabled. If it’s enabled, turn it off.
5. Check if the surround sound setting is disabled. If it’s enabled, turn it off.

I did not feel like it had much value for its price point plus I feel like there are far better options for half the price

Not Worth Upgrading

Restart your device:
1. At the top right of your TV screen, select All settings.
2. Tap System and then Restart.
As a last resort you can factory reset your device:
1. At the top right of your TV screen, select your profile and then All settings .
2. Select System > About > Factory Reset.

No Plex, Ambient Mode slideshow doesn't work right

First thing I do is uninstall ALL streaming apps. Thankfully it allows you to do that. It comes with a bunch pre installed. Next I try to install Plex and... There's no Plex available. You can search in the app store but it's not there. Evidently Plex isn't supported on this device? Wow might be the only media device on the planet without Plex support. Next I try to set up the advertised Ambient Mode so that I can show my curated Google Photos album of my photography work on my giant 4K OLED TV. Note that my other Google Home devices like the Hub already have this feature but the screens on those all are awful so it ruins my photos. I've been looking forward to a device with Google Photos Album Slideshows that I can run on my TV for YEARS. Well guess what, it doesn't work! There's at least three different menus they give you to try to get you to set up Google Photos Ambient Mode and NONE of them show my personal Photography album! The same album in use on my other Google Home devices. It just isn't there! I counted to do a sanity check, I have 16 albums in my Google Photos account and all the menus for Ambient Mode both in the TV Streamer device and in the phone Home app only show like 8-10 of your albums. Conveniently missing my single album I wanted to display. There's endless prompts for it to made it's own dynamically generated album from your phone photos, but that's worthless. I'm a photographer with real photos to display and this device simply cannot display them it seems. I'm honestly speechless. The only two things I needed from this simple device, Plex and my personal photography album, it can't do. This device is literally useless. I don't care enough to return it I'll probably just toss it in the trash. I'm gonna have to hook up my original 2015 model Nvidia Shield TV and use that for the next ten years. Yikes. What a disappointment.

When I was going to hook up on my TV, there seemed to be a cord missing? Nothing to hook the TV to the streaming devise?? I was going to take ot back toBest Buy but I’ve been laid up with hip problems! If you can let me know if a cord is missing or if it hooks up a different way, would you please let me know? Missing cord or not? I only have one!
