Its small and compact and very good on battery life

This is the first GoPro camera I have ever owned. Upon using it I realized that the wide angle, non-focusable lens only works well in near field if trying to follow something. Once you get fifteen feet away from what is being filmed, the item appears to lose size and may also lose focus.

Haven't had much chance to use it, but so far, I am happy with it.

The GoPro HERO11 Black is very sleek with a sure grip texture. It feels very substantial but I'm concerned with all the glass on the lens, front display, and rear display. I'm worried about scratches occurring during action shots especially on the lens. I plan on looking for some protectors very soon. The rear touch screen is very crisp, bright, and responsive. It was hard to work the touch screen when it was wet but that's just the nature of the beast. I liked that it came with a carrying case with room for accessories. I don't know why my first inclination was to put the camera in the water but that's what I did. I was impressed with how easy it was to dry off. There weren't a bunch of nooks and crannies that trapped water. Also the camera wasn't perturbed by being submerged. I didn't find any odd orientations that it wanted to favor due to some air pocket. It just stayed the way you placed it which was great. The good and the bad was that it sank really easy so don't accidentally drop it. Included are some videos I took to show off clarity, stabilization, and slow motion. One is of a pet piranha being fed and the other is of a powerful hot tub jet. I was disappointed when shooting the piranha video because I could not get my phone to connect and control the camera. I'm not sure if it was because of the water or the glass. For the shot the camera was just secured inside the tank. The hot tub shot was very easy and done all by hand which I thought provided great stabilization. An annoyance I had with editing the videos shot was that the GoPro Quik app requires a subscription for most features. The biggest one being slow motion. Slow motion videos technically don't come out of the GoPro in slow motion. They come out at a very high frame rate so that slow motion viewing is achievable. The Quik app lets you choose multiple chunks of video to run at different speeds but when you go to save they require you to subscribe. I thought that this should have been pointed out before allowing premium features to be used. There are a lot of other applications that will allow you to edit your videos for slow motion. It just is an inconvenience since the Quik app already interfaces with the camera. I was very impressed with the numerous capture options for photos and videos. I was able to take some super wide angle photos and enable night mode. The 27MP photos were clear. With videos there are lots of options for quality and speed. I like that you could get up to 5.3K video. Then you could take all of that and turn it on it's side to get nice vertical shots for better viewing on social media. I just did a simple spin shot around the room and it looked like I had the camera on a mechanical tripod it was so smooth. I thought that the camera battery life was a little short. Maybe if I got into the settings and turned off the front display and/or lowered display brightness I could of gotten better performance. Honestly I didn't dive very far into the settings because for the most part it's just a plug and play type of camera. I also didn't have the situation to try any of the time lapse shots but I'm excited to find an opportunity. This seems like the best GoPro yet and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend people get it.

I can’t wait to use this during baseball season! Files are huge so beware, but that is expected with high quality video. I’ll also be buying backup batteries.
