This camera is LOADED with features and comes with everything that a creator/enthusiast could ask for (gimbal/light/wind screen/media mount). The gimbal works as a built in tripod and a Bluetooth device to help control the camera which comes in handy in all type of situations. The camera takes amazing video/pictures with 10 bit color turned on you have over 1 billion color shades to make editing so much easier. I recently used it at wedding event just to take a few personal videos at a outdoor function and the colors looked amazing, the contrast with the dark sky and DJ lights along with the decoration was amazing. I was so impressed by the detail on different items/areas in the picture, the 27 MP camera/sensor works perfectly. Now the biggest things that makes GoPro one of the best at what they do is the software and how easy everything is to use. For instance as with any product there is always an update when you open it now a days and at times the updates are a pain, this was not the case here. The updated downloaded and installed easily and without issue and after that the gimbal updated by it self when it was plugged into the GoPro, couldn’t have been any easier. The settings in the GoPro are simple and its such a plus that the app allows you to change them instead of having to only adjust them from the camera screen. Speaking of the app (Quik) its great and very easy to use and the cloud feature are a nice to have feature, i personally enjoy the Mural portion of the app which groups together your selected videos/pictures and creates little videos for you to view/edit. The free version works well but the subscription does have its perks to help with editing but I wouldn’t say its something that’s going to replace your laptop. GoPro does a great job with their software and has improved on how well hypersmooth works and added a new “horizon lock” feature which locks the sky in place regardless of how your holding the camera. I know this may sound gimmicky but its anything but that, horizon lock does wonders when shooting moving action. There are so many time lapse features to mess with that it would make this review even longer than it is lol but the features in Timelapse make it so easy to do certain things (startrails, vehicle lights) that otherwise would take some time and know how. Like I said this little camera is loaded with features and is a must have.

    GoPro Just Stomped the Competition!

This is a long review, so here is the short summary: The GoPro Hero 11 sets a new standard for action cams. The Creators Edition adds accessories that, with the new features of the Hero 11, make it an easy choice for the action set, vlogger, live streamer, or content creator. The Hero 11 should be at the top of the list for either first time or upgrade buyers. I upgraded from a GoPro Hero 8 to a GoPro Hero 11 Creators Edition, which includes the Hero 11 Black, Enduro battery, Volta handgrip/remote, Media Mod & windscreen, Light Mod, second battery cover with a port for the usb-c connector. There's also some mounting hardware and a case. I'm a cyclist and primarily use the GoPro handlebar mounted for videos and stills on road and gravel. I also use it hiking, although I'm starting to appreciate it's broader appeal. The stabilization is noticeably better than the Hero8, particularly on gravel descents. The new Superview mode widens the field of view allowing more of the path to be captured. In general, I've found wider is better for action cams. While I'm not one of the mountain bike descenders you see doing jumps, it's nice to have a rugged camera. I crashed on a gravel descent with the Hero 11 on my handlebar and it came through much better than I did. It's really built to take it. The biggest change to the Hero 11 over previous versions is the new sensor, which basically enables most of the new features. It's a big 27mp sensor that is faster and squarer than previous version. It's also the first to offer 10bit color rather than 8bit. The extra pixels don't improve the maximum video resolution, but enable even better stabilization, higher frame rates, additional aspect ratios, and a wider field of view. The 10 bit color increases the color palette dramatically, which is especially noticeable in stills. The new sensor also adds an 'autoboost' feature which increases the stabilization as necessary by slightly narrowing the field of view. It also adds full horizon lock, so the camera can do a 360 without the image rolling. The battery is the same Enduro battery that was introduced for the Hero 9/10. Where the Hero 8 battery life would shorten dramatically on cold mornings, the new battery seems much less temperature sensitive. Battery life is dependent on the frame rate and resolution chosen, but seems to be much better than the Hero 8. I also left it just sitting to test overheating, which was a problem for the Hero 8. The Hero 11 didn't overheat even though it was just sitting recording at 4K/60fps for over an hour. While overheating may still be a problem at higher frame rates. GoPro seems to have significantly tamed the problem with the Hero 11. I wasn't sure about the Volta hand grip at first, but it's proved doubly useful. It provides an additional 4hrs or so of battery life. It works well at various stops on group rides, I can quickly mount the Hero 11, get a bit of a charge, and record at the same time. It also provided an emergency charge for my phone on a ride. It fits nicely in my small handlebar bag. The Creators Edition also includes a second battery cover that has a port for usbc connector, so you don't have to use the Media Mod with the Volta. While not submersible, it is sealed well enough against dust, splash water, etc. I was able to find a usb plug to seal the port when the Volta wasn't connected for my own peace of mind. There are a whole host of features, such as the new night modes, star tracks, horizon lock, and ultra high frame rates that I've played with, but haven't really used. Overall, I'd have to say that the Hero 11 was a no-brainer upgrade over the Hero 8. If you're considering an action cam the GoPro Hero 11 should be at the top of your list, and really sets the bar for any competition. Highly recommended.

It's a sad thing to find out there after all these go pros, the company cannot figure out,What is the issue where all these go pro's heat up and turn off. And the first screws that hold the socket at the bottom of the GoPro becomes loose a lot I have to tighten that often ,so it does not fall off completely from the handle.

I've been a fan of handheld cameras since the defunct Flip. I love my DJI Pocket camera, but I've never owned a GoPro before. Comparing the two side-by-side, the GoPro is absolutely more versatile than the Pocket in terms of environmental situations, and falls in line with the new Osmo Action series. The glaring difference between those two options is that the GoPro has a vastly different software offering and accessories pack. In this case, when you open the box for the GoPro Hero11, there are two full layers of accessories, add-ons, different kinds of case attachments, and very, very little information on what each one does. In terms of the software, the GoPro operates perfectly without it, but it seems to offer a lot in the way of automatic uploads of clips, editing, settings tuning on the go, etc. Where the DJI has some wonky software quirks having to do with swiping to enable or disable options or trying to get the app to do something similar, the GoPro has none of those same quirks. I was able to use the app AND the on-screen interface to change modes, modify settings, and get things working how I wanted them to. During testing, I recorded a 2-hour long speaking event. The video was fantastic and easily customized and adapted to audio was very, very good and the battery lasted for the entire event while attached to the tripod handle thing (which also has a USB-C charger - and a similar lack of instructions). What I could not figure out was how to attach the tripod and have it connected to power the GoPro and also have the exterior mic case all at the same time. On unboxing, I had no clue what all the various attachments were or how to utilize them, the style of how to open/attach/detach is spring-based and also hard to figure out with no tips, and there's no included instructions on how to set up the various attachments for different scenarios (this is the ONLY reason for a 4 out of 5) -- any time you have to have an app to figure out how to do assemblies of pieces, that's a recipe for wasted time and frustration. The *only* thing missing from the mountain of accessories in-box was an extra battery. All in all, this GoPro seems really well suited for folks upgrading from another GoPro; as an intro to GoPro, it's a little overwhelming but if you have time before the thing you want to film, it's not as big of a deal. The attachments seem to allow you to do all sorts of great things on the go, and in terms of the one thing you want it to be able to do: film good video in a number of different environments, it's perfectly suited.

GoPro HERO11 Black Creator Title: Awesome combination of Camera & Accessories In the box: GoPro HERO11 Black Camera 1 curved adhesive mount (suitable for bike helmet) and 2 mounting brackets (1 tall and 1 short) 1 battery 2 USB cables (A to C) pictorial set of quick setup instructions booklet containing product and safety instructions. Media Mod (for GoPro 11/10/9) Volta (Battery Grip, Tripod, & Remote) Light Mod (Light & Diffuser) Not in the box: User’s Guides or other instructions available online USB wall charger SD card (requires V30/UHS-3 or higher) USB cable C to C Quick Pros & Cons: Pros: • Enduro Rechargeable Battery (1,720 mAh) works with GoPro 9/10/11 • 2 VERY secure batter doors for use without Media Kit • 5.3K video (60MHz), 4K video (120MHz), & 2.7K video (240MHz) • 24.7 megapixel stills from video • 27 megapixel still photos • Exceptional video stabilization • Volta tripod with horizontal and vertical mounts • Volta tripod can be used with or without Media Kit housing • Volta tripod can be used as Bluetooth remote • Media Mod includes exceptional microphone and wind cover • Light includes 3 brightness levels and diffuser • Light can be attached to Media Mod housing with vertical or horizontal shoe • Replaceable lens (sold separately) Cons: • Difficult to remove memory card without removing battery • Light Mod does not use camera battery or Volta battery grip for power. It must be charged and activated separately • Strobe setting on light is unnecessary • Could not connect camera with GoPro Webcam app on Windows 11 computer • GoPro Player app is unstable in Windows 11 with local account • ReelSteady for GoPro Player (Windows app) is purchased add-on Setup: • Camera, Volta, and Light were all charged prior to first use • GoPro Quik app installed on smartphone and GoPro 11 added • Camera required firmware upgrade using GoPro Quik app Camera Design: Small and rugged is GoPro’s claim to fame and the HERO11 is no exception. Front and rear LED displays offer live color view. The rear LED is touch-enabled to allow quick access to camera settings. The fold-down legs allow mounting without a separate shell. The HERO11 uses the same high-capacity battery (1720 mAh) as the HERO10 and HERO9. Lightroom has a camera profile for HERO 11, but no lens profile yet. Downloader Pro (part of my normal photo workstream) could not accurately recognize EXIF in GoPro RAW files (*.GPR). Media Mod Design: The Media Mod for the HERO11 adds a much more capable microphone and two mounting shoes for the Light Mod (one on the top and the other on the right side). There are also three additional ports, a Micro-HDMI, a USB-C, and a 3.5mm port for an external microphone. The Media Mod has no mounting legs of its own. A slot in the bottom of the housing allows access to the camera’s mounting legs. While there is a molded cutout in the shell, the mounting screw is cumbersome to use (at least for me). Light Mod Design: The 10-LED light is quite bright. There are three selectable brightness levels and two-pulse strobe effect (for which I see no useful purpose). A diffuser is included to soften illumination. A USB C port is used to charge the internal battery. Note, this is not a flash! The shoe on the Light Mod has no contacts for synchronizing with the camera. It does come with a two-footed mounting shoe to Volta Design: This is, perhaps, the most useful component of the Creator package. The integrated battery and capability to use as a remote are well considered. The Volta has a USB C male cable that can be used to charge the HERO11, Light Mod, or any other USB C device (e.g., smartphone) and a female USB C port for charging the internal battery. The Volta has two mounting positions. The top position includes is a three-leg mount with a “nut” for use with a mounting screw. The side position has only two legs and can only be used with another three-leg mounting attachment with a mounting screw nut. There are two such mounting attachments with the kit, but they only attach to a slip-in mounting bracket. It is not clear how the side mount can be used with the Creator accessory Mods. The Volta includes an additional battery door that allows access to the HERO11 USB C port. GoPro Quik Software Design: The GoPro Quik Software is designed to allow control of the HERO11 using a smartphone. It is easy to setup and use. The app can be used to turn the HERO11 on and off and to control all features of the HERO11, to preview the image on the sensor, to live-stream audio and video, and to upload images to the GoPro cloud (a trial subscription for the latter is included). The app also has access to all images and photos on your smartphone, your local network, and cellular data. I am not entirely comfortable with default settings. On my iPhone, I was able to restrict access to images, local network, and cellular data. Because the connection between the app and the camera is via WiFi, the contents of the SD card cannot be viewed unless local network access is enabled. GoPro Player Design (for Windows 11) I could not get this app to perform reliably on Windows 11 using a local admin account. GoPro Webcam design (for Windows 11) Could not get app to connect with HERO11 using a local admin account.

I’ve been using GoPro cameras all the way back to the Hero 3 - they provide one of the best solutions when it comes to capturing action footage and they’ve just become better and better over the years for action sports. For vlogging, they’ve come out with some great add-ons in recent years including the media mod, LED light, and Volta grip and now, they offer this creator edition which bundles all these accessories which can save upwards of $100. The Hero 11 itself is far and away the best action camera you can get with 5.3K video, amazing stabilization, as well as super slow-mo 120 fps, but my favorite feature of the new Hero 11 from a content creator perspective is that you can record in a new 8:7 aspect ratio. Now, although you likely won’t be outputting in 8:7, this aspect ratio allows you to capture in this near square format and then you can punch in for either vertical or horizontal formats using the same clip. So you could use horizontal if you wanted to upload to YouTube or Facebook and then re-crop to vertical or square for Instagram. I can’t tell you how useful this feature is for being able to re-use content. In terms of the accessories, the Volta grip is pretty handy where it serves quadruple duty as a grip, a tripod, an extended battery, as well as a remote control. For me, I value the extended battery and grip functionality a lot and also find the tripod handy, but its not necessarily the most versatile in terms of camera positions where you can’t really tilt the camera. You can rotate and pivot the camera but tilting it from one side to another isn’t possible which is something that would make it better. The Hero 11 already captures surprisingly good audio but the media mode takes it up another level with very good audio from the built in mic on the mod itself. In addition it also comes with a foam wind cover for reducing noise from wind. And if you want even better audio from an external mic, you can do that too as it has a 3.5mm audio jack for plugging in your favorite external mic. Along with that it has an HDMI port and USB C port And it also has a couple hot shoes built in so you can attach other accessories like the LED light that also comes with this kit. In terms of value, this kit delivers a lot and if you’re looking to get into content creation whether it be for YouTube, Instagram, TikTok, and better yet, all of the above, this is a fantastic value for the money.
