GoPro 12 is great, but lacks battery life. So I pretty much have to use the Volta

Not as great as I was hoping for. Can't hardly use it, no app for macbook yet either to use it more easily. But, too late to return even though it was a Christmas gift according to best buy.

Great for taking videos, but does not last long due to overheating battery and unit. Shuts off after using 30-45 minutes continuously no matter what setting.

The GoPro HERO 12 Action Camera is a quality camera that is both fun and easy to use. As someone who is new to action cams, I can say that this GoPro is very intuitive, produces excellent images and video, and is an overall solid camera. Setting up the HERO 12 was straightforward. I popped in the battery, SD card and then downloaded the GoPro Quick app.. Once you set up the app and connections, it will perform a firmware update which will take a few minutes. I have had a good experience using the app and was very impressed with everything you can do from the app. You can control the camera, power it on and off, check all your media you have created and even edit content. If you decide to subscribe to GoPro, you will unlock even more features. I'm not crazy about subscriptions, but after looking at what's included it seems worth it for someone who uses their GoPro a lot. Worth a look... The camera itself is easy to use even for someone like me who is new to GoPro. There is lots of versatility with this camera and there is a bit of a learning curve if you're a GoPro first timer. I have a lot to explore with this camera still, but I will say the Time Warp/lapse and Star Trail modes are aboslutley stunning. The battery life is pretty good for its size, but you may want to buy an extra battery or have a portable charger handy. Also, make sure you have good micro SD card with ample storage. This GoPro is a lot of fun and I plan on grabbing some accessories for any future adventures I find myself on. If you're looking for an excellent action camera you really can't go wrong with the HERO 12! Definitely recommend.

I went to Jamaica for a destination wedding took everything on my GoPro and Went snuba diving day before leaving Had it attached to my chest harness and. 3/4 of the way though I had it I came up and Somehow it is now lost at sea wish the design was better when it attaches to the harness and didn’t unclip I bought the insurance wish I could of got a replacement or a discount for another on it was fine while it lasted

The Go Pro Hero 12 is an impressive 4 star camera small in size, but not in features and quality. The setup was easy. Load in batteries, attach the base, and insert an sd card. The tripod mount built into the camera is very smart onboarding of something that can be easily lost. Go ahead and download the app and follow the onscreen prompts to setup the camera. Mine connected flawlessly. Then in a few moments I was up and running. The camera is quite good. The video quality is very impressive. The black backgrounds look good. The colors are rich.They do not wash out. The camera stabilization is very good too. I was worried because of its small size that video shaking would be common. It is not. High definition video is terrific. Simply amazing.The camera can record video in multiple modes. One being recording in vertical mode which seems to be the best way to shoot video for social media (according to my neice- who knows social media well). The photos are very good too. The video recordings can last up to 75 minutes shot in high definition. I have only shot videos in short order. 5 minutes to 30 minutes or so. The slow motion feature is amazing. The battery life is excellent. This is so important to a high quality feature rich device. I have not yet recorded fast action videos, but feel that the Go Pro Hero12 reacts extremely well in non fast action videos. Something to consider is that as you learn these features you can put your camera in an easy mode which might appeal to the average user more readily. The features allow a pro to do so many things that the average user may find them unnecessary. The 2 minor things thar make me rate at 4 star vs 5 star is the app which I find somewhat difficult to take all in. I have only had the go pro for about a week so perhaps with more time, I'll find the app more user friendly to me. The other thing that is a minor complaint is the battery/ sd card door. It is odd to open and feels like it is something that might break down the road. The last minor annoyance is the pushing of yet another subscription to save content and other features. Sorry, no. I am not adding subscriptions to a product. Overall the Go Pro Hero 12 is an excellwnt camera and I recommend it.

Boo hoo! Thing is down the drain. We had no use for super pro action camera, no concerts or skiing

I’ve owned multiple GoPro’s cameras. When I saw the GoPro Hero 12 Black announced I figured it was time to upgrade from my Hero 9. These cameras are designed for someone like me. I love getting action shots of me and my family out on the lake or attaching the camera to my helmet while I’m out cruising around on my OneWheel. The camera will get all the shots you want, won’t get destroyed by water and the videos look great. The GoPro Hero 12 Black is the newest release in the Hero lineup. First thing I want to mention is how great the enduro battery is with the Hero 12. I was able to get over 60 minutes at 5k 60 frames of filming. That’s a big step up from the old batteries. The other big additional feature on the Hero 12 Black is HDR video and photo. This is a major step up from my Hero 9. My videos and photos look much more vivid. I don’t know if the majority of the users will notice much of a difference filming with HDR on. My favorite feature is the video stabilization. Hypersmooth is what makes GoPro great. You cannot have an action camera where all your videos come out looking bumpy or blurry. Hypersmooth 6.0 makes all your motion videos look incredibly stable so that you don’t miss any of the action or your audience doesn’t get motion sickness. I took some video out on the river of me stand up paddle boarding. The video quality was amazing and everything looked smooth and clean. The GoPro provides something that you can’t do with your phone camera alone. It allows you to capture moments in places that would destroy your phone. You get to capture rare memories and that’s priceless. I own a Hero 9 but I have used a Hero 11 Black. The big question I would guess is whether or not to upgrade if you have a Hero 11. If the inclusion of HDR is a must have for you, then this is a no brainer upgrade. The Hero 12 Black is the best GoPro camera I have used and I would highly recommend picking this up!

They don’t even give a a coupon for like 5 bucks off just paid 664 for hero 12 GoPro 2 year warranty I mean cmon man lol

I ordered 2 of these because of the new time sync capability and that works great- they stay within a frame of each other across 2 hours in my testing. Both of my hero 12's have frozen already while charging - an issue going on 6 years with GoPros. Unfortunately they are VERY picky on which charging brick to use yet decide to not include a charging brick.. logic fail. Switching chargers (the ones that support 5 volt 9volt etc..) are more likely to freeze the camera while charging and if you dont notice when unplugged if it is slightly warm, you could have the battery burning power in your bag all day so it is dead when you go to use it. Let see.. some other useful tid bits: Timecode doesnt work with hindsight and if you buy the max lens mod, you lose many of the new features like HDR and LOG.(No loop mode either with max lens mod) Unfortunately with gopro, they advertise features but until you get it home and test it with your workflow, there could be limitations and unavailable features. Its still the best option in my opinion after looking at the competetion.

It is super easy to setup, upload, edit and produce!! The form factor is ultimately such an important part of the ease of use. The accessories that are available are almost unlimited, I was amazed at how many diffent styles of mounts one can purchase for this, like one for your dog, the fetch dog harness. The clarity of this unit is impecable, along with it's verstality in it's on board functions. Being able to record in portrait without having to rotate the camera is perfect! I would recommend this to any one looking for a great recording tool, for action or any of type of creative work.
