this was a gift for my son and he is thrilled with it

Companies these days, all they care about is maximizing profits. Not a complete upgrade, just upgrade enough so people will buy it. All of these upgrades could've been put on the 11. When I first bought the gopro hero, it came with a nice zip case, charger, 2 mounts, and usb cable. Now it comes in a paper container, no charger, 1 mount, and a cheap usb cable.

Love this little camera! Mainly got this as a general use point-and-shoot that I wouldn't be too afraid to leave outside. The built-in capture features are great and intuitive to learn, from timelapses, to slow-motion capture, this little thing has it all.

I like shopping at Best Buy because the service is fast and the products are of excellent quality.

Looks cool can't wait to use it! Bought this for documenting and fun.

I've had a couple GoPros in the past, but had issues with them, so I purchased the Hero 12 Black thinking all the bugs had to be worked out. After all, they started this camera sector, so everything should be upgraded and flawless by now. Wow was I wrong! Was going to use the camera for out door action and recording my daughter's club volleyball tournaments. I got about 15 minutes out of 4k 120 frames before it overheaded and shut down. Rolled it back to 2.7k but it continued to overheat, even at that setting the next day. I finally rolled it back to 1080p to try to salvage something to make highlight clips for college coaches, to no avail. How does GoPro expect you to buy a camera that is so glitchy, that a 2000s phone camera can out preform? Once again, this is their job! Make a camera that can actually record in all conditions! I guess the extreme conditions of indoors, and mid-70s is just too much for this camera.

I really wasn’t blown away by this camera. Since I took it out of the box and charged it, updated the firmware and decided to give it a shot. It remained glitchy and overheated twice and safety shutdown while videoing my sons basketball games. That was enough for me to decide to take it back to return exchange for the dji action4 and I’m glad I did. Haven’t had single problem and the footage is better anyway. I just feel GoPro are lacking in the development game and improvements while others are exceeding well beyond them. I should of known with my previous experience from years past with GoPro 3 and 7 to never go back.
