GoPro talks about how clear a video you get in 4K it is a great video but then gets to be to large to download

Failed after short time
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The camera, when it worked was just ok. There’s no zoom. Battery depletes quickly. Takes some time for camera to react after pressing a button. But it stopped working after a few days of use, so I do not recommend it.

Not great as a camera
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I’m not the best to write a review on this. I can only say that that I bought it for my daughter but she preferred just a regular old fashioned digital camera.

||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I am absolutely disgusted with Best Buy. I ordered this go pro 12 bundle for my son’s Christmas gift. It arrived, was added to the pile with faith in go pro and Best Buy, wrapped and presented Christmas morning. Upon opening the package we discover not only is the camera missing, both batteries and charge cable are gone as well. I call customer support the lady sends me a shipping label instructing I return the package and ensures me my package will be re shipped January 2. Only to get a denial email and instructed to file a police report. No return no refund and they they had me ship back any evidence! Never again will I purchase from Best Buy.

GoPro 8 or DJI instead?
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This does not come with a charger, no explanation on how to charge or update firmware. I have not tested the anti shake, but at 4K, this overheats after 12 minutes. On 1080p, the battery lasts ~2 hours 15 minutes. The gppro screen tends to stutter when the gopro gets warm. There are too many settings to tweak to get good video. I feel like you could get the same experience with the older gopro hardware, or a DJI action camera.

GoPro Goes Pro
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The GoPro Hero 12 Black offers a number of significant upgrades and improvements over the Hero 11 and one significant downgrade. The Hero 12 uses the same processor and image sensor as the Hero 11. Many of the new features are in aid of content creation post-production and video professionals. While most seem to be firmware enhancements rather than new hardware capabilities, there is one really significant hardware improvement, the addition of a standard tripod threaded mount. Yay! I'm a cyclist and primarily use the GoPro cycling, although I'm starting to use it more for general videos. While cycling, I use a handlebar mount, helmet mount and chest mount for different perspectives. I also used the GoPro for passing sequences, mounted on a tripod and on the hand mount included in the bundle. I'm not an expert by any means, but I have started doing some post-production video processing utilizing some of the new features of the Hero 12. The longer battery life is a welcome improvement, anywhere from (in my experience) 15% to 40% better than the Hero 11, with the most improvement at the higher resolution/frame rates. The image stabilization is still the best in the industry and HyperSmooth 6.0 is the best yet. Not only is it more stable, but the image shrinkage seems to be less. The addition of HDR video modes (and GP-log if I ever figure out how to use it properly) bring out better color in bright, high contrast scenes. The new video modes, especially 8:7 video, will prove especially useful. I really like the 8:7 format as it lets you switch easily between horizontal(think YouTube) or vertical(TikTok) formats in post-production.For the post-production geeks (getting there, but not quite there yet) there is timecode sync to syncronize multiple videos and GPlog and LUT metadata to assist in color grading. One feature that slipped under the radar is the new Bluetooth audio capabilities. Not only can you use a remote Bluetooth mike, but the Hero 12 will record separate tracks for the local mike and the Bluetooth mike, so you can choose which to use later. Additionally, and more important to me, the Hero 12 will respond to voice commands over Bluetooth. The voice commands all worked flawlessly without any training or other setup. The Hero 12 is also the first GoPro that will pair with more than one device at a time (up to 6, I believe). The Hero 12 is supposed to be better about not overheating than previous GoPros. I've never had any issues with a GoPro overheating, even on 95 degree days, but for the most part my longer videos are all on a moving bike with lots of air flow. The one downgrade was the removal of the GPS from the Hero 12. GoPro claims very few ever used the feature. While I never used the overlay feature, it was nice to have the geotag metadata to insert clips or stills on maps. The one thing I wish GoPro would improve is the charge time on their batteries. 90 minutes to a full charge is pretty annoying! The good news is that the bundle includes a second battery along with a nice case, the surprisingly useful stick handle, and a head mount. The GoPro Hero 12 Black offers spectacular daylight video and best in class stabilization. The new features, while not earthshattering, offer a lot of new function for both the enthusiast and professional with no increase in price. Highly recommended!

Let Your Creativity Run Wild
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It’s been years since I got my last GoPro camera which was the Hero 7. I loved it at the time so was happy to try the latest GoPro Hero 12 and in this case the action camera bundle. Unboxing you’ll find the camera and accessories nicely packed in a well made carrying case. Inside you get a floating hand grip, the Headstrap 2.0, a curved adhesive mount, a mounting buckle & thumb screw, 2 Enduro batteries, a usb C cable, and some manuals. Please note that no micro sd card is included. With the price of sd cards so low one would think at least a 128gb card would be included so you’re ready for use right out of the box. Make sure to get a v30 or UHS-3 card. I do however appreciate that two 1720 mAh batteries are included in this bundle and which provide at least an hour of shooting time each regardless of resolution. I popped in a battery, my sd card, and started charging. You get a usb C cable but no charging adapter which is fine because we all have plenty of them on hand. A card with a QR code directs you to the GoPro Quik app and instructs to update the camera before use. I already had the app so I just proceeded to adding a new camera. The app simply walks you through this process step by step including connecting to your wifi network and updating the firmware. You have to update before using the camera. Setup and update took less than 15 minutes. The GoPro itself has a black and blue speckled appearance with a slightly grippy texture. These cams are meant to take abuse so it is resilient and solid feeling. The Hero 12 is also waterproof to 33 feet and the lens is hydrophobic for clear shots of all your water sport adventures. The included floating grip will prove valuable for these situations. I got out my old cam for quick comparison to discover that the GoPro has grown up, now slightly larger in all dimensions with a larger lens and displays. I was eager to next discover what other improvements awaited me. First off the image quality has been improved with video resolution of 5.3K, high dynamic range photo and video capabilities and 27 megapixel photos. All of which was dramatically evident as I tested video and photo camera modes. Videos were rich, detailed, with vibrant color reproduction. Image stabilization with HyperSmooth 6.0 is impressive and is certainly far more advanced than my old Hero. Still not as good as a gimbal but very close. Adjusting modes and settings is a breeze with the onscreen interface by swiping down, up, left, or right you access every setting and function. I also like that you can display these menus in either a simplified easy mode with basic settings to a much more detailed pro option with endless settings. The GoPro Quick app mirrors all these options. I love using the app to make these adjustments simply because of the increased ease of manipulating settings on a much larger screen. I do wish that the front display was also a touch screen where you could adjust settings. Instead it acts mainly as a forward facing display of what the camera sees. Great for selfies. Another great addition is the 1/4-20 tripod mount on the bottom of this GoPro between two mounting fingers, both of which offer versatile and simplified mounting options. The Hero 12 also supports bluetooth earbuds and wireless mics. I don’t own a mic but with this feature just pair your AirPods and you have wireless mic capabilities plus you can use remote voice commands. It’s great experimenting with settings and I look forward to playing with the built in Night Effects modes including Star Trails, Vehicle Lights and Light Painting. I am truly impressed with the GoPro Hero 12 and I look forward to letting my creativity run wild with this camera.

Questionable store management
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Product is great. I purchased an open box item. Too my surprise it was missing pieces. The manager at the Temecula store said that is the risk buying an open box item. I stated to the manager that those items should have been included with the purchase. The manager gave me a discount but made me buy missing pieces. Disappointed, should have included items listed. Be aware of store managers making up their own rules. Next time I will go to Amazon and purchase through them. Less headache, better customer service experience!

Disappointed in GoPro
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I am not satisfied with this camera. The battery runs out very fast and you need cellular service. Not as fun to use, especially when the camera gets hot during use. There should be a disclaimer do not take this camera on a plane with the battery inside. Don't waste $349.99 on this GoPro

BESTBUY refund after Non Delivery is the Worst!
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.NOT a review of the product. But extremely poor handling of delivery by BestBuy. Item was not delivered by FedEx, their tracking shows Out for delivery 3 weeks later. Tedious and frustrating process to get my money AND rewards back. Almost a month and still waiting for my refund. Reached out via chat, phone several times. Awful way to treat your customers.

Excellent Action Camera With Some Minor Flaws
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Hero 12 Black is the latest and most advanced action camera from GoPro, the company that pioneered the action cam genre. It offers stunning video quality, impressive battery life, and a range of features that cater to both casual and professional users. One of the main selling points of the Hero 12 Black is its video resolution and frame rate. It can record up to 5.3K at 60 frames per second, or 4K at 120 frames per second, delivering crisp and smooth footage in any situation. It also supports HDR (High Dynamic Range) video, which enhances the contrast and colors of the scenes, making them more vivid and realistic. The Hero 12 Black also has a new HyperSmooth 6.0 video stabilization system, which reduces the shakiness and distortion of the video, even in low-light or fast-moving scenarios. You can also lock the horizon in any direction, giving you more creative control over the orientation of your shots. Another feature that sets the Hero 12 Black apart from its predecessor is its improved battery life. The new Enduro battery can last up to 2.5 hours at 1080p30, or 1.5 hours at 5.3K30, which is twice as long as the Hero 11. This means you can capture more action without worrying about running out of juice. The Hero 12 Black also has a new power management system that prevents overheating and optimizes performance. The Hero 12 Black is not only a great camera for capturing action, but also for sharing it. It has a new vertical capture mode, which allows you to record videos in a 9:16 aspect ratio, perfect for social media platforms like Instagram or TikTok2. It also has a new Bluetooth audio support feature, which lets you connect wireless headphones like the Apple AirPods to record sound or give voice commands to the camera. You can also use the GoPro app to edit, stream, or upload your videos to the cloud or your favorite platforms. The Hero 12 Black is also compatible with a range of accessories that enhance its functionality and versatility. One of the most notable ones is the Max Lens Mod 2.0, which is an optional lens attachment that enables a super wide-angle, 177-degree field of view in 4K60. This gives you a more immersive and cinematic perspective of your surroundings, as well as a better stabilization and horizon lock. The Hero 12 Black also has a standard tripod mount, which makes it easier to attach it to any tripod or mount without needing an extra adapter. The Hero 12 Black is not without its flaws, however. One of the drawbacks of the camera is that it drops the GPS feature that was present in the previous models. This means you can no longer add location data or speed overlays to your videos, which might be disappointing for some users who want to track their activities or show off their stats. Another limitation is that only a few headphones support the wireless audio feature, and the compatibility list is not very clear. You might have to do some trial and error to find out which ones work with the camera. Overall, the GoPro Hero 12 Black is a remarkable action camera that delivers high-quality video, long battery life, and a host of features that make it easy and fun to use. It is suitable for anyone who wants to capture their adventures, whether they are casual or professional users. It is also a durable and waterproof camera that can handle just about any environment. The Hero 12 Black is not perfect, the minor drawbacks are not deal-breakers for most users. I would recommend the GoPro Hero 12 Black to anyone who is looking for a quality action camera. I give it 4.5 stars out of 5.

Solid camera now with useful accessories included!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The GoPro - HERO12 Black Action Camera Bundle is a comprehensive collection for the action camera user and should be on your shortlist. The Hero12 Black camera itself represents a modest improvement from the earlier version but probably offers worthwhile evolutionary tweaks. I wasn't bowled over by any specific improvement but appreciate GoPro's continual refinements. The real "hero" in this offering is the second battery! Like it's predecessors this camera suffers from relatively brief battery life so the inclusion of the second battery can be a life saver! This is particularly relevant since charging the batteries is an in-camera arrangement and takes about 90 minutes per battery! (You can purchase an external charger if this gets to be too annoying!) Like its older siblings this camera runs hot if you are shooting extended hi-res videos. Like all lithium batteries the life is also affected by cold weather. If you can you should tuck the camera into an interior pocket when you are not using it. Another annoying issue is related to the Quik app. This has happened to me before on initial setup and firmware upgrades. The connectivity is very spotty and it may require multiple attempts to get the process to complete. Once completed things seem to be relatively stable. The positive features of the bundle are many. The camera itself shoots excellent quality video and there is a rich set of advanced features that allow you to control framing, exposure, resolution, stabilization and much more. Mercifully the default operation is run under an "Easy" button that sets all of these to reasonable values to get you running out of the box. Once setup, the app is pretty intuitive and comprehensive and you can do virtually anything from the app that you can do on the camera itself. This is a blessing since I find the phone to be easier to navigate than the tiny screen on the back of the camera. One last thing - the good folks at GoPro have decided to put a number of features behind a subscription paywall. Their marketing folks are quite aggressive and you will get hounded to buy the offerings. In conclusion - this camera takes stellar video and is light and rugged. And now that it is bundled with an extra battery and some useful mounts it definitely deserves your consideration.

||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought this for a cruise/scuba vacation. This kit clearly states it comes with everything you need to get started(of course we got the underwater housing separately). This would have you think it will work right out of the box but it does not. We now have no time to purchase one before the cruise so we are screwed. Thank you for being misleading.

Latest and greatest
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The GoPro Hero 12, like it's predecessors, delivers stunning, high quality action videos like no one else does. The detail and colors are really good. It's like reliving my adventures in high-definition glory. What blew me away, though, is how this thing handles low-light situations. I took it out for some night shots, and I couldn't believe the clarity and vibrancy. It's like the camera has its own built-in spotlight. And the image stabilization? It's like magic. I took it on a mountain biking trip, and the footage is smoother than I thought possible. The design is classic GoPro – tough and ready for anything. I love that I can take it underwater without worrying about extra gear. The touchscreen on the back makes navigating through settings a breeze, and the controls are so user-friendly. It's like they designed it with adventure enthusiasts in mind. I've dabbled in photography too, and the 23-megapixel sensor delivers some stunning shots. Shooting in RAW gives me the flexibility I need for tweaking later, which is a huge plus. Connecting it to my phone with Wi-Fi and using the GoPro app is a game-changer. Remote control, quick edits, and easy sharing – it's become my go-to tool. And with all the mounts and accessories available, I'm having a blast experimenting with different angles and shots. Battery life is decent, but if you're going all out with that 5K recording, having some spare batteries is a smart move. Yeah, it's not super cheap, but considering the features and the quality it delivers, it's an investment in capturing memories like never before. If you're even remotely into documenting your adventures, the Hero 12 is worth every penny.
