I love it so much. I just had to buy it for Halloween. Going to be taking lots of Pristine Quality Video and Pics with it on my night out. I just wished this wasnt was so expensive compared to the GoPro Hero 4 Silver Edition, considering it doesnt have an LCD Screen.... Battery life is exceptional, the GoPro tends to heat up. Its wise to get at least an extra to several Battery Pack if you want to capture every Moment in Video or Pics. But overall, I still would recommend this product to a friend or heck a gift to yourself. Its a must have ticket item for this Christmas.

GoPro Hero 4 Black vs. GoPro 3+ Black . The Menu system is a lot easier and faster to navigate. Selecting menu options doesn't require scrolling then selecting then exiting to choose it. Also, a one touch "settings/tag button replaces the Wifi button which works great because you don't need to scroll through the menu to find it. The "Quick Capture" feature which allows one touch recording when the camera is OFF, is a great feature since it takes less than 2 seconds to begin recording. The LCD menu system is also much quicker and easier to navigate. Double the frames per second at 4K/30 and 1080/120 is incredible. WVGA/240 is still available which wasn't disclosed in the advertised specs that I read. The LCD for the GoPro 3+ works fine with the GoPro 4. The cameras are the same physical size therefore all GoPro3+ accessories work except for the battery. Cons: Can't use my 3+ batteries, battery life is less and the camera is slightly heavier, which is to be expected if you want a video recorder with twice the processing power. Spend the extra money if you want to capture near professional quality video with a camera which is and faster and easier to use.

Very versatile, I especially like the time-lapse functionality. The flexibility, features, and resolution will make this a welcome addition to my videography workflow.

I have owned this GoPro for about a month now and I cant say enough good things about it. The new menu makes this camera better than the previous GoPros and in my opinion it is better than buying the silver addition. I believe that the display for the back like on the silver is not needed because of the extra wide angle this camera has it is not necessary at all. I personally would rather have better quality that will make this camera more usable in the future then have a screen on the back that I can purchase anyways if I choose to do so. The overall build quality and features you get are over the top.

I decided to buy the gopro hero black edition 4 because I wanted to go traveling and capture every moment in 4K. the camera performance was genius and video quality is excellent.

purchased my first gopro and decided to go with the best! A great camera, still trying to figure it out... but so far its a great purchase , and the quality is well worth the money

I had the Hero 3 Black, and this upgrade is just fantastic. And as always, the camera package comes with plenty of cases and extras. The 4K video is STUNNING!!!!

This is my second GoPro. My first one was stolen. I was heartbroken because I used it everyday for my commute to work, and for family play time on the weekends. I instantly knew I would replace the stolen one with another GoPro. I love this camera. It's user friendly, takes clear, sharp videos. I love that you can make exposure adjustments. The slow motion is a great feature as well!

The go pro is a great camera, it is easy to attach to my dog and enjoy the world from his point of view.

We've never had a Go-Pro camera before but the picture quality is fantastic. Everything looks clear and crisp. It was a good purchase.

Very good compact camera, but you pay the price for it. It takes great pictures at a wide angle. The two major cons I have found for this product is low light is not the greatest and battery life is awful.

I've had the GoPro 3+ For a couple of years and I was about to go on to Hawaii so I decided to upgrade for a newer one. And I'm glad I did. The quality is great and I got so many great shots. The battery life though is horrible so I suggest buy a few extras if you plan on recording a lot throughout the day.

purchase the 4k and it has been a blast record everything i am hook thinking about adding the hero4 silver too

I use it all the time to take great videos and pictures while diving and other activities that I do.

I love this camera. I didn't love how tricky it was to get out of the box! But once I got past the packaging, I found it easy to use. I cannot use the 4K yet because I cannot watch it on my computer screen. But I feel like it is a quality camera for a great price. Super happy.

Great camera. Used for zip lines and it works great. Fun to use and fun to watch.

The video quality this camera puts out is fantastic, and that's at 1080p 60fps. I'd love to see how the 4k 120fps looks, but alas I don't have anything capable of playing that resolution. Based on the 1080p 60fps, the 4k 120fps has to look absolutely stunning. If that were the only thing to grade this camera on, I'd give the Hero 4 Black 6 stars out of 5 possible. Unfortunately there is more to grade it on, and the rest isn't so awesome. For starters the sound just sucks. I'm sure with the skeleton back attached, the sound quality is at least okay, but the instructions specifically say to only use the skeleton back in clean, dry, dust free environments. That means pretty much the only way you will get normal sound quality is if you're recording your commentary while working on your stamp collection. For everything outdoors, which is what 95% of this camera's use is going to be, you have to use the full protected back panel, and with it on, the sound is terrible. It's very quiet and hard to hear, and sounds like it's being recorded through the far end of a card board tube for a roll of wrapping paper. Then there is the glitchiness. The camera tends to overheat (even in low 80's temps), and when it does it locks up and stops responding at all, or starts giving you SD card errors. The SD card error can be resolved by simply shutting the camera down and restarting it, but when the camera locks up you have to stop what you're doing, take the camera out of the housing, remove the battery, then put it all together again and restart the camera to get it going again. And it happens fairly regularly. The instructions say to check for new firmware for the camera regularly to improve performance, so I was hopeful a firmware update would resolve the glitches. Unfortunately, no new firmware is available at present and my camera has the latest firmware, so no help there. For what this camera cost ($650+ for the full package with backpack battery and various mounts) the bugs are unacceptable. Add in the lousy sound, and I would definitely look at other options from other manufacturers. I likely will be returning mine to BestBuy and doing just that.

We bought this camera for some action shots on our vacation. It was great for the action shots and work very well in bright and low light areas. I was worried about not being able to see what was being recorded, but it records everything in the general direction it is pointed. It is not great for capturing distance video (soccer game or swim meet), but that is by design.

Love how this GoPro works! Great resolutions! Must Get it!

This camera is absolutely amazing. I shoot a bit in 4k and I have a IFS 4k monitor and the shots at daytime are absolutely clear. At 1080p and 30fps even in direct sun the video is a bit hoppy choppy to me, I run it up to 120fps and it is smooth but can be beastly on file size. Used indoors you will need some decent lighting avail.
