I owned a Hero2 and a Hero3+ prior to picking up the Hero4. It's a great upgrade in a number of ways - resolution and compression quality, general settings, having the bluetooth in addition to wifi etc. One of the big upgrades was being able to do 4K at various frame rates including 24, 30 and 60 (whereas the 3+ had 4K at 15fps). Unfortunately I did learn that the camera, when running in 4K can be overheat and shutdown, especially if there isn't a good amount of airflow and the temperatures are hot. Overall, as long as you know this and know ways to overcome it, it's a great upgrade from the previous GoPro cameras.

If you have the support for 4K then this camera is a must have. Even in 1080P you will have access to a higher frame rate than the Silver.

This goPro Hero4 is hands down the best little camera ever. I'm sure something better will eventually come along, but there's nothing else that compares yet. If you're looking...just get it.

4K video is a nice addition and the quality is AMAZING on 4K television, but the battery life on camera is significantly reduced when recording. Battery will last between 20-30 mins and may need 4-6 backup batteries to get 2-3 hrs of video shortage in 4K. May not be practical for every user.

Used immediately and took under water video of a manatee and other diving photos as well as general footage. Need to get used to aiming, as there is no sight, but otherwise happy with purchase.

I would defiantly recomend this camera. I quality is amazing. And the underwater housing just makes it that much better. I love this camera. It also takes great photos to if you do it right

The camera is great, went diving with it and took some 4k video and it looked amazing! Not to mention that I could show the family what it looks like diving for tasty Florida Lobster!!

Way better then the old GoPro. Better image quality. Only downfall is that it likes to automatically click off after so many minutes of viewing being on. So when its on my sons dirtbike helmet, it never records the whole moto. Then when it upload the filkes they are all out of order.

Bought the Hero for a snorkeling trip. Great picture and and video quality. One issue was poor sound pickup. We went on a guided tour and anyone speaking was barely heard on the playback.

This camera is a must for adventure takers. Strap it on and be amazed at the quality and clarity of the video taken. Took it to the BMW test track in S. Carolina and became hooked.....

This camera has so many options to chose from while using a cell phone or computer app. Amazing resolution and a wide angle lens are a few of the things that make this camera great.

I use my GoPros for auto racing. They are hands down the best action cam on the market! The video quality in 4K is bar none the bast money can buy. Get a Black and don't look back!

I have never had a GoPro before and was fearful of getting one. They are super easy to work with. Adjusts are quick. Was able to adjust my first video quickly and make it look awesome.

Easy to operate. Great picture quality. Wide angle coverage is perfect. Heat up some times.

This is my second GoPro camera. It has all the same features and uses all the same accessories as my GoPro 3, such as the protective housings, and attachable rear LCD screen. The main difference is the quality of the pictures and video. They are much more crisp and clear.

I bought this GoPro for my boyfriend, and we both love it. The specifications and abilities that this device has is incredible. Definetly one of the smartest buys I've ever made.

Wasn't sure if I should go for the black edition but I'm really glad I did.. The Hero 4 Black coupled with the Sandisk card was my best purchase in a while.. I'm thrilled with it..

The GoPro4 is a fantastic camera for the price. 4K at usable framerates are just stunning. It has faster frame rates and improved menu navigation which are great. Go for it !!
