Great action cam. Mounted it to our FJ cruiser while off roading and got great quality videos, the free gopro studio for editing is also great for my needs. Definitely recommend

It is my first GoPro and at the beginning it takes some time to get used to it. I purchased the backpack to make it easier to see what I am shooting. I like the iPhone app to make changes without having to touch the camera.

The GoPro4 is a fantastic camera for the price. The faster frame rates, new features, and improved menu navigation are great. I upgraded from the GoPro 3+ Black to the GoPro4 for the faster frames per seconds at 4K, 2.7K, 1440 and 1080. But I am worried about the reliability of this new design because of the overheating of the camera in certain modes. I am an electrical engineer and know there are tradeoffs when trying to increase the performance of a system while keeping all other parameters constant. This is especially true because this new desing which has two times the processing power of its predecessor, in the same physical package, consumes more power. It's a know fact that if electronics are continually operated at temperatures above normal operating conditions, premature component failure will occur.I am certain the design team did everything possible to validate the operation and performance of the new GoPro4, but I don't think they had enough time to complete their work due to the unexpected early release of the product.

If you want crystal clear video and fairly good sound for outdoors, choose this camera.

There are so many variations of the GoPro that it was hard to choose. In the end, I chose the Black model for the ability to record 4K video at 30 fps, which none of the rest can do. The built-in WiFi makes it incredibly easy to know what I'm shooting without needing the LCD screen, and you can erase and trim clips right from my phone. Video quality is outstanding, as you'd expect from a GoPro, and I even use it as a dashcam. Battery life is decent, I get about 1.5 hours of constant use at 4K, and close to with the Battery BacPac. Definitely good to have extras on hand if you want to record more than that.

Can we say "WIDE ANGLE"!! This camera sees everything around you...I love it!! Awesome clear pics & video. When you add in it's teensy size and the endless mounting options, it can't be beat. I didn't give it 5 stars due to limited zoom range and difficulty seeing the mode screen in areas that are not well lit, even with my perfect eyesight. It could really use a backlight option for the mode/settings screen.

Love the Hero4, the only negative is the battery life. Buy an extra battery and charger

needs a screen. Hard to navigate without the screen isn't he back. But video is Amazing

Truly one of the best cameras I've ever owned. It has fantastic picture quality, is easy to use and super light. We love this camera. We now have it on our drone.

i have been enjoying my camera i like the burst and the clear image when recording. some cons are it's difficult to learn and sometimes when pressing the buttons it's difficult to know what occurred. also unless you have it linked to a phone theres no way to see what you just did. id like a screen and maybe a button for 1pic, a button for burst, and button to record. also didn't like the muffled noise it makes when its in its case. didn't take in water since we have an under water camera already but plan to soon. still room for improvement but wouldn't buy another just because of the improvement unless i was given a fair trade in value for my old one. wouldn't recommend for price until its improved.

good visual quality, easy to use video and still shots so far on bike rides and hikes

It is indeed a great camera, but when I used it together with the added lcd backpac it heats up pretty quick and shuts down on its own. I have 4 extra battery just to be on the safe side and capture everything that I want. But overall, I love it!

Good camera! The head strap is not good. And the camera has a short battery life

This camera is the best action camera anyone can currently buy. It has the best quality and can be mounted on anything you can imagine. The GoPro can get shots that are totally unique. I would recommend this camera to anyone wanting to get some pretty rad pictures.

is not easy if you a beginner but,won't regret, bit expensive but worth it

While this is a rather simple camera to operate, the editing software is not as intuitive. There is an extensive user's guide for the software, which I printed and refer to often. Because the GoPro is so different than most traditional video cameras you realize that it is really all about the editing. The action concept is so exciting that as a user you want to do the camera's capabilities justice and get out and shoot great footage but again, the key is editing. So far I have had to uninstall the editing software (GoPro Studio) and re-install, as it just stopped opening for me. As a result I lost some footage I was really excited about. This is not that big a deal, I will re-shoot, but I was in the middle of a project, so...Overall I like the camera, they do offer all types of helpful videos on how to use the camera and the accessories, but I really would love to attend a 1 day class on editing and how to use the software it if were ever offered. The GoPro camera is for a person who enjoys the outdoors and an active lifestyle (which I do), but is a bit advanced for the beginning videographer (which I am), but I am up for the challenge. I take it with me everywhere.

Great video quality along with audio. Easy to use after figuring out all the controls and settings. The app on the phone works flawlessly along with it.
