Awesome technology, the only downfall is the audio isn't really loud but I'm sure that can be fixed with software and experience. Great product!

Bought this camera specifically for snorkeling. In the past I had bought a waterproof camera that leaked within 5 days. I knew this camera would not to leak so I felt for a little more in cost it was worth it. Takes amazing video under water and I love the wide angle picture look.

This is a wonderful product, completely indestructible and water proof. We have taken this go karting, rafting, tubing, biking. It is great! The app is easy to use and editing is fun! Highly recommend. The Best Buy agent that helped me with this stated he has never seen one come back after someone buys it and I can see why! Mine is never returning

I was enticed into buying the Sony and completely returned it for the GoPro. Definitely happy I did.

It was not until recently that I finally decided on buying a new GoPro HERO4 Silver that I had long been craving for. I was in general happy with the image quality of the footage I recorded at 1080p@60fps. However, later when I looked at some of my footage, I found out that my camera had the notorious “helicopter noise” issue that is common but I was not aware of before the purchase. Basically, the audio of the footage recorded in a quiet environment with Wi-Fi turned on (regardless of whether connected to a smartphone or not) has the annoying repeated clicking noise that sounds like a helicopter. This pretty much ruins some of the footage I recorded. I would have returned to Best Buy for an exchange, but it was 2 days past the 15-day return window then. So I reached out to GoPro customer support by email, and 4 days after questions and answers and after uploading a requested sample video, they finally set up a return for me and said that they would send me a replacement. I had read a lot of discussions online about this same issue, and many people seemed to have had replacement cameras over and over again that did not solve this problem at all. Therefore I replied the support representative asking that they test the replacement before sending to me to make sure it would not have the same issue. I waited more than a whole week for a reply to my email, during which I also sent two additional reminder emails for a reply, but I never heard back. Then I used the GoPro online chat to catch another support representative to ask her to make sure there is someone that handles my case, and she said she would take it over. She replied saying that it is exceedingly rare for a replacement camera to have any issues, and that all replacement cameras have been tested before being shipped. OK, let me give it a try then. A week after I sent the original camera, I received the replacement one. As expected and as most other people experienced, the replacement camera I got had exactly the same issue. I immediately emailed back the support representative on the day I received and tested the replacement camera, and am still waiting for their reply as of now. If they still keep randomly offering defective replacement cameras, my issue will most likely not be fixed, and the long turnaround time means I virtually cannot use this camera for my outdoor activity which I bought it for. GoPro has a great market share in action cameras and leads the industry. It is portable and its great selection of accessories is unparalleled. However, those are probably the only good things I find about GoPro. From the technical perspective, its dynamic range is not as good as some of its competitors, and its software is buggy, just to name a few. Worst of all is its customer service. I had read quite a few reviews about its bad customer service, but I thought I might not need to get to customer service so I still insisted on buying it considering so many good reviews on the media about it. Never did I expect that half a month after I bought it, I would have to contact customer support. GoPro has the worst customer service I have ever experienced. I had never imagined that a customer service representative would not reply to emails at all. As an electronics engineer, the root cause of this issue is quite straightforward to me: the design lacks shielding between the Wi-Fi module and the microphone module which are close to each other, resulting in interference. This could be largely fixed by simply applying some metals to shield them. I could easily do it myself but taking it apart would void the warranty. GoPro Hero4 has been available for over 1.5 years. What surprises me is that this simple engineering issue has still not been fixed in its production line while there are so many complaints, and that when a new camera has this issue, there is still not a complete, hassle-free solution. If this beloved company did not work on improving quality control and customer service, I do not know how far it would go, and I would never buy a second GoPro camera again.

The Hype is real, the GoPro HERO 4 silver is amazing. I wish the accessories were cheaper though. *Pssst* go with 3rd party accessories.

This camera is so much fun, as I love taking it around with my dog just to put it on him to get his point of view! I now know what my dog sees!
