This is a really good solution for recording any type of action/sport that could damage a recording device. The built-in durability and efforts to shield it from damage do result in some limitations, but overall worth the sacrifice.

I put off upgrading, but the $50 gift card motivated me. I gifted my Hero3 to my nephew, and can't wait to try out the Hero4.

I've wanted one for a while but never had a legitimate reason. That was until I got scuba certified and plans for a dive in Aruba. Let's just say the video underwater is awesome! Before I went in the water over half the people on the boat also had GoPro's. One guy told me about getting a filter for the blue waters. Too late for that day but now I see what he meant. The pictures and video came out great but still very "blueish." So now I have a set of filters and NEED to get back in the water and test it. Camera comes with some attachments but there are many additional sets you can get for whatever activity. Download of the files was easy. One note: the GoPro program on the computer didn't play my videos very well but that may have been a computer issue and not their program. I was able to play the videos with other programs just fine. But the camera itself if great!!

As far as specifications go and versatility, not to mention the rear viewing screen...I think this is the best GoPro pick.

my 16 yo daughter wanted this before our Caribbean vacation- I agreed only if she would learn to scuba dive. As a teenager she found it easy to use, so I just stayed away. We have hundreds of underwater pictures and some video of sting rays. The recorder was easy to use, and we look forward to using it again in the future

Really portable, shoot great quality in video and pictures. Waterproof casing is awesome, and has a lot of mounting. It's versatile.

Purchased as a Christmas gift for my 16 yr old daughter. The biggest critique I have is that the camera should have a better image stabilizing component. The camera is action based yet it blurs much too easily. Fun and convenient.
