Customers are saying

Customers appreciate the HERO4 Silver HD Action Camera for its excellent video quality, user-friendly interface, and responsive touch screen. They also value its waterproof and shockproof design, which makes it suitable for various outdoor activities. However, some users have concerns about its battery life and the lack of a zoom feature. Additionally, a few customers find the price to be a bit high, but they acknowledge that the camera's features justify the cost.

so I purchased this camera back in February for my boyfriend and all it caused him is issues. The camera doesn't stop freezing on him it's completely useless. He tried changing the SD card and it's still freezing not worth the money

I was pleasantly surprised by the size of this camera being only a matchbox. It makes amazing videos and it is very easy to interface with either MAC or PC to download videos. My personal preference is to take SD card out and download videos. My 10 y.o. is able to operate this camera without any problems. I was fun to shoot a video from the front of the boat when kids were participating in cardboard regatta. I wish the camera came with SD card, because I didn't realize the SD card was not included (just kind of assumed it was). For that kind of money it should come with SD card

lcd screen goes to sleep during recording which makes it useless to even be there when you can't even rely on using the screen to see what you are recording, which makes for an unhappy customer.

I went through three of these camera's and on the fourth got upgraded. All had issues, and worked with multiple different support teams including GoPro support. All ended in returns!

The quality was great. So was the price and bonus offer. Problem was no screen for instant reply like with previous models. The trade out for 4 video wasn't worth it.

Great camera but...Do not buy for 4K video

This camera is awesome, I want to be clear on that. Easy to use, small, lightweight. The screen on the back is good for basic handheld use and if you are not going skydiving anytime soon, then this is a good camera! The only thing I noticed once I started using it was that the 4k video recording is pretty useless. It is far too choppy to make any video worth watching unless you are recording your friends watching TV. 1080P 60 FPS is an acceptable recording format for action shots, and for most people that will be more than adequate. I am just a little disappointed having a 4k TV and really not getting the benefit out of this camera that I hoped. That being said, I only took one star off this rating because everything else about this camera is amazing.

Bought the GoPro hero for action shots, which I used for bungee jumping, luging, skydiving, and ziplining. Having a screen to see where the camera was shooting was critical, which is why I went with the Silver. Battery life is a little short, so hoping the next iteration of the Gopro increases the battery life. Otherwise, this is an excellent product.

In 4 years - I have gone through (6) HD2 / HD3 and now HD4's - all have been temperamental, requiring firmware updates that sometimes helped and returns to GoPro for exchanges that sometimes helped for a little while. Long and Short I am ditching GoPro's and going to try Contours!

The GoPro 4 Black is the same price I paid for the 4 Silver and i was disappointed that Best Buy didnt do an appropriate discount for my purchase and charged me the same price as the model up and never informed me that I could be getting a far better value for my money. Hopefully next time customer satisfaction and service is a higher priority....

My go pro hero sessions has a better mic than the silver. I found out later that a lot of people had the same problem. Using an external mic helps. Also, I got many water proof cases and backings, but no lense cap or basic camera holder. So I had to buy one

The silver will be replacing my hero3black. Most of the feedback will be on the hero3black as I used it all last season, and don't have as much time with the new hero4 silver. For starters the video quality is amazing. It's clearly the best small action camera out there. Get the mounts as not having the mounts makes the thing about as useful as an ipad with no apps. Two quick gripes... first off the new hero4 silver while having the new lcd backscreen (cool# does not come with the wifi remote like the black did. With the significant price hike on the new hero4 I would have hoped they wouldn't be sticking you with a $80 remote that was part of the hero3 black. Oh well. Second I'm a big skiier, and if you plan on using the camera in the winter at all make sure you buy at least one other battery. You won't be able to get more than a couple of hours during a ski day before the battery goes flat. It definitely won't get you through a full day or even close even if you're only shooting for a couple of runs a day. I can't tell you how many times I've maybe used it for for a couple of minutes earlier in the day and get to some epic run having skiied all day with it attached to my head only to find the battery is flat dead. At least in the winter plan on needing at least one spare if not 2 spare batteries just to get you through a day. The battery life is relatively poor, and frankly aweful if you end up using the wifi #not recommended unless you have a pocket full of spare batteries).
