Great camera . Bought as a gift for my son and he loves it

What fun to use? Videoed myself riding my bike, then played on a TV in front of my treadmill so I can run the same route.

This is an amazing camera which takes amazing footage. Unfortunately, the camera started freezing after a month of use. Either you have to pull the battery or hold down the power button for 10 seconds to force a hard restart. This completely ruined the footage I wanted to take while on vacation. Changed video settings to something less "taxing" and the same result - the camera freezes after 5-10 seconds. Updated the firmware, same result. Changed MicroSD cards, same result. Even with no MicroSD card in the camera, the viewfinder freezes after 5-10 seconds. For the amount of money you pay for this camera, it's disappointing (to say the very least) to have this persistent issue at a time when I needed the camera to function properly. This is a great action videocamera when it works, but just know the risks when purchasing.

I purchased this for my dad for high speed endeavors like car racing and skiing. So far the videos have been high resolution and very smooth. He loves it. Easy to use, even for beginners.

I ordered this product on Monday 07/20/2015 and am receiving it on 07/22/2015. I am very satisfied with the shipping speed. great product cant wait to use my newest toy. attaching this to my new DJI Phantom 2 with 3 axis gimbal. great job guys keep it up.

I was initially hesitant about buying the Gopro because I'm not a "high tech guy". However this is easy to operate. It takes great pictures and clips & is easy to carry and mount. The only negative is the volume. Even without the waterproof case the volume is muffled.

I bought the GoPro Hero 4 Silver edition for my wife and after a month we started having issues with the camera freezing. We were told it was defective and sent the camera back and given a new camera. Fast forward a few months and 12 uses later and this camera has started freezing also. I emailed a very helpful staff but was told that unless I buy an adapter for my SD card that they could not help me. I am not trying to be difficulty but you spend $400.00 on the camera plus $65.00 on the SD card just to have it malfunction and be told that if you don't spend more money then you are stuck with a broken camera. I feel this isn't the right. If I pay for a product it should work. I understand technology malfunctions however I shouldn't have to spend even MORE money just to have the original product work.

My son saved up his money for this Go Pro! He absolutely loves it! Easy to use and loves to be able to see what he is recording.

GoPro does it again. This camera is so easy to operate and the 4K pics are almost 3D. Highly recommend and completely satisfied!

Loved using this camera while on vacation. I was able to take some awesome wide view pictures as well as videos without trouble. Way easier to carry and use than some others. However, I am not totally thrilled about the price.

What can I say! If your looking into action cams, then you have probably read numerous reviews on this one. I chose the 4 silver over the black because I have no use for 4k just yet. I don't even have anything that can run 4k video anyways. So the decision was easy for me. But if you want the best video you can get. Then the Black version is for you. The silver does do 4k also, but only at 15 fps. If your looking for a great all around performer, then the silver is a great choice.

Easy to control and presented it to my friend easy to hande with App on both phone and tablet. Quality is super good.

I am a first generation GoPro user. I have been completely satisfied with the first generation GoPro. I recently upgraded to the new Hero 4 (Silver). The video quality is a very nice improvement but its what happens after you shoot the video that you need to be aware of. First, it will not import directly into Win 10 (have not tried Win 7) without you purchasing a SD card reader. Not a big deal, but it took me 2 calls to GoPro customer support before someone finally admitted that unlike the first gen, the new Hero 4 will not seamlessly upload new videos. So then I turned to my iMac at the house figuring that might solve the problem. Nope. Apparently there is a file format problem uploading into the iMac (new machine). I called GoPro support on this too and after several predictable recommendations for a fix, they finally had to email me a detailed email on how to upload files to an iMac. I am fortunate in that I understand technology. If you are not comfortable trouble shooting technology I would strongly think twice about making this purchase. What should be relatively easy seems to be getting more difficult. Again, I am a very satisfied first gen user but I am a very disappointed Hero 4 user. The battery life absolutely sucks. The mobile integration is nice, but at the expense of battery life. We have used our gen 1 GoPro for skiing, snowboarding and surfing. We find ourselves today using the first gen over the new Hero 4 simply due to the poor battery life. $400.00 later and it sits on the shelf. Terrible. I would also recommend surfing the internet and you will quickly see this is not a remote issue - everyone is complaining of this problem. Why GoPro has not issued a patch or upgrade is beyond me.......

Purchased for our daughter. Perfect size, plenty of accessories available. Takes great videos.

I love my gadgets, and I have a ton of them. I waited a long time to buy a GoPro. Since Best Buy offered a $50 gift card, I finally gave in. I waited patiently for it to be delivered, and actually left work on my lunch break to go home to get it. After work, I got home I wasted over an hour trying to update the camera software. Finally, I gave in and called customer service. Another half an hour passes and the camera still doesn't work. I'm glad that I bought it from Best Buy because I was able to drive to the store and exchange it (another 45 minutes to 1 hour wasted). I brought the micro SD card with the update and a charging cord to try the update in my car, just in case. Luckily it worked. A couple of days and a couple of hundred dollars in accessories pass. I tried a ton of mounts using three different micro SD cards. Now, on to the software. It crashes, and locks up. A lot. I don't have old technology either. My laptop is only a couple of months old. Frustrating to say the least. I would expected a heck of a lot more, especially after spending $600+ all in. Not at all what I would have expected from a multi-billion dollar company. But what do I know, I'm just a consumer. (BTW, this is my first review on Bestbuy.com).

A perfect upgrade with the new built in LCD and improved menu structure. 1080p with 60 frames per second produces stunning video with great slow motion. Many new photo settings including night photo and night time lapse make this a good everyday camera as well.

I love this camera! I recommend it to anyone who is looking to purchase one of these for action.

Love the 4k quality and the size. really good camera

I've used the GoPro for pictures, video, etc., pretty much every mode it has as well and this this is phenomenal. Picture clarity is great, sound as well and the waterproof cover works like a charm. Took it diving in the Wekiwa Springs in Orlando and watching the video is almost as good a being there again.
