They also value its waterproof and shockproof design, which makes it suitable for various outdoor activities. However, some users have concerns about its battery life and the lack of a zoom feature. I am enjoying the camera so far. Haven't been able to use it in the water yet but look forward to the capability. Picture quality is great and the touch screen is nice. Took me a little bit to get used to the controls. I have found accessories to be very expensive unless you go aftermarket.

Use this camera to video my daughters volleyball games. Clarity of the video is great, much better than my handycam. Crisp and colorful. Because of the wide angle capabilities, I get a much better court view also. I need to add a wide angle lens to my handycam to do the same. Also, with the iPhone app, I can control the camera from a distance and not have to be right by it. Works great! I can stop and start the camera from my seat whenever I want. Only down side is the battery life. They don't last very long. I get about an hour of recording from one battery. I have three batteries and use all them in a day of video taping, usually three matches. Also, if you plan to use a tripod, you need to purchase a separate attachment to mount the GoPro on a tripod.

I am in love with this camera. I purchased it to record my keyboard gigs. I'm quite impressed with the quality it records even in low-light conditions. Very sharp detail- my only complaint is battery life. I can usually only record for around 2 hours before it's dead.

Did a ton of research on action cams before I bought this. Looked at Sony's, Drifts, GoPro, GoPro knock offs etc. Bottom line for what I was doing this was the best. Here were the deciding factors for me: 1) I dont need 4k. 4k is a chore to edit and for what I am doing (motovlogging) it was not a big deal 2) Silver has a touch screen and black does not. The touch screen is so much easier to use than the front LCD. Especially if your eyes are not the best. 3) Silver is cheaper 4) Whatever I chose had to have external mic connection Bottom line is I love this camera. It replaces an old GoPro Hero that has served me well but is really dated compared to this. If you are on the fence between this and Hero 4 Black. Consider the above factors. If you can live without 4K (Silver does shoot in 2.7K) go with the silver. If you are a pro and must have 4k go with Black. Also, Best Buy priced matched Amazon for me. I am extremely happy. If you want to see some of my footage search for "Box of Chocolates" on youtube. I am trying to post some stuff there.

The GoPro hero 4 silver is a great action camera. Its small and the video recording is great. The only thing I can complain about is the battery life but I always carry extra batteries so its not that big of a deal. The screen is the main reason I chose the silver over the black.

GoPro Hero 4 Silver gets a FIVE STAR rating from me. This camera shoots great video and still shots. I choose the silver over the black simply because of the integrated touch screen that the black verson lacks.. I shoot mostly 1080 at 60fps so the 4K really wasn't much to consider when deciding between the two. Having the intergraded touch screen is definitely a bonus.. After all if your ok with 15fps, then you can shoot 4K at 15fps in the silver version.

This is one of the coolest cameras I onw, definitely fun to play with and everything is so small... Probably the only problem I see is that the battery life has a bit to be desired, Love this camera. Takes great pictures and videos. Go pro studio is fairly easy to use

I bought this GoPro as a gift for my husband. He was ecstatic, needless to say, and immediately read the manual to give it a test run before the next hunting season started. We were very pleased with the picture quality and sound. He downloaded a free app on his phone which allows you to remotely control the GoPro. He mounted it to his hat and was very impressed by the wide field of view for pheasant hunting. The battery only lasts about 3 hrs, so it's a good idea to have a spare one ready to go. He looks forward to mounting it to his bow for elk archery season. Great camera and quality!

Purchased this camera for kayaking and canoeing as well as skiing. Works great for kayaking. We took it with us to Acadia National Park and tied it in the weather proof enclosure to the kayak. Dropped it coming in to the beach but the camera stayed dry. The screen on the back makes it much easier to see the settings. Need to get used to setting the field of view. I guess I am used to zoom cameras. Would buy again in a heartbeat.

I've been looking to buy a digital camera, maybe mirrorless for upcoming summer vacation. I wanted have portable but durable camera to use whereever I go. I've decide to go with this one over SONY A5100 Mirrorless because this is durable, small, water proof, and has so many third party accessories. Picture quality is acceptable when you compare with iPhone. Not much difference other than the wide angle that Go Pro offers. Video quality is a whole different story. It is speechless with 4k or 1080 60fps. you should see it for yourself.

My overall experience for the GoPro HERO4 Silver is great. Even though its not the BLACK edtion its still great. the HERO 4 SILVER has a built-in touch screen and allows you to do every thing that the front screen does ( change settings, Modes, ect;). There is really only a few differences between the BLACK and the SILVER, it is that the BLACK has 4k @ 60 FPS and 1080P @ 240FPS and down from there. The SILVER 4 has 4K @ 15FPS and 1080 @ 120FPS ( these are the highest configs of FPS it offers) see Gopro.com for more details. I Didn't go for the Silver because of the price, I went for it because I don't need a camera with 4k ( I have no use) I did however, need one with a touch screen because all the cameras I have had in the past, I used the touch screen back pack witch added a lot of weight. I can now mount my comera on my fishing kite with out it wheight it down. also the sound quality from when I do olay backs on the screen is great, sounds like its coming out of a camera. the mic is now better that ever. it picks up every thing. when you put it in the water proof case its stll a little muffled but no where near like the 3 or 3+. An external mic is no longer needed, unless you like having one, that is. And yes I would recommend this to a friend.

The camera has the most features of any in its class. It is very compatible with my iPad and iPhone 6. Shot some excellent video and for a close range action camera the quality can not be beat. Battery life could use some improvement, so buy some spares for a full days use. My only complaint is that when filming subjects greater than ten yards out they appear twice as far out even when using 1080P 30 Narrow settings.

I had planned to purchase the GoPro4 Silver for about a year, when I noticed my GoPro3 suffered the soft distance focus issue that affected many GP3s. After careful planning and a sale price cut, I ultimately chose this over the GP4 Black (also on sale at the time) due to the touch screen. The GP4 functions as expected from previous GoPros, but for those new to it, the touchscreen provides a much easier interface than using buttons to navigate the front panel. What really set the GP4 apart for me was the higher bit rate it records at. Set to 1080p 60f, the camcorder gets 30 Mb/s, double what my GP3 did at the same resolution, which results in very rich looking video. 2.7K video gets 45 Mb/s. I'm surprised GoPro stuck with USB Mini for this camcorder, since the Session uses the more common micro USB. If USB-C was put on GoPros, that would really help with data transfers and recharging. Unless you have the ability to watch 4K video at native resolution or just want the higher resolution, I highly suggest the Silver, it is a much more flexible action camcorder. In my case, it does daily driving videos just fine, and is good enough for longer trips.

We made a last minute decision while on vacation in August to purchase the Go Pro as we were on our way to Ziplining on Grousse Mountain in Vancouver. Wow, did it live up to it's reputation ! The video we were able to capture was phenomenal. So much so that everytime we watch it we get the same exhilarating feeling as if we were there again. It was super easy to use. This is a must for any adventure.

I purchased the camera primarily in response to an automotive accident inwhich the at-fault party lied. I mount it in my car and on my motorcycle. It produces high-quality video of a wide field of view. An almost endless # of mounting options are available to purchase at additional cost. Battery life is unimpressive, but I'm sure it's due to the compact nature of the camera. After the 40-minute morning commute, I must bring the camera into my office to recharge or I won't have enough juice for the one-hour afternoon commyte. Would I buy it again? Absolutely. I'll be returning to BestBuy in the near future to purchase more mounting accessories.

This camera is just straight out awesome it gets crystal clear images and has an awesome view of a lot of the things me and my girlfriend do Best part about it is that it already has the touch screen in the back you do not have to buy an extra piece for it having tons of fun with it and going on a lot of adventures with out having to forget any moment because it's either recorded or photographed

Viewing the videos shot on the Hero4 Silver on my new iMac 5K are just incredible. A sensational value. I use it for filming my young girls and it is so easy to use that they (including my 7-year-old) can use it. The LCD touch screen is great. I looked at the Black, but the Silver is a better choice for regular people, especially with kids. The Black does not have an LCD display/touch screen.

The camera itself is small and easy to carry around everywhere, not to mention the quality of video and photos that it captures is just what I was in the market for. We recently took this camera on vacation to the Virgin Islands and were able to capture underwater photos, time lapse videos and great footage to bring home and share with our friends and family. Probably the best thing about the gopro is with the technology that comes along with it. No one wants to sit through 30 minutes of your camera fumbling footage, where you forgot that record button was on. Enter, the go pro studio where you can edit your footage, and even create your own videos. Turn long videos into shorter, attention grabbing footage that you can share with everyone. I can't wait to use my go pro to capture many more memories- I highly recommend this product!

Recently went to a hotel in Grand Cayman where they had free go pro rentals. Because I liked it so much, I came home and bought one. The HERO 4 is nice with the large touch screen in the back. The camera has enough features for me. Comes with different cases for different uses. Works well underwater. I have a macbook air with no SD card reader, and I've had issues with downloading the pictures onto my computer. This issue was bypassed by getting a microSD card reader.
