Getting a bigger SD card then you think you'll need, they fill up quick. The phone app does a pretty good job of creating automatic video cuts, but since you can't save to your phones sd card, best bet is to use a PC.

Fantastic camera and has HDMI out

The new 8 and 9 I believe let you but you also have to fork out x amount of money for their media extension. This one also has the replaceable lens cover vs the new ones. This one also has the hdmi out vs the new ones, the night captures could be better. Overall a great camera and can save you lots in having to buy add on accessories to get the same functionality.
