I bought this to interview my grandma and mother in law. I thought it would be fun for the kids to use to get them engaged in the whole thing and make their own videos. It was not. It kept shutting off and overheating. I did like the app! But for recording long videos, better to stick with traditional camcorder.

Poor the battery will not hold a charger. You have to take it out of its case to charge it. It must be connected to WiFi to view it. Don’t like the product.

Bought this product for recording games and turn out to be a big disappointment. First of all the batteries didn't last but 20 min straight until i had to replace it. Then when i went to download the feed, I noticed it would stop recording at 8 min and start up again by itself.

Battery life is absolutely laughable. It freezes up all the time and battery has to be removed. Have used it twice since July and the front screen is already leaking. Worst investment I've ever made. I should have returned this, but I put it off too long.

I’ve had a GoPro hero 4 Sliver. I was very pleased, but after sometime I didn’t want to be limited 4K @ 30 FPS. So I looked around and saw that the Hero 7 was on sale. Out of the box the product looks nice, and has a new finish, but no protective case. No problem it was still a water proof action cam. However, what really stumped me was the camera quality even at 4K @ 60 FPS. I did some googling yo see if I could adjust the quality and I did. It still foxy the grainy, fuzzy and overall image quality. I really disappointed. Nothing against Best Buy but stabilization technology should not be a mediocre products selling point or the lack of A PROTECTIVE CASE. Don’t waste your money or time this is a overpriced camera.

My camera still glitches, freezes randomly,m until i take out the battery and replace it in and is unresponsive 8 out of 10 times I use it. Bad quality product with tons of bugs and no fixes in sight. Have contracted their support and have got zero help even though i tried flashing back stock firmwares, latest updates and restarting it multiple times. Also on 4k recording, it always randomly stops recording 10-15min into recording. Everytime i go swimming or snorkeling, water gets inside my actual GoPro camera lens and on one occasion where i was recording in 4k, the camera got so hot the glass lens removed itself from the adhesive of the Frame. Terrible experience and major quality issues. Would not recommend.

Functional. Good image. "VIDEO" stabilisation can not be turned off though apears can be, and is falsely described in advertising as FRAME stabilisation. Much is removed by the procesor. Live streaming is nice to be capable of. A real GoPro would be better and they are only about a hundred bucks.

Camera was only used 4 times before it became unusable. The few times I did use it the battery would only last about 15 to minutes. The trouble shooting and return process was fairly easy though, apparently GoPro has done it a few times.

THE WORST DEVICE YOU COULD EVER SOEND YOUR MONEY ON, this literally piece of garbage that I spent 300 dollars on literally does not work and stopped working aftet one time use. If I wouldve known that this was going to happen, I would have NEVER spent my money on this literal piece of trash. Its perfectly brand nee and doesnt charge, doesnt turn on. And plus their customer service is the absolute worst, I have not been able to get in touch with anybody. Abdolutely disappointed. I only WISH I could get even have of what i paid for this pointless item. Honestly ridiculous DO NOT spend your money. Its not damaged and COMPLETELY brand new also, And no one to contact for it. Gimbal Killer Indeed

The Hero 7 Black is the top-of-the-line model in GoPro’s most current line of action cameras, and it does not disappoint. Touted by GoPro as “the gimbal killer”, the one thing that makes this camera stand out from other GoPro models, including the Hero 6 line, is the incredible image stabilization that previously could only be truly achieved by placing a camera into a stabilization gimbal. Video shot with the Hero 7 Black is buttery smooth almost regardless of the activity you’re involved in. This works not only when shooting standard video, but also works amazingly when shooting in Hyperlapse, a mode where time is compressed into a fast-play video. Even on the Hero 6 line and its basic image stabilization, you saw jumps in the Hyperlapse from movement. The 7 makes it look rock-solid stable thru the whole video. The Hero 7 Black also includes a first-time feature to live stream video shot directly to social networks, including Facebook. Once past the new image stabilization, the Hero 7 Black runs almost directly parallel to the Hero 6 Black in terms of features and capabilities. The 7 features 4K video at 60 fps and 12 MP still photos. At the lower 1080p, you get lossless zoom and video shot at up to 240 fps (short bursts only) for super slow-motion video. If you want longer slow motion, you’ll need to use the 8x slo-mo. Rounding out the other options is a small touch screen on the back of the device, HDR photos, voice control to start recording or take a photo hands-free, and GPS tagging of videos and photos. Battery life is pretty good, but it’s hard to pinpoint actual life since it all depends on what you’re doing with the camera (stills vs. video, 1080p vs. 4K video, etc.). I carried an extra battery with me and after swapping out was able to go for the whole day. Charging uses the included USB-C (thank you for not using micro USB!) but does not include a charging brick for the wall. Or, since I have 2 batteries I splurged for the external charger that charges 2 batteries at the same time (at the risk of sounding like a commercial, “accessories sold separately”). I still find it maddening to get the camera out of the harness frame to get to the SD card or battery. I do understand the need for a tight fit, but the frustrating part is you are almost forced to push on the camera lens to push the camera out of the harness frame, leaving a nice big fingerprint every time. Not a huge deal, just a pet peeve. As of the time of this review, the price point between the Hero 6 Black and Hero 7 Black is only $50. I will say that it is WELL WORTH the extra few dollars if you’re investing in an action camera for the image stabilization in the Hero 7 Black. I assure you that you won’t regret spending that extra money. GoPro has outdone themselves with this camera solely based on that single feature.
