Best Hero yet
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.GoPro has gotten its mojo back with the Hero 7. It doesn't require a full-body case, which means its less bulky and easier to use. The image stabilization feature is excellent, making videos more pleasant to watch. Battery life is still short, about an hour, so buy a charging pack an an extra battery or two. Great product and a worthy upgrade.

Great video quality, color and sound! Perfect for
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.https://youtu.be/lA-p0lCpMfU (Make sure to come back and copy paste this link to see my whole video using the GoPro Hero 7.) I would like to start of with the fact that this GoPro has amazing footage! It allows you to shoot up close (perfect for vlogging) because it doesn't use fish eye. The Hero 7 has the option to shoot in 4K or 2.7K when stabilization mode is on. Its great at projecting everything with bright color and even records great sound. Our Hero 7 also came with a duel battery pack which was extremely great for shooting all day trips. I highly recommend watching my personal vacation vlog, just to see how great the footage really is. If you're into vlogging and adventure, this camera is perfect for you!

Amazing video
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Get ready to show the world what you see. Easy to use and great options make this the best camera I have used in a long time. My only caution is you will get addicted to buying accessories. Get a second battery at least.

Quality images - just not easy to mount
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The GoPro is an extremely durable camera and the images and videos are high quality. The wide angle lens captures great views. The mobile app syncs well and you can not only view your media, but make fun little videos with the built in "QuikStory" templates that have different layouts and music with them. My biggest complaint about the GoPro is that, unless you have a helmet, it is VERY difficult to mount or even hold. I tried creating a necklace, a belt and even tried putting it on a hat for recording some rides at Disney World. It was impossible to do. It would only take adding a metal ring on the top or on the sides, or a mounting plate on the back, to make using the camera more practical. If they would design a more flexible mounting system.... would be used a lot more.

Slightly better but not by much
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The picture quality is a little better than the 6 due to not having that weird purple hue that the 6 would have but as for mine I have been having issues with the 7 freezing up like the 6 to where I have to remove the battery. I’m am also having battery issues. When fully charged the battery will drop to 1% once I turn the camera off and on again. I’m not sure what is going on but I do hope that this is just a software issue than can be resolved soon. $400 to have issues like that is unacceptable, but I am patient being that the device is new and I am giving GoPro some time to fix this.

Go Pro 7 Black - Hero or Zero?
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I must admit that I always looked at the GoPro as sort of a glorified phone camera. But, without the phone. Those familiar with the GoPro already know about previous versions. So what's new in the 7? The first and best is that the GoPro hero 7 Black contains a brand new image stabilization technology called "Hypersmooth" which to me, really is beneficial and awe inspiring. I really did my best to defeat the feature, but hard as I might - the video still came out super smooth. Sure, previous incarnations had image stabilization but I cannot imagine that it could get any better than this. And unlike it's previous version now works with 4k. Second, there is a much improved (dual!) microphone that provides sound that doesn't overdrive in loud atmospheres, or try to overly boost in quiet scenes. Just like in the famous children's book - this time they got it "just right". The "super photo" mode is sort of an AI processor that chooses the best settings for the scene at hand. And it does do a pretty good job. Nothing I've done seems to be washed out like on some camera phones that have similar technology. It truly does do pretty well in this regard. Finally, you can livestream from your GP7HB directly to Facebook but will eventually (hopefully soon!) allow the same to youtube. Though, one has to wonder how well a live stream in a higher res (right now it's just up to 720) will work out on video sharing sites. Unless of course you have a high bandwidth plan with your internet provider. Timewarp, GPH7B's take on time lapse isn't really what one thinks of - as generally one would just have a camera pointing out their window and catching it that way. With this technology, it can be "in motion" shots (thanks to the stabilization technology). However, to me it just looks like it took normal "Hypersmooth" shot video and sped it up about 15x-20x. Kind fun and cool. But, a feature that I personally won't be utilizing (at least not a whole lot). The video quality is, again, much better than what I was expecting going into this. It is a ton better than a glorified non-phone picture phone. The build quality is very decent. The waterproof case gives me confidence that I can safely get it wet with no worry. I actually did this today to film my wife coming home in a pretty strong rainstorm. No water penetrated the waterproof casing. Now, with all of that said the biggest downfall of this is the (non)-intuitive nature of the camera itself. The controls on the back touchscreen gave me a bit of trouble. I cannot imagine anyone but the most tech-savy user feeling comfortable using this camera. It's very easy to accidentally switch from video to still camera; for instance. So, with all the new toys and hardware advancements "under the hood" - none of that matters if the user doesn't know how to access them! For those, like me, that are tech savy - that's completely different. But if the general consumer attempts to use this; I can see them getting mighty confused over how to use the camera (and if we are lucky all of the enhancements. Also, when I attempt to export the video files to the home PC I get either a "file is corrupted" error, or simply the computer cannot find the files. This also occurs on the app from the Playstore. So, sadly to me - even though this is great hardware - I do not see this product getting off the ground (even though they have been around for a while. I am only giving the GoPro 3 stars. It could have been a 5-star product any day of the week. But, the non-intuitive nature of the touchscreen leaves one to want to pull all of their hair out! If you are in the market for a great camera, and are techy. Go ahead and get the black model. But, if you wouldn't consider yourself that I would strongly advise you not to purchase this item.

Great an action camera
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Full disclosure: Moving up from a Hero 3 Black, so this is a massive upgrade from what I've been using. Use: Primarily mountain biking Time in use: Roughly a month. 5 rides recorded. Review summary: This is an incredible camera. Highly recommended for any fellow mountain bikers. Has to be said this is a massive step up from from the hero 3 which has resulted in footage so shaky it was generally unusable regardless of mounting location or method. Granted, that camera has been through some pretty rough impacts and definitely needed replaced. I've used this camera for a few rides now on the older version of the chesty mount. The footage is infinitely better than the old camera. Only bit of shake is over VERY rocky and rough terrain. I've never used a gimbal, and really didn't want the complication of another device to pack and charge. This has performed much better than I had hoped for. One touch on and record is a great feature, but not entirely new to the product line. Battery life is a little better than expected, but for long days, you'll definitely want a backup. Sound is MUCH better than the Hero 3 Black. Wind noise is reduced and voices are captured at a bit greater distance. All in all, very happy with this purchase!

No brainer of an upgrade
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've owned a few GoPros and this is by far the biggest leap they've ever made. The past few versions we're nice updates with the camera being waterproof without a housing, the voice controls but the Hero 7 Black brings all of that plus no more shaky video and a much better UI in the software. Honestly my footage from the past seems completely unusable compared to what I can get on this. I'm not some crazy athlete who does a ton of adventures, but I am someone who goes on trips and does want to document some aspects of my life. I love everything they've done with this update. If you have a prior GoPro I think it's worth moving up to.

Bad Camera, bad customer support, bad everything
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My gopro has been used a total of 6 times. All to record in the open and exposed to very little water. Its very slow, buggy and confusing. The camera refuses to update and even after getting in touch with gopro themselves they have not helped me at all. I’ve owned several gopros (hero 3+, hero 4 session 2 hero 6 blacks, and one hero 6. And now they pull this. I have always been frustrated with them. They're all show and no go. Battery life is dismal, camera quality is OK for the price, they have an insane amount of software bugs, and the platforms like “quik” and the gopro app itself are pathetic. You cannot get footage straight to your laptop instead they want you to pay for a “gopro cloud” which is total B.S. The reason I buy these is because I need a waterproof camera that lasts a long time for my various projects. You can tell by the 6 I’ve owned that they are just awful. I loved the company and the product but your better off with a much simpler and less expensive competitor. I’ve lost more footage and wasted more time to these cameras than you could imagine. Don't buy them, don’t get caught up in the hype it’s all just a sellout now. Unless you need it for one time use.

The Best GoPro Yet!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is The Best GoPro Camera Yet! The Hypersmooth technology while recording video is amazing and does wonders without a gimbal. The new time lapse feature is also another great feature to the Black Hero 7. My personal favorite new feature is the ability to go live on Facebook and YouTube! The Black Hero 7 is the only version with a removeable battery. The camera also works with both of GoPro’s amazing apps! Quikstories & GoPro App!! Don’t hesitate to go with the Black version over the white and silver version!!

Still amazing for it's age.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. When this camera was released, it was definitely 5 stars. The only reason I give it 4 stars is because it's now been replaced by 3 newer models. The newer model GoPros are definitely going to beat it in features and image quality. However, this camera still beats many of the cheaper Chinese made cameras you'll find on Amazon. So for those looking for a good camera at a cheaper price than the newer models, don't let the age of this one fool you. I still use one I have 3 years later.

Great Action Camera
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have used GoPro Black cameras for several years now and the GoPro Black 7 is definitely worth an upgrade. I have taken the camera on 4 Wheeler trail rides and the video stabilization is definitely improved over the previous version. I’m also looking forward to using the GoPro on my race car. GoPro is without a doubt a professional camera for recording video on the go no matter what you’re doing or where you are!

High expectation...big dissapointment
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I got the hero7black limited edition with high expectation... the design is ok, no big change from hero6. I can do more with my phone that with this little toy. Camera has no zoom. Noise control is null. Livestream??? Nahhhh I connected the camera to a very nice hotspot and tried livestreaming... ups.. reconnecting... ups... reconecting, it was a headache. It kept disconnecting every minute and the quality of the video when livestreaming was horrible... the video kept freezing and after 30 min...pop...battery died...neither I captured or lived the moment so I am returning this and may get a future model of this camera as it has a great concept but needs to improve a lot in order to serve its purpose.
