Got this for my son for Christmas and he loves it!! Very easy to use, great video recordings, and small enough to take anywhere you go.

Top notch stabilization and video quality but it will overheat durning long Hyperlapse takes. Batteries don’t hold charge as long as I’d like, and it has locked up on me several times. $500 camera shouldn’t do that.

This camera is great for outdoor activities. My husband uses it for tracking changes in outdoor areas he manages. No worries about using it in inclement weather. Has held up well to his use, and he is not particularly easy on technology when in the field. Easy to use. We were originally looking for small point and shoot camera, and we ended up purchasing the GoPro....something we had not even considered because we didn't realize it took still photos as well as video. Has served our needed function well.

I like this camera but... I was hoping for better battery life (it last maybe 30 minutes). I was hoping the software would be usable for instructional videos (it’s terrible) I ended up signing up for the GoPro Pro service but that is not great either. It takes hours for videos to upload. The camera gets hot. The tab that allows you to pull the battery out came off ( probably due to the heat). Maybe I have a lemon. It does take super nice videos and the time lapse setting works well. 3 stars

I purchased this camera to take videos of a hiking trip. It was easy to use, I strapped it to my backpack -so I could use my hands for climbing, while still recording. The battery was good (bought the bundle that included battery and carrying case) and the battery power lasted to cover each 5 hour adventure. Picture quality was very clear once I learned to adjust the hues based on time of day, and amount of natural light available. Although there wasn’t much of a narrative, when we were speaking, the audio came out very clear.

Bought this a day before our trip to St Thomas also took our canon 3200. Found myself using the GoPro constantly easy to setup and use awesome pictures and videos ended up just leaving it on 4K the whole time. It’s already water proof jumped right into the ocean and got great videos while snorkeling. Definitely great for beginners and pros alike. Purchased a battery and charging dock and two 128g micro sd cards will probably get one more battery and a couple more micro sd cards can never have to much power or memory.

This camera does it all. It's especially great for first time vloggers or uploading YouTube videos. You can live stream or just make ordinary everyday videos. Another great feature are the associated apps you can download on your phone to go along with the camera. Download Quik which will make short edited movies clips from videos or pictures taken with your GoPro. it will also integrate photos already stored on your phone if you like. The stabilization and video quality is unreal, too. Own one and enjoy it. You won't be disappointed.

The best GoPro to date. I went from a Hero 3 to Garmin VIRB, and now back to Hero 7. Hero 3 was ok because real videos were not smooth. VIRB was a lot better than Hero 3 because the VIRB incorporated built-in stabilization. Hero 7, with Hyper-Smooth stabilization, takes it to another level. Cycling videos are no longer jittery, but rock solid steady! Great job GoPro!

As an action/adventure camera, GoPro did a great job with the new features of the HERO7 Black. It performs well for short snippets, so for that design goal it does well. What would be nice is if the battery would last longer especially if it gets cold. It would also be nice if the GoPro screen had faster input response times. There is a bit of lag. Long recordings (ones that break the 4 GB boundary--why still FAT32???) are usually okay (no break in action) but sometimes can lose a few frames worth of audio. Like I said, though. their design goal was short clips of life and not long recordings. With the small design and various attachment accessories, the GoPro is fun to use to see action/adventure from a different perspective.

The Hero 7 Black is no longer GoPro's flagship action camera, but its lower price does make it the best value model in its range. Video and stills quality is excellent, the HyperSmooth stabilization makes a huge difference, and it's a lot of fun to shoot with. GoPro's new flagship, the Hero 8 Black, brings a more streamlined design and its forthcoming Mod accessories make it the better option for vloggers. But for everyone else, this version is the sweet spot for performance and value.

A great device but it has a hard time handling the technology inside. I used it in tough conditions and it has trouble keeping its temperature down even in rather simple applications. (2 brand new both same problem) I have to turn off numerous settings to make it behave itself. Something I did not have to do in previous models. YES, I use only GO-Pro recommended hardware but it's still somehow my fault. I still use it but when the conditions get rough I revert back to the Hero 6 that handles these conditions with no problem. The video quality is great.... if you have plenty of light but in low light, you get a lot of grain making the night shots unusable. You can manually adjust the recording settings and improve the night time captures but you have to do it before each recording. If I go from a white vehicle to a blue one I have to redo the settings to make the video a "kind of ok." (night photos are worthless) Maybe a good firmware upgrade will make a really good camera great. I missed a key capture at an event last month because it overheated and it shut down just before the run was made and we were only dealing with an 84-degree day.

I purchased this to use as a helmet camera to capture if anything happens, (or maybe just a wannabe vlogger) but I have ridden countless miles with this on and I have to say, it makes any road look smooth when going back and reviewing footage. With the 4K capability and the Hypersmooth technology, the battery does like to drain a lot faster, changing some settings like GPS and extras can help get extra run times. It is always a good idea to get multiple MicroSD cards and batteries.

I'm a huge fan of gopro and this is a sharp looking camera but I highly suggest getting a backup battery on hand. A few cons: -I have used my camera outside in 30 degree weather and camera still was getting pretty warm and im a little concerned when I use this in the summer. -The battery life isn't the greatest, you will need to have a backup on hand. - the app is a great feature but loading videos to view on your phone can be a pain at times meaning it will take forever to load or connection to camera is lost and other times it loads instantly. Anything recorded in 4k has to be downloaded vs just being able to be viewed. Pros: Looks great. Seems to be pretty durable. Great quality

My wife and I used this camera on snorkeling trips and found it easy to use after some practice and the video was very good. It would be helpful if the software was more user-friendly for editing.

I wanted a second GoPro so I could film 2 different angles at once. Didn't think there would be much difference between the Hero 5 & 7 but there are some. I like the menu much better, that alone is worth it. The stabilization is also much better. Would I buy a 7 to replace my 5, might not, but I would pay the difference to get the 7 over the 5. I am very happy with this camera as well as my 5. ALL the accessories of the Hero 5, including the batteries and stabilizer wand, are the same for the 5 & 7.

I purchased this camera because my daughters wanted to start a vlog. I wanted a camera they could use witthout me having to worry about them breaking it. The camera is easy to use and very durable. We have used it while swimming, hiking, trampolining, shopping, soccer games and it does a great job. the battery isn't great, but that is to be expected with such a small battery providing so much power. It does not include an SD card so make sure you pick one up that is compatible.

I went in to buy a GoPro that was on sale. It was planned to be used by my 8 year old at a water park. The guy helping me was very knowledgeable and helped me get the best model to suit our needs. We love all the accessories we picked out and have been having lots of fun shooting videos. This camera is so easy to use and upload from. The only thing I wish I would have added to our purchase is a battery charger to keep our back up batteries charged.
