Does exactly what it's supposed to do.. Using it for almost 4 years now, no complaints..

You want to take that camera to the waterpark, pool, beach, but don't want to mess up your phone but this. We take this on all water activities.

I got the GoPro Hero 7 Silver as a gift for Christmas (Christmas 2018). I can count on one hand the number of times I have used this product before it completely died and refused to turn back on or charge. Having tried everything I can to revive it, it still refuses to work. I have done a lot of searching online and it would appear that this is a very common fault where GoPros seem to completely die with no apparent explanation or reason behind it. During the time I was able to use the GoPro I did think even then that the battery life was extremely poor. Luckily I had already exported all of my videos from the camera before it decided to stop working so I did not lose anything however for the cost of this device you would expect it to live for a good number of years before packing in. Unfortunately for me, I also live in England. I have family in America so returning the GoPro without shipping it half way around the world is slightly more difficult.

I have had this camera for three days and have only managed to connect it to the app once. The video seems great and it looks sturdy, but I cannot use it because I cannot operate it remotely. I have called GoPro support and they are about useless, they are more concerned with which SD card I'm using. I will update this review if it ever gets resolved or I have to return it and get another brand

Long story short: As far as I can tell, it's not really made for adventures - it relies on Wifi (won't take a single picture without wifi set up) and it fogged up after a single snorkle and stopped working and the UX for setting the camera up is pretty useless. We spent 7 days snorkeling with sea turtles, octopi, sharks, golden rays, penguins and flightless cormorants and we have nary a picture from this GoPro. Longer story: We bought a GoPro 7 Silver from Best Buy as a wedding present for friends who decided to join us on a trip to the Galapagos for their honeymoon. It was supposed to be the perfect self-gift. We get them a GoPro and in turn, they'd share it with us on the trip. We bought the camera and they got the accessories for snorkeling and memory cards. On our 13 passenger boat on a 7 day cruise (read: not that intense of an adventure), our GoPro 7 quickly become known as white elephant. We did not realize until we were in the middle of the Pacific ocean that it would not take a SINGLE picture without registering online. So there went 6 days of awesome photos lost. My friend registered the GoPro (ad updated its software) in Puerto Ayora just in time for our last single snorkel excursion. After a single snorkel trip, the camera fogged up and stopped working. This is supposed to be a camera what works up to 33 ft underwater. So much for that. We bought the GoPro 7 Silver and accessories to capture our friends' Galapagos honeymoon and it failed miserably. A camera built for adventure should be reliable, work out of the box and take pictures in 2 feet of ocean. This did none of the above. Our observations were that the older GoPros (the ones that don't need wifi for set up), some point and shoots and a DSLR in a pretty hefty waterproof enclosure all did great. Save your money for those (and for a Galapagos cruise which was awesome).

Let me tell you this camera is a piece of junk. From the minute I took it out of the box it would not charge no matter what cable what outlet I use. Every once in awhile maybe one time out of 10 it will charge. It randomly powers itself off whenever it feels like it and the menu works once in awhile. I purchase the camera on June 4th and did not get a chance to play around with it until maybe two and a half weeks later. I realized then that the camera had issues and got around to going to Best buy today July 1st to ask them to exchange it for the better and more expensive gopro Black. They refused and referred me do the manufacturer who told me that it is Best buy's problem. I spent $4,000 at Best buy this month and it will be the last I will ever spend there. A 15-day return policy is ridiculous. What if it is a gift? That does not give any one time to check out the item and make sure that it is to their satisfaction. I'm throwing the stupid camera in the garbage and eating the loss and I will never shop with BestBuy ever again and anyone I know we'll hear this story.

Don't buy GoPro if you are looking for a camera to take on vacation. You will be FAR better off with you smartphone camera. Reason I say this is there is a huge learning curve with these things. Also a huge hassle to transfer the GoPro video/pics to a computer so that you can post to Facebook, YouTube etc. These are niche devices and not for the causal person going on a vacation that just wants to pickup a camera to take some vacay videos and snapshots.

This is one of the most substandard and unreliable devices I have ever had the misfortune of purchasing. The camera constantly hangs, often right when you want to capture something memorable. The touch controls are finnicky. And the app to connect to your phone is a disgrace by conventional standards. Half the time it never connects to the app, and when it does, it is designed to knock your phone off your WiFi network and connect to the camera's wifi. This is by far one of the most primitive device-to-device connections I have ever encountered. I am presently at an island resort in South East Asia and I am truthful in saying that this GoPro camera truly ruined my vacation with it's finnicky and unreliable qualities. It was better to just buy a watertight plastic phone holder and use my phone to capture underwater footage and transfer it to my photos folder and cloud storage. I will be returning the GoPro Hero7 immediately upon my return to the States. Should have invested a bit more money and bought a proper, reliable camera rather than this fad of a device.

I used the camera for bicycle, downhill and lot of times it hangs I have to restart or turn it off and on again… to make it works! The battery is ok you have to film 4k in order to get a full screen size! If you record in HD the size of the screen is smaller so it means you need a lots of memory cards! I will buy the dji action camera to compare both…

Use to have a GoPro and these products are non where near the same quality. I have to power cycle my phone to connect and the WiFi remote, which their site claims is supported, DOES NOT work. It also DOES NOT come with a water proof case like it use to. Rip off of what GoPro cameras once were. Taking it back and looking elsewhere.

After taking about 8 photos and 4 short videos, the camera no longer turned on. The lid that covers the USB port snapped off. It is, of course, impossible to reach a live person for any kind of support. Navigating the tutorial is also very difficult.

Time lapse interval is set to 0.5 seconds, you can't change it. It records for about 45 minutes before it dies. 5 minutes equals 20 seconds
