I was excited with the prices and features of this camera but ended up very disappointed. It fits ok in a dive housing and seems like it would seal properly, but the lens housing is built differently on the White and Silver and thus causes a large black ring around the lens to come into view and obscure a good portion of the view. For that reason alone this camera is not suitable for scuba diving unless some other case eventually hits the market. The biggest issue can affect everyone...I took one picture and the screen froze on the picture, I can scroll through the different modes but it never switches and holding the power button does nothing. Defective unit out of the box, very disappointing.

In my experience GoPro cameras are finicky, unpredictable, and unreliable. My Hero 7 Silver is no exception! The biggest issue is the camera refuses to charge for more than a few minutes at a time. I exchanged the first one and the second one does the same thing. Too bad GoPro has a market monopoly and consumers must tolerate such poor performing products.

What junk this is. The battery barely lasts a half hour. Uploading media to your iCloud storage requires an advanced degree in engineering or software development. The camera locks up. Sometimes, without warning, it will take pictures or videos upside down. I rarely post reviews of any kind, but this product was so bad, I literally just took a hammer and smashed it to bits. Felt great!!

I got it for a gift for my daughter. It was too much camera for her but by the time she opened it for her birthday it was too late to trade it in for a simpler camera.

Didn’t realize it had an internal battery. Didn’t last over an hour on full charge.

Not the easiest unit to operate, after using DJI products since purchasing this, would probably opt for the Osmo Action next time.

Good camera but much prefer the black edition. Lacks HDMI port but still a pretty okay camera. A little overpriced for the lack of features

I bought this to try the Hero 7 series. It turns out to be the wrong move. This lacks too many features which you would find on a YI 4k for much cheaper price. Like many complaints, onboard mic is garbage. Why do you do this? It is sad that you cant pair it with a remote like the Hero 7 black. I could buy a $10 selfie stick and it has a bluetooth remote but this $200 equipment cant do that? Sad. Also the touch interface is frustrating to deal with. I’ve had enough and returned it.

I put in a SIM card, did everything I was supposed to for the card to work correctly. Then , the camera FROZE ! I had a difficult time getting it turned off. The camera was extremely hot to the touch. As soon as I have enough time, I’m taking it back to the store. Either get it replaced or a refund. I was very excited to use it on my motorcycle. Guess it wasn’t meant to be. I’m very disappointed.

Bought for a Disney cruise out of New Orleans. Returned because Walmart had the 8’s for cheaper. Best Buy wouldn’t match the pricing.
