Good quality videos. Battery doesn't last as long as hoped for. Keep charger handy.

So sad to report that my gopro ended up at the bottom of the lake within 2 weeks of purchase because we cheaped out and didn’t buy GoPro accessories. The videos we did get before we lost it are amazing though. I’m not one for extreme sports so I never get the latest version since I think the updates are very “Apple-like”.

This was a good compromise between the Hero 7 and Hero 9, especially for the $250ish Open Box price. It doesn't need a cage to mount like the 7, plus is add some additional features like more efficient battery usage. The Hero 9 has additional features beyond the 8, but I don't think they were worth the additional cost.

Have had this camera for a while, and am still finding new things every time I use it. Love this camera. Use it mainly to film racing footage for my motorcycle track days and it can keep up with all the bumps and speed with no problem!

I was lucky enough to get this GoPro at a discounted price. I did extensive review between GoPro 6, 7 and 8. I was inclined to buy the 7 as it was not much difference from the 8 with the exception of sound, stabilization and color. However, I thought for 75 more dollars I can get the newer version which I did and I do not regret. I highly recommend buying GoPro 8

Easy to use but lacking in the instructions department. Also, the app for desktops/laptops is no longer supported. It caused problems with my laptop on first install but after uninstalling and trying again, was able to get it to work. Now, I just need to figure out how to kill the fish eye look in the videos. Wish they did that automatically.

We should’ve made this purchase years ago ! We’ve mounted inside our race car to capture races and since it’s also waterproof we’re excited to take to the lake this summer. The remote is the best. No more searching for my glasses to see a screen. It is a nice size screen for Go Pro’s. Most are on sale and make the purchase even better.

frequent freezes requiring the battery to be removed. Not to mention if your lens gets scratched... it's pretty much done. Do yourself a favor and get either the Hero 7 black OR the Hero 9 black. Stay away from this camera. Buyer remorse BIG TIME and we are content creators with multiples of this camera and all the other generations. This is one of the worst GoPro releases WHEN it works the video looks great for a gopro though...so that saved it from being 1 star.
