Well as my 2nd GoPro Hero8, I got reconfirmation of preferring this to the Hero 9... Why? - it still works well without being buggy - hasn't overheated on me - since it's cheaper then a Hero9, it gives me this sense of wanting to use it to get those action shots (I look at a Hero9 as a vlogging camera first/action camera second. - touch controls aren't laggy at all and are precise - video/hyperlapse/picture formats and settings are still very relevant and maybe too much for most people to use. I don't really have anything bad to say about this camera. It does require the batteries with the blue bottoms to get the most out of this camera if you need to use it in it's highest performance settings but it's not a big deal. I definitely recommend getting this camera in a bundle if you can. If not, you'd still be getting s good deal as this camera is quite versatile.

I'm not the best when it comes to technology, but this camera makes me look like I know what I'm doing! I wanted this specific GoPro, because a friend of mine has been traveling for about a month and sharing her adventures. She posted a video of her trip to Arizona, and the clarity and smoothness of the video made me decide that I NEEDED this camera! I love it so far. I still have a lot to learn about editing the videos and posting them, but I'm seriously IN LOVE with this little camera! I stayed at my sister's house for about a week, babysitting my niece while my sister had a baby, and my niece (she will be 7 in 4 days) said "An electronic product that can work under water??? I'M SO IMPRESSED!"... So many underwater videos were made, and I have to say the picture and video quality underwater are super sharp as well! BUY THIS GoPro! You won't regret it! Get some accessories too, like I did... they only enhance the awesomeness!

I enjoy using my GoPro. This is my third one I’ve owned. I upgrade for the capabilities and functionalities. Very user friendly and durable. Battery life is the only thing that needs improvement. Most can agree on that when you read reviews. Besides that, no other concerns.

Prob the best gopro iteration to date. The stability is almost near perfection with hyper smooth. The usage and menu setup is very intuitive. Only issue or Complaint would be the Overpriced adapter to use your 3.5mm mic. Without the adapter the audio is useless but the size of the brick makes it hard to add-on to your rigg.

I bought this to video my waterski practice from the boat. I was happy to learn that GoPro has a Beta version of the firmware that allows the camera to start and stop recording based on GPS speed and with that it only records while I'm in the slalom course just like my cellphone does. The image is much more stable than my iPhone, which is why I wanted to try a GoPro. The only downsides so far are 1) the iPhone App keeps trying to "update" the firmware to the latest version which is NOT the Beta version I need and 2) the stabilization prevents the camera from following the skier as it pans back and forth in the course (the mount follows the rope) so the video mode has to be set wider than otherwise needed. Battery life is about an hours in this mode with thirty five to fourty 30 second videos recorded.

Great action camera - go pro has awesome quality products , need the additional battery duel charging kit , it likes the batteries , so dont get caught with a dead battery - other than that - great camera ! Can't wait to try the Hero 9 !

This is my first GoPro but in keeping with what I've seen, the quality is top notch. It's pathetically easy to use. Sometimes the voice command takes a while to kick in and understand me but other than that, I'm very pleased and would highly recommend this camera.

Exceptional powerhouse of a video camera..packed with features..slo mo, stabilization ,time lapse,etc. With the add on Media Mod the possibilities are enormous. (external mic input,external monitor input,ability to charge battery while using) . Great product!

We bought the Hero 8 Black to record our family adventures and it’s been a blast to take with us when we do. Our kids have enjoyed being able to watch things we’ve seen and done and it’s nice to know that the camera is tough enough for them to be trusted with. As my review title alludes to, this is our first ever “action camera” but I’ve been impressed so far. The battery life is good. Not great but it’s more than adequate for our typical outings. That said, the batteries are cheaper than I would’ve expected and we bought a charger that can charge two at a time. The recording quality is amazing. I’ve found that the image stabilization works very well. Our kids love to watch videos they make and they have even recorded themselves using the time lapse setting putting LEGO sets together. Very cool! I am thoroughly impressed and I see why everyone loves these cameras.

This is a fantastic action camera. I love the 4k video and time-lapse/hyper-lapse options. It is super easy to use and no longer requires a seperate housing to mount the camera to any tripods or stands. This will also double as a webcam, which is AMAZING!

Love the editing software from gopro makes our trips not seem so long ago while editing a few videos to show the family during the holidays, video quality amazing, BUY EXTRA batteries, if you want to record in 4k it will burn through battery life

Have owned the Hero6 and was looking for an upgrade to take advantage of the stabilization that this offers. It was totally worth the upgrade! Picture quality is also much improved over older generations. Must upgrade for your next outdoor adventure.

Couldn't rate as excellent because of the new fixed unchangeable lens, and the new built in mounting tabs. Would be nice to be able to change the lens if damaged, or add filters, and wish it had a fixed tripod mount instead of two flimsy tabs. Is great in low light, and with stabalization.

Wife bought it for me as an early birthday gift. It's awesome. Very easy to set up and use. True 4k action camera. Only issue is that there is a huge latency issue between the app and the camera. I try not to use the app. Otherwise I am very happy with it.

Bought this for a friend and he loves it! He uses it on his motorcycle and it’s just perfect for capturing his adventures on the road. Reviews said this was perfect for terrain and they were correct would buy it again in a heartbeat!

You can no longer replace the lens like the older models, so recommend getting a screen protector for the lens glass. Don't like how the battery door almost always pops off when changing the battery or memory card. Bottom connectors seem like they'll break/snap off after time.

Took this on a ski trip and it worked great, although the battery didn't last quite as long as I thought. The videos look great, I just need to get better at editing them.

Excellent images shot in 4K . I use this with my son when we go biking. It’s easy to mount on the bike and record.I have a lot of memories taking with my GoPro 8 black.

This is the best camera I’ve ever purchased. I love to travel and this camera captures beautiful still images and clear video footage. It’s small enough to keep on your person at all times so you don’t miss any memorable moments.

I use the the camera to record my motorcycle trips. Very clear video, stabilization works good. The battery life is lacking. Only able to get less than an hour of video. Even with 2 batteries, camera dies before I’m back home.
