Way better stabilization over the 7. Finally, don't have to mess with cases when trying to remove the card or the battery. Big improvement over the last model.

Bought this for my son as he races dirt bikes. Needed something with good quality and durable...this was a great purchase for the price.

I use it for my motorcycle helmet and I never expected it to have such good quality at high speeds

I been using GoPro for many years and it’s a great action camera , I even got the Mavic mini and there is not comparative to each other. Best quality over all.

100x better than the gopro hero 7 silver and only 50$ more.. its worth every penny.. one thing I didn't like is that it didn't come with a frame

The GoPro Hero8 has clear picture and very good sound quality. This is a great little camera for live streaming. I cant wait to test out with my band.

Could have better battery Life. Pictures of objects (fishing flies) taken on a non-smooth white surface present the surface as yellowish in color.

I've always been hesitant about getting a GoPro, as I've always found the video quality that I get from my high end mobile phones to be sufficient when capturing family events, etc. After using this GoPro for a few days I now understand what all the hype is about. This weekend both of my kids had soccer games so I felt that was the perfect opportunity to put the HERO8 through its paces. Going in, I expected the video quality to be good, but I was floored at how good the action shots came out. Pros: - Slow motion! It looks really cool when you slow down an action shot and watch blades of grass flying through the air. - 4k video puts 1080p to shame. (make sure your microSD card supports 4k) - Voice commands allow you to take photos remotely for group shots. You can also operate the camera from your phone (both Android and iOS) through the GoPro app. - Audio was excellent. Even though it was windy this weekend, I could hardly tell when playing back the video I captured at the soccer fields. - The small size makes it easy to tote around. If you don't plan to mount it, you can easily slip it into a pocket. - Fully waterproof! Not just water-resistant! I can't wait to try this camera out during a future vacation in the Caribbean or even at a local pool. - I'm not a live-streaming kind of guy, but if that's something that interests you, this camera can do it. Cons: - With the small size comes drawbacks with battery life. After a full charge, I was able to use it off and on for about a total of 75 minutes before the battery got low. I wasn't a believer before but I am now on the GoPro bandwagon. Check out the HERO8 if you are looking to upgrade an older model or are just getting your first GoPro like me.

As someone new to this type of camera I am feeling a little frustrated. The times I am able to to record come out looking great. My main problem so far is the touch screen responding to when I turn it on and off. Not loving that it does not have a front facing display so you know where you are in the shot. Think I am going to return it for another model that does have that feature. I also feel like if I don't use my camera to manage the cam it is not as easy.

Great videos, photo transfer apt needs a lot of help. You will need at least 128mb internal memory. The apt will not save to a SD card.

Very good camera and takes excellent video. Only challenge is the battery life as you can expect to only get about 45 min. on a full charge. Make sure to buy extra batteries.

I was a bit hesitant to buy it. But. I change my mind. 4k videos are awesome. And kids can film with out asking for my cell

Setup Setup was flawless, installed GoPro app which helped me to connect my camera to the network and camera firmware update was received and installed right away. GoPro app lets you control your camera as well, such as start or end recording or download and sent videos. Design Design is near perfection, and size of the device makes use very convenient for every situation. On top of that it’s waterproof so you can use it in any weather conditions as well. Quality. I would like to address quality for several different modes and scenarios: 1. Steady video: Quality is really top of the line especially considering size of the camera and lens. I like this device and it might easily become primary recording device in my home. 2. Motion: This is where my results are lacking and the worst results are when recording surrounding area (in circle motion, even at slower speeds) or when traveling and making turns. Picture gets little choppy in those situation and I can’t even identify people or objects, and I would describe it as skipping frames in the videos. Yes, this happens even with stability control and in both cases while recording using 1080 and 4k resolution videos. 3. Pictures: I find pictures quality very satisfying. Overall video quality is 4 out of 5 stars. Storage support: This is another thing where I would rate device with high score. Support of high capacity sd cards it’s very important for devices like this one and I am currently using 128gb micro sd with no issues. Camera shows approximate of 3 hours and 50 minutes of video (in 4k) of 999+ of pictures with this sd card Battery: This is the biggest disappointment then it comes to GoPro Hero 8. Battery drains like crazy and not just when in use but when device is turned off as well. With fully charged battery I am getting display info of 1 hour recording time but I can’t confirm that at this moment. I know that my battery drains for 9% for every 24 hours while device is completely turned off. Even while writing this review I powered device and let it sit on the table (just as ON, no recording) and I lost another 19% in last 10 minutes. I truly hope that new firmware release will fix this. It also could by defective battery (or even defective camera) but since I got only one and everything else works fine, I can’t confirm that, but this battery is a big issue for me. Live streaming: Another great feature which is very popular and works great. If you like to do live streaming videos at Facebook Live or YouTube I would definitely recommend this camera. Overall: Even with all positive things I said about this camera, I cannot score this more than average because of the battery, simply because camera depends on the battery and it's durability. Great camera and small. Took it to Zion and San Diego ATV. Captured amazing footage. Definitely need to get extra battery packs.

It’s a great little camera/video recorder. I also purchased the underwater housing unit to use when scuba diving. Great videos and great pictures.
