Water got in it first time swimming with it in a shallow pool. Doesn’t seem to close securely. I put it in rice right after and left it over 24hours. Still had water in it. It still turns on but is slowly starting to have glitches from the water damage. :(

I purchased this for my 12 year old grandson. The viewing screen cracked the first time that you used it at the swimming pool. GoPro states that it is accidental damage and not covered. So, if you purchase the camera, wrap it in bubble wrap to protect it. It is not as damage proof as represented. Be careful. Be very, very careful and do not believe the advertising and representation.

The GoPro Hero 8 is in a league of it's own. I have this camera mounted to my motorcycle, and it is the total package. When paired with the GoPro App, I can use my helmet bluetooth for voice controls which is so awesome. I used this to record a scenic ride last night and the footage is unbelievable! The stability is great, the video quality is perfect, and the audio is good too!

Verbal commands are difficult to depend on. Very expensive for what it does.

Bought for a trip the salesman reassured me that there was nothing wrong with it. Go to charge it to use and it would charge, turn on, very disappointed to be in the snow and unable to video and there was no stores to get another. Memories on a trip with no videos in the snow.

I was not able to get it to work in OBS! It's really jittery and glitchy. It causes my MBP to overheat too. Proceed with caution if you intent to use it as a Video Capture Device in OBS. If I find a solution I'll come back and update my review but as for now it's a useless camera.

It constantly over heats when using the camera above 1080p mode. 2k I get about five mins 4K usually gets 0-30 seconds. I tried to return it but it was more than 14 days. Lame! Buy a 7 they work great!

I am non-sports person, but I love using GoPro. I always get exited about their latest releases, although I don’t always buy them…lol (Bought 2 so far) When I saw their commercial showing stable videos and the possibility of adding a flip screen to the new GoPro8 I knew I had to get it! This one has quite a few upgrades from my previous one, and it was really fun to play around with it. The main upgrade is the fact you do not need to put the camera into a case to attach to a mount anymore. Even if you go in the water! (Which is a great relief for my husband for having to exchange cases for me every time we went to the pool or the beach…) Another great feature for me is the 9:16 orientation for Instagram stories, (Yes! I love Instagram), and the presets to edit your videos and pictures in the GoPro app! It is pretty easy to connect your camera to the app (the app will guide you through it), but you can find lots of videos on YouTube if you get confuse with the settings. Anyways, if you love taking pictures of your family and friends on your trips, like I do, you will love this little fella. So easy to just throw in your purse. I like to use a little tripod and set the camera on burst or time-lapse mode to take the pics with me on it. That way I can capture the perfect one. And if you are into photo editing, this camera can shoot in raw too, which is great! Now I am just waiting to be available the Display Mod, for the front-facing color LCD, to make taking pictures and shooting videos even more awesome! Way to go GoPro!

Ok, I have tested this camera for a week now. I think that you've heard the hype about the new GoPro Hero 8 Black. Yes, I think it's the best action cameral out there but there are some new design changes they have made which I would reconsider buying a new one. Features that stand out that I would recommend purchasing or upgrading: -HyperSmooth 2.0- the steadiness of this camera is crazy good. It eliminates the need for a gimbal and it's almost shake proof. Now available on all frame rates and is adjustable. -TimeWarp 2.0- better stabilization during time lapse while moving. -Night Lapse Video- Time lapse at night in 4k, 2.7, 1440p or 1080p. You have to be in an area that is away from city lights to get better results. -Live Streaming in 1080p. -Better Wind noise reduction. -RAW in all photo modes. And now the things that annoyed me. -Now there is no detachable lens protector included with the camera. So if you scratch your lens, you're up a creek and you'll have to send it in to get repaired. An action camera without changeable lens protector. So you're going to have to buy an extra accessory to protect it. -The location of the usb port is in the same panel as the battery and the micro sd card. So now you will have to open the battery door if you're going to tether your power source. But GoPro is coming out with attachable mods to give the camera more functionality. Meaning more money. -The camera doesn't come with a frame anymore. Meaning less protection for the body. But the camera is built now with flip out feet to attach to the mounts now. I'm not too crazy about this feature because what happens when they break? -Lastly, the camera gets very hot while recharging the battery. I guess that's kinda normal from the previous models but this one gets noticeably hotter than its predecessors. I just don't know how this will affect the camera's longevity. I do recommend this camera if you're looking to upgrade the video quality and functions but I do not recommend this camera if you're going to be rugged with it. Like I mentioned before, you'll have less protection unless you get a case for it.

Worst open box purchase so far. The box arrived with something rattling inside. Gopro clips were rolling around with its sticker used and the camera was dusty. I returned it immediately.

Had to return cause it was dead on arrival. Hopefully an anomaly since this brand is so popular.

What a piece of crap, one year old and will not even turn on. Do not buy this camera.

It said it was in stock and ready in an hour before purchase. I hit the purchase part and got a text update saying you can pick it up tomorrow. There’s a reason I searched for IN STOCK.

Returned this 8 and bought a 9 for cheaper directly from the manufacturer. #BestBuySucks

Absolutely love it! Works great for my kids sports. Video is great! Really easy to use. Loved it so much I bought a second one.

Took it on a trip and did not work! Had to get a replacement after my trip! Very upset!
