It didn't work..returned and got a refund. It was an open box item

Took it back. Couldn’t keep a reliable connection for live videos even on home wifi.

I like the image quality and I like that it is easy to carry around. And it is a good camera to have for action videos. But a lot of the features like switch from video mode to photo mode can be a bit tricky and can take a lot of practice. But it is still a good camera, I just wish that it's touchscreen features were easier to use.

I decided to opt for the HERO8 Black after carefully doing research. Being on a really older platform (HERO4 Black) the amount of new features GoPro added over the years is amazing. Although, similar to the HERO7, I do recommend folks to give this a shot if you have an older action camera. The settings aren't to complicated after you use it several times. Currently, I tested the newest features for me, TimeWarp (good for moving videos like snowboarding) and TimeLapse (good for stationary videos like sunrise/sunset) and found them to be amazing! The touchscreen panel and livemode are pretty helpful for someone upgrading from a very older gen. On the contrary, when filming in 4K, the battery does drain pretty fast so it is recommend to keep spares on hand. The battery/microSD slot door can be a bit tough to pry open. The camera did run a little hot when filming a 4K TimeLapse video for 15 minutes. Overall, a great little camera with a lot of neat features. I haven't tested this underwater yet, stay tuned...

Best camera ever, I liked since the first time I used it, the resolution and the battery length!

The HERO8 is definitely a large step up in terms of video quality from the HERO7. While it may not be quite as good at the 9 or 10, if you're looking for an older model, but that still can compete with the newer ones in terms of video quality on more commonly used resolutions, the HERO8 will be the perfect one for you. Good if you need to buy multiple camera's to save money.

Camera picture quality is great but if you plan on using it for more than 20 minutes, look elsewhere. At fully charged battery not plugged in at 72-75 degree ambient temperature, the camera goes into thermal shutdown after roughly 20 minutes. After doing a little research, it looks like LOTS of other people are having this same issue. GoPro seems to ignore the fact that their cameras do this and offer tips to not use certain setting and limit the uses for the camera. I did not spend this much to only use half of the camera. Long story short: this camera is a lemon and GoPro knows it. I would look elsewhere if you are in the market for an action camera. You can probably find a cheaper option that is actually useable under normal conditions.

Overall this video camera is a decent one. However some frustration with the voice commands are too annoying to mention. With absolute silence to not have an excuse for the go pro to have a problem with voice commands unless you are almost right on top of it they dont work. Even when you are the go pro doesn't do them well. Several simple commands to turn on and turn off seem to be too problematic to use. Transferring videos from the device to relieve up space seems to not delete them along with deleting them be an issue. Ive deleted the videos several times only to power on and off to have them reappear. Video quality is excellent.

This is my second GoPro Hero8 Black. Love the camera and its amazing quality and features. I bought this "open-box" version and I expected it to include a battery as they all do. It also says on the box that a battery is included. There was no battery so I now have to make an additional purchase. I don't know if it wasn't checked thoroughly by the Geek Squad team to ensure all original parts are still there, or if I missed something in the fine print that says there will be parts missing. The camera works so I'm happy about that. I am disappointed however, that the battery was missing.

I got this to replace my hero 7. I went for the 8 bc the 9 and 10 are too heavy for my application. It’s still heavier than the 7 and bigger. I much preferred the form factor of the 7. I don’t care for the mounting arms on the bottom and I also much prefer heaving two doors, one for battery and sd card, the other for usbc instead of one door for everything. Think gopro is going in the wrong direction making bigger and heavier cameras each year.

Son loves-skis, hikes and bike rides. This replaced one he got stolen so someone else must like!

Warranty sucks geek squad will not help with replacement even with warranty

Overheats after 20 minutes and automatically turns off. The battery that came with it had a sticker wrapped around it that was coming off even though it was supposedly new. The battery only lasts for 40 minutes total. Not to mention all the mounts are cheap plastic that break very easily. The computer program GoPro Quik doesn't even work. This thing is a huge headache.

Doesnt come with a microsd card. Small print stating this was covered by the store sticker. Very annoying to see my kid unable to use his Christmas present right away. Wouldve been nice to get a heads up from the store employee that helped pick this out.

Didn't work. Best Buy support was very unhelpful with resolving the issue. Not planning to buy this item from them again.
