Had to return this item. Was defective out of the box.

Bought camera about a month ago and still have not been able to use because it is defective. Best Buy would not replace and GoPro customer service does not respond.

Ok, so I got 1 to replace my cheap off-brand GoPro. Turned it on the 1st day to configure it and get the right settings. Then it just never turned on after that. I returned it the next day and got a replacement, and it worked fine for a day. I took it to the track to get some go-karting videos for my YT channel. Then it had issues again, the front red indicator light wouldn't turn off. I tried resetting it and it worked, but once I turned it off again it went straight back to the same thing, I couldn't charge it, the screen was blank, and it got super hot. Don't get the Hero 8, save the time and hassle and just go with a newer generation one. I heard the Hero 9 doesn't have any of these stupid issues so I went with that. Hope it works fine. I'll update this review if it performs well

camera started working but then stopped. Showed battery to be 80% charged but shortly later needed recharging. Now cannot get camera to turn on. Scheduled to take it in to Best Buy next week to be examined.

I fell like go pro has become repetitive. Really nothing new just a new name..

Horrible battery life. Constantly just stops recording. Turns it self off all the time. Huge waste of money

After 6 uses camera no longer will power on. Charged, removed battery, reinstalled battery, still won't power on. 2 weeks past the 15 day return period. Super disappointed.

The image quality is fine, but they keep breaking. I purchased four for my company to use, and two of them have been replaced a handful of times now. We keep going back to the old Hero 6's that we've got.

I purchased May 13, 2022 (2.5 months old). Used less than 10 times. It no longer powers on.

It was a used item but a good deal and rated nearly new so I gave it a try. After nearly a month I'm finally giving up and returning it. I could not get it to read ANY memory card with consistency. I tried Samsung, Sandisk, Lexar brands from 32, 64, 128, 256, and 512GB and each of them would return a memory card error despite reading fine on a PC and can be formatted on a PC. Formatting on the camera just ends up on an endless loop.

Camera will not turn on. Bought it brand new but never use it because it wont turn on.

I bought this GoPro for my vacation and it worked the first day I got it. The next day, the beginning of my vacation, it didn’t work at all. I bought a new charger thinking that my cable was bad and it wasn’t. It was just a bad GoPro.

This is my first GoPro (or similar) camera, so while I don't have anything to compare it to, I've been loving it so far and it works great. The sound is a little quiet, but that's not important for what I use it for. The battery does drain rather quickly and you must charge it after each use. Quality is great, pretty easy to use, has good stabilizing feature.

This thing freezes constantly. You have to constantly take the battery out for hard reset. Then the camera won't come on at all. Hopefully an update fixes this but as of now it's really bad. Froze multiple times on my vacation out of the country. Missed some good shots because of this.

It is harder to use than we thought. We'll stick with our cell phones.

Terrible purchase worked for a few days then wouldn't even turn on. Returned it and got my money back.

Temperamental and not user friendly. I would not recommend this item.

Turned on once and never again. I have several GoPros and this by far is the worst model.

Broke first time using it after it got wet. Expected better from go pro.
