For the price and quality this is the best one to pick. I felt like I got the best bang for my buck.

The GoPro worked great the first time I used it as the pictures & videos came out clear. However, I was not able to save anything without purchasing a package for storage. I tried to turn on the camera 3 months after the first use and it would not turn on. I tried to troubleshoot and I had no luck. It was a one time use and I have no videos or pictures for the memories.

This camera went beyond my expectations! It was a gift for my boyfriend and he loved it!!!

Picture and video quality is very good. But operating the device to record video seems to be a tedious process!

Great upgrade from the Gopro Hero 8 Black. New larger battery for longer record time. The return removable lens cover is enough of an upgrade from the 8 alone. Larger size from previous models doesn't bother me.

This model is outstanding. I must say the hypersmooth makes a huge noticable difference and i have been nothing but impressed. I use mine mostly for diving and its just perfect. Would definitely recommend spending tbe money fir this model as opposed to older models.

For context, I have a Hero8 and I like it. The Hero9 much less so. Here's the short version of my experience: The Hero9 is bulkier than the Hero8 and much more glitchy. Specifically, the rear LCD is unreliable and the unit will occasionally freeze up. This is after I updated to the most recent firmware (v1.22). The long version: I bought the Hero9 because of the horizon leveling feature. The GoPro app has a horizon leveler for previous generations of GoPro (like my Hero8), but the only way to get files into the app is wirelessly, so it can take hours to move files depending on their size. I wasn't willing to wait for hours with my iPad and camera offline, so I thought the Hero9 would solve my problem with the horizon leveling in camera. My plan was to skip the app entirely and edit the leveled video in my video editor. It can be done this way... when the Hero9 works. But frankly, it's laughably glitchy--the most frustrating glitches are the freezes (which require a person to pull the battery) and the LCD screen that seems to have a mind of its own. Sometimes it will register a press, other times it won't. Sometimes when you are trying to press, it will scroll, or vice versa. In my experience GoPro customer service is subpar. For example, there is no mechanism to get help in app, where it would be most useful. After all, this is the means by which people are most likely to interface with the company, isn't it? Well, there are the two options: leave the app and go to a support website OR to send feedback. And there's no expectation that feedback will receive a response from GoPro--in my case there was no response when I was seeking app support, save the "we have received your request" bounce back email. Buyer beware. I would not purchase this product again and cannot recommend it. I don't trust it to function reliably and the form factor is less user-friendly than previous generations. In retrospect, a better choice for me would have to hold the Hero8 and invest in a more robust video editing software.

I've been using Go-Pro for years now since it's inception. I'm proud to say that I love my Hero 9 Pro Black.. I Dj, so it's awesome for streaming. Best Buy ever!!!

App issues ruin the experience of using this camera. I really wish I had read the support forums on the GoPro website, there are so many people who cannot get the camera to connect to their phone reliably or consistently, and when it does, you most often get a "Connection Lost" when trying to transfer media. You can eventually get the video to your PC via USB or using the SD card, but that really goes against what I need this camera for, as I don't carry a PC with me when I'm doing anything I would want a GoPro for. The lack of software by GoPro is disappointing, there are no great options without buying a third party app.

Still learning on this, my first gopro. Really enjoy the functionality of this camera from above and below sea-level, i have been taking amazing stills too !
