I would value the GoPro Karma kit at $2,000. A competitive drone is $1,500 and their gimbal is $560. In my opinion, their cameras are junk. They claim they have HIGH FRAME RATES and 100MBs per second. I have flown a few drones including a DJI Phantom 4. None of them offer the reliability, fun of flying or an included handheld gimbal. Also, the Karma has the fastest flying time from turning it on to in the air. The one downside to the karma is battery temperature, always keep them somewhere warm. I love the controller, it is compact and comfortable. Not only does it have a built-in touch screen, it uses actual software with custom hardware, not an app. This means fewer bugs that can easily be fixed. The pictures are from the Karma drone while flying it from inside my parked car (it was cold out). I tried to take these types of pictures with other drones but the apps were terrible.

Great drone for beginners. I wanted it not so much for the features but that fact it's part of the GoPro family and can be used in conjunction with other gopro equipment. The drone itself is good but lacks certain features that dji provides but I gave it a good review because I knew that when I bought it and lived up to expectations

This drone is a lot of fun and easy to use. I chose it because I already had a gopro so the cost difference between it and other drones came down to the fact that this one came with a case, a separate controller, and the gopro grip. Do yourself a favor and go ahead and pick up an extra set of propellers and if you can afford it an extra battery. The 18 min flight time is a little low but just make sure you know what you're going to record before you take off and you'll be fine. Also know that you have to register any drone with the faa and that's a $30 charge. There are a couple apps to download to make sure where you are going to fly is legal. I might have waited a little longer to purchase if I had know that most of Stl is off limits. But I still use and love this drone.

After going back and forth with DJI Magic...I settled on the Karma having the Hero 5 already and with the Karma grip included that was perfect for me. I've had it for about a month and unit has been easy to fly. I don't know why best buy doesn't offer warranty for drones , but I went on Go Pro website and ordered one as well as an extra battery. I'm not an expert flyer but the Karma is fun to fly and takes great pictures. It also comes with a sturdy case.

This is a great product, easy to use and fun. The only drawback is the battery life. It would be so much nicer if it lasted longer than 15 minutes.

I am in love with my Karma. I had never own nor flown a drone, and I was flying this like I knew what I was doing only after a few minutes. I love my Hero 5, and I wanted a drone, but all the other brands are not compatible with my Hero 5. I am not sure why there is so much hate, it's probably from people who are nothing but drone enthusiast, but this drone is perfect for me. I wanted to take my camera in the air and get great footage and this is it. It doesn't have sensors but the take off and landing is a piece of cake. Honestly, I recommend it to anyone who has been thinking of buying it because it works with your Hero. It's only $800, and you get a drone, a removable gimble and a backpack to carry all of it! You will not regret it!

Pros: GoPro branded/supported. Takes great video (if using HERO5). Very user friendly; Easy to fly. Since initial recall in 2016 (for battery issue), 2017 models are fully functional. Auto take-off/Auto-land features. Can fly pre-set patterns; great App Support! Stabilizer removable from drone and uses on a handheld. Great for smooth videos. Compact design fits well into durable backpack. Cons: biggest by far-20 minute flight time max (really only 12-15 minutes until auto-land feature kicks in), needs extra batteries to extend flight time (which are expensive $99 ea.); accessories, in general, are very expensive. Phone Apps can be glitchy at times; color correction in bright lighting can be frustrating. Summary: Great drone if you have a GoPro Hero4/5 already. Great way to get a lot of GoPro accessories bundled together for a reduced price. However, if looking to buy with the Hero5 bundled with the drone, the price point is around the same as some other more reputable, durable branded drones.

If you are new to the GoPro brand look elsewhere. I say that simply because the drone division has closed. So for future purposes of updates and parts availability this may become a problem. This drone is not a toy. If you understand this you will definitely lesson the chance for crashes and lost drone. Drones are in their infancy stage and sadly the Karma is subpar when compared to other drones. With that being said the Karma drone was made to take pictures and videos and by far the best drone in class when paired with the Hero 5 or 6. The Karma drone wasn’t built for racing or tricks. It performs exceptionally and can be used professionally for videos and photography paired with a great editing engineer. Make sure to read the limitations of this drone. This drone is not meant for populated environments.(neighborhood subdivisions, condos/ apartments, downtown city buildings) The signal and gps will decrease dramatically and will be prone to lost connection and possibly cause crashes and fly always due to interference of signals. Keep this this drone in open areas and away from large metal objects and remain in the line of sight Be sure to get the GoPro care plan in the result of terrible situation you will have an extra leg to stand on when you PLEAD your case and provide all the necessary documentation to GoPro. If you are a seasoned user and have GoPro products don’t hesitate just buy it. Prices are coming down and definitely worth a try. If you are new to the brand, as the price points become more reasonable it would not hurt to join the GoPro family but if you experience a fly away all of your expensive equipment is gone. Do your research, fly aways and crashes are not just a Karma problem. Good Luck!

I know arguments with Mavic. With Mavic you probably will get better picture but you can't beat what they give you with Karma package. This is very easy to fly and even gives you a simulator to guide you. A plus, definitely if this is your first time flying a drone. The Grip alone is $299.99. It also comes with a bag that you can carry around everything. It is kind of a bulky bag but it is sturdy and cushioned. I would also recommend getting the GoPro care plan for $149.99. They cover everything even if you do the damage. This drone is an investment so what better way to protect it?

I doubted buying this drone but after reading reviews and being on sale, I went for it and I don't regret it. Great drone for beginners and if you own a GoPro. It doesn't go fast or race like alot ot other drones because it's made for recording and taking pictures. Controls are easy to use and parts such as the propellers are easy to replace. Only downside to this drone is that it doesn't have sensors on it so you have to watch where you fly it but it's great

This is a great drone that is easy to fly and takes great video and pics. I had two that did t recognize the camera. So I decided to return them and bought one with a hero 6 and it works great!

Easy to use right out of the box. Anyone can fly it prettt much. Only thing is the batteries only last 18 mins each wish it could be longer.

I love my Karma. I have had it since April 2017 and have not had any issues. It isnt the best drone and does not have all of the features that my Mavik does, but it is my go to drone. I do wish the battery lasted longer also. The value of the package is great. You do get more than a drone. The controller built in screen is much better than having to connect a phone or tablet to.

I also own a phantom 3 pro for a year now. And honestly i can say the Karma is super easy to fly and fun!! I do compare both cameras and they are both neck on neck, sometimes i do think the gopro lens is a little better. But as far as drone. Its a good easy to operate drone. Maybe it doesn have the specs what a phantom 4 has but i still love it!

Overall I love this drone! Sure it does not have obstacle avoidance or a lot of newer features but for me I do not need those feature. It is very easy to fly and did really well in the crazy North Dakota winds, I flew it in 24+mph sustained wind with gusts up to 30-35 mph with no issues, although not recommended. If you just want a basic drone that is reliable then this is it. The battery life is rather poor, between 12-18 min of flight time, depending on weather conditions and what you are doing with the drone. Do yourself a favor and buy an extra battery, it is well worth it!

bought this to enhance footage of our cross country trip! This link up great with Your GoPro and gets great shots! You get more than a drone as well you get the Karma grip which is fantastic in itself. The drone is easy to learn to fly . you can practice a lot on the controller before you actually fly the drone which is crucial. The only down side to this drone is the battery life is weak about 15-20 min and I frequently forget to hit the shutter button on the controller which cost me to lose great footage , but that's more user error. All and all great product!

It has to be one of the best toy I would have gotten. Took it out for flies around town, recording trips, taking pictures, creating family memories, smooth and very fun to have. My son is only 9 and he has learned how to control it very fast and is an expert than me.

It was alright once we got the no camera issue settled (the guy at Best Buy said it had one, and it didn’t) they didn’t even sell the cheaper one so we had to buy the gopro7. (Insert angry face) so after all the updates (don’t open it and expect to fly-gonna wait at least an hour) we finally got it up in the air, only flys for approximately 20 minutes before it starts alerting for low battery. Quick charge. Easy assemble. Great picture. Easy to handle, my 10 year old took the controller for a min. Always have issues with the gopro app on our phone, so don’t count on that. Thing hit some branches about 3 ft over the top of our car, fell hit the car then Landed on the grass. Broke the landing gear and three blades. NO ONE has replacement parts locally (or in the nearest metroplex), had to wait 2 weeks to fly the thing again, Karma did send us a new landing gear free, after we realized a little crack wouldn’t allow it to even take off (of the landing gear). So if you buy this stock up on supplies, bc they told us they’re going to discontinue these things, and probably for good cause. The darn thing flys, it should be able to take more damage than that without rendering it unuseable. And GET THE INSURANCE!!!

I have to say that this is my first drone. It is so easy to fly the controller is great the camera however being a hero 5 is outdated. I would recommend going to the 7 black but if you're on a budget the Hero 5 would work just well. Though this drone for the price would be better with a camera in comparison to some on the same level it is however a very nice drone. But if looking to purchase keep in mind and the news just came out that GoPro will no longer be doing drones. As far as the controls and some of the packages with it it does pretty good for the beginner and I would say for the intermediate fly smooth handles great and I have no issues I love it.
