Customers consistently note the superb video quality and ease of use of the Max 360 Action Camera. Positive feedback also highlights the battery life, overall performance, stabilization, and water resistance. However, some users found the lens cap design challenging, and a larger screen is desired by some. The versatile mounting options are also a frequently cited advantage.

This is the first time I've ever tried the GoPro-Max 30 HD Video Camera. For those of you that are beginnings like me, I recommend taking your time to review the materials before jumping in. When operating the camera you have the ablility to secure it to a helmet, bike, or a tripod, or selfie stick. I used the extension pole that it came with that measures about 4ft. When using the GoPro Max you can take pictures and record videos in the daylight or night settings. I do recommend using an sd card that is rated at extreme, so that the camera does not overheat. Additionally, feel it's important to download Quick app from either Google Play or the App Store [for Iphone] users. The app provides the capability of assisting with editing images and videos. When recording your footage can upload to the cloud if you designate it to do so. It's able to capture images and videos pretty quickly. Your able to take the camera under water, in different climates such as mountains, desert, etc. Your also have the ability to purchase additional items for your GoPro depending on the use that you need it for. Overall nice camera and would recommend to those that are interested in having a camera that is great for outdoor use. Indoor is cool too.
Pros:
Great Quality
Voice Recording
Images
Captures Nature
Cons:
Non at the moment.

Overall a great action cam. Really love the 360 capture, and ability to then go back and frame the footage in a normal aspect ratio rotating to focus on what you want. Included mounting hardware is good to get you started mounted on a helmet or bike.
It comes with firm rubber lens caps for both camera lenses which is great for storage and for when your only using one for standard video capture. And as a bonus you get a little drawstring bag to keep it in that has a pair of small pockets in it for extra memory cards or whatever.
I appreciate the overall compact size keeping it in line with other go pro cameras so if you already have one and other mounting hardware setup, this should slip right into place just fine to expand your recording capabilities.
The Quik app is handy to work as a remote and provides that reframing I mentioned earlier. but I really cannot state how much I hate that every time I open it it keeps begging me to subscribe to their premium service. And go pro, please, bite the bullet on the extra 10 cents it would cost to pack in a longer usb cable. I can live without having a charging brick in the box, the thing is going to charge just fine off my computer when I am plugging it in to get the footage off it. But really would like it to reach a little further than a foot.

USE
The GoPro Max 360 is my first ever action camera. I’ve been eyeing them for years, so when this came up for review, I was excited to give it a try.
I wanted an action camera to use a “dashcam” for my motorcycle. I didn’t like the idea of hardwiring or semi-permanent mounting to my bike. I wanted something that was easy to mount and still gave me the option of recording video from front and/or the back. Something that could not only record rides and track days but also be just at home recording mundane day-to-day commuting. But I was unsure how an actual action camera would stand up to the rigors of motorcycling. Exposed to the elements, constant vibration from the engine, stiff motorcycle suspension tuning, the Max 360 had a lot to overcome.
The Max 360 has recorded clear video regardless of my activity. Commutes, back roads, etc. have not phased the 360. The video is clear and nearly perfectly stable, only getting upset from an unsuspecting pothole, expansion joint, or some other form of abnormality. But 99% of the time, video is rock solid. The same can be said for the automatic horizon leveling. It’s remarkable at how well it keeps the camera level. Except for sudden, hard cornering video remains perfectly flat.
I really like that this feature can be disabled if so desired. I like having it on during commutes, but it makes for a much more enjoyable video turning it off during back road rides giving you a good idea of the lean angles.
QUIK APP
The GoPro Quik app is easy to use and figure out, even for a newbie like me and with a camera that has so many options and settings. Honestly, it’s the preferred way to adjust the camera and its settings. While you can still adjust the Max 360 from the touchscreen display, using the app and a phone is so much easier. After only a few minutes with the Quik app, I felt like a pro. It is extremely easy to navigate.
The Quik app is also the preferred way to download videos from the camera as well. First the app looks for the camera via Bluetooth. Once discovered, it connects to the 360 via Bluetooth. When you ask the app to offload videos, preview videos, or do a live view, your phone connects to the camera via Wi-Fi (all of this is easily configured during the initial set-up). The phone gets a low-resolution version of what is saved on the camera for previews, then can download the high-resolution version should you choose. Accessing images and videos is quick and efficient, especially if you opt for the 5GHz Wi-Fi connection.
Speaking of the Quik app, my favorite feature of the app has to be the live preview. Once your camera is set and mounted, you can opt for the live preview option and your phone can then be used to see what the GoPro sees. The phone mimics whatever recording setting you have the GoPro set to; wide, narrow, 360, etc. Using your phone’s built-in accelerometers, you can move the phone around to see the entire view from the GoPro. So slick!!!!!
CONS
Images and videos are plenty clear at 1440p, easily able to capture license plates, but the video still falls far behind full 4k quality, especially noticeable during Hero mode (Hero mode is front camera only). There are times that I wished for higher resolution videos. In a perfect world, the GoPro would be an 8k device, not a 5.6k device. At 8k the buyer would have the option of two 4k cameras. As it stands the Max 360 can do 5.6k resolution at 30fps, but drops down to only 3k resolution at 60fps.
The Max 360 gets quite warm during use. Even when trying it out in the air-conditioned house, it still gets quite warm to the touch. I am curious to how well it will function in the 100+ degree heat of the summer.
The included 64GB micro-SD card is good for about 2hrs of recording, as is the battery. Because of the design on the GoPro, getting higher capacity batteries doesn’t appear to be an option.
FINAL THOUGHTS
Even though the Max 360 lacks true 4k cameras front and rear, images and video are still sharp. The camera has held up well in its use to date. Even with all my commutes and rides, the camera is still pristine and unscathed. The rubberized exterior appears to be doing an extremely good job at protecting the camera from the elements.
There are so many recording modes and features, I could write pages about all the different options and features. I know I didn’t touch on them a great deal here. If you have a specific or unique need for a camera the Max 360 probably has a mode or setting to suit.
The Max 360 is fulfilling its role nicely in its short time with me. It gives me all the functionality of an action camera and with an aftermarket handlebar mount, a “dash cam”, in one small, tidy, and light package.

The GoPro 360 Max is here....Again. But Better

The GoPro 360 is here…again. But this time it’s better! I don’t really know why the first 360 did not have a standard tripod mount on it, but I’m very glad this v2 does. Along with that, the new 360 uses a new, and better, battery. I personally don’t have the first 360 max from gopro, but my friend does and I asked him about what he thought about it. First thing he said was the battery isn’t great. So I’m glad to hear GoPro addressed that and put a better battery in their new version.
Other changes seem to be mostly software related or mobile app. Though I’m not a big user of the app, (I tend to do my editing on my expensive video editing PC vs my phone) I do still use the app for the remote use as well as the ability to whip together a quick edit for sharing with friends or whatever. I don’t love the workflow of editing on the app and I do feel limits a lot, as someone who is used to using pro editing software, but by no means is it bad. Think fast food versus nice restaurant, you’re still getting food. And for the average user, the app will work just fine.
So besides the new upgrades to the 360 max, I also love just shooting in 3D. Photos can easily be made into amazing panos, self shot videos on a locked down shot can suddenly have movement and follow a subject around the room and the automatic removal of the selfie stick is amazing. It’s really a pretty clean removal. There’s a few frames here and there that need work, but especially for something quick, it works great. I was really hoping to use this camera on a snowboarding trip, but it arrived just a little too late, so instead I just used it walking around my yard. It wasn’t exactly EXTREME SPORTS but I was still able to test the footage and see how it performs.
I gotta say, the footage looked really good straight out of camera. And there are settings to shoot in a flat raw type format as well if you want to handle the color work in post. I haven’t tried it yet to test the picture profile but I’m sure it would only up the image quality even more.
I definitely think the new battery is helping, I didn’t deplete it fully but shot about 20 minutes and messing with the menus etc and didn’t run out of battery, it looked about a quarter left. I have a hero 12 camera as well and the batteries are always gonna be a talking point, but the bottom line is these cameras are doing a lot and 30 plus minutes of footage per battery is pretty good in my opinion. I just get in the habit of buying spares and a charger. Speaking of, charging is done via USB-c and the port is inside the battery compartment. I don’t know if you can use these plugged in, I assume so, but obviously that would not be water proof or dust proof with the door flap open. So only in controlled environments.
OVERALL I really like this subtle redesign of an already really sweet camera. I think the hardware upgrades are great, and the app updates and user friendly features are nice for the average user. One nitpicky thing, I love that they include lens caps, but I thought I was gonna break them trying to remove them. I’d love to see that be a little easier. I also don’t love trying to edit the footage with their software and I really wish they would start making plugins for major editing software, but I’m sure that might exist already or soon by the time you read this. But the new AI features and selfie stick removal works really well and I can’t wait to add this camera to my bag on my future adventures. Like anything, there’s a few faults here and there or things that make me roll my eyes, but the image quality, ease of use, ability to go on rugged adventures and keep on ticking, and so much more is why I’ll always have a gopro in my camera bag.

SET UP
Set up is easy, with everything almost self explanatory. The lenses come protected with snug rubber covers that are almost too secure to remove. My GoPro came with the selfie stick and a helmet mount. The GoPro has the standard tripod mounting socket while having the folding ears bracket which makes it easy to place adapters with it. The helmet mount for example, comes with he perfectly curved attachment with strong adhesive. The mount attaches perfectly on top of my helmet surface and is pretty secure up there using the ears mount with screw, without having to put anything complicated on my helmet. The camera button is conveniently placed on top so I can easily press record even on the go. The selfie stick is a perfect complement to the camera. With the same mounting style as the helmet adapter, the camera screws onto the stick and it extends to enable a hide and wide coverage of my recording. All of this, the camera, the mount and the stick are all well-made, making me feel secure about my camera wherever I go, whether it is staying in place mounted or how the camera will be exposed to elements. Maybe the only concern will be the scratching of the lens which protrude from the camera body. But that's the trade off for having the widest view.
OUTPUT QUALITY
The quality of my footages are what to expect from a GoPro. But the real draw is the 360, something you cannot just easily get from other high action cameras. I have tried other brands and they would rather capture 180 views while the output is not as hi-res as this camera. I usually keep my camera on 360-- that's most of what this is for me. I capture a whole fun bike ride with the kids, and it captures everything around me, enabling me to get footage of everyone, regardless of whether one is in front, one at the back or even when one overtakes. Same goes for my use of a selfie stick on a hike.
APP USE
App setup is easy as it easily detects and connects to my phone. It also recognizes new files and it transfers to my phone instantly. Of course my recordings are useless without an output and the Quik app makes me pick and choose how to edit my my videos with ease. First off, I can lock or unlock my direction and horizons. So I can easily keep the camera POV forward no matter how I move my head, because I know I need to look around the safety of my other riders. The quality doesn't suffer and the view is very stable. I can also choose to track a specific subject AT A GIVEN TIME which is key. At each point, I can focus on kid number 1, then move onto kid number 2. And while reviewing footage, I can take snapshots of specific frames too. Also, aspect ratios, quality type and even filters can easily be altered. This makes it easy to edit and share my videos, so they just don't stay in my camera for months before anyone sees them.
As a dad of 4 young kids, who loves to do activities, this is the perfect camera to keep my memories and share them at TV time with the family. I haven't even seen what this can do at my other more intense activities, and it's already showing much use just with my usual family stuff. I'm sure this will come in more handy when summer comes.

I do a LOT of trail hiking during my off hours and have always wanted to be able to get a good body-cam style video of my "adventures". This camera allows me to do just that, giving me all angles with just one camera, without having to constantly adjust point of view, and does it without showing my extension pole in the video as well.
I wear the extension pole in a molle chest pack, which allows the cameras to see both me, to the sides of me, as well as in front of me and all angles in between. The only "blind spot" is directly behind me.
I'm able to trudge through the woods on my favorite trail systems and have a full 360 degree video of everything I see, everything I hear (it has 6 microphones!), and anything I encounter. This would have been handy in the past as I've encountered some somewhat aggressive characters while on the trails and would have loved to have had a video recording of the encounter to give to the police!
Other super- useful features are the slow-motion capture , single-lens capture (like the HERO cameras), and the capability to capture video in 1080p, full widescreen or 1440p scales. Image stabilization is also available which does an outstanding job of taking shaking/stepping issues out of the video and makes them buttery smooth.
It's waterproof to 15ft so you don't have to worry about being rained on or if it gets splashed on , and the battery is made to perform even in the coldest of weather.
This camera is like having a multi-camera setup all in one small portable unit !

Go pro for your 360 needs

The GoPro Max 360 is the next in its flagship that offers everything you know about GoPro with an easy to use app for quicker streamline video editing. But is it more hype than promise?
Out of the box you get the basic needs for a decent set up minus the SD card. First thing i did after start up was download the app and update the camera's firmware. After doing so i proceed to charge the GoPro up and noticed a couple of things worth noting. First the unit indicator light never changes color to let you know when its fully charged, it just always stays red. After full charge the indicator light still stayed on for 15 minutes and was draining the battery down from a full charge down to 90%. I had actually had to disconnect and re-connect the battery, this has been happening randomly and is never consistent. Also for those of you that actual mess with GoPros you also know they are very common for draining batteries period. Even with the unit completely off, after 24 hours of sitting and not being used the battery was completely dead. To see if the GoPro was the issue I fully charged the battery and with it removed i let it set for another 24 hours outside of the GoPro and after insertion of the battery it still remained at a full charge. Anyways moving on, the lcd gives you quick touch screen actions like 360 mode, camera settings, etc. Through the app you are supposed to have the ability to quick edit, which you can. However download times are horrendous and editing capability is limited resulting in you having to load your videos to your desktop for better editing features. The auto video editing feature is kind of cool, where it will take photos or videos you have and analyze them in to a edited video with music. The high action speed video footage is very good as its stability controls do a very good job at keeping your shots very smooth and in control. The 360 footage offers a variety of cool features like motion lock, where you can choose a fixated position or have the camera rotate with the pitch of your turns. Built in voice activation means with just a simple voice gesture you can have your GoPro take photos for you.
After testing this GoPro and even comparing it to other similar cameras i own in this category im very hard pressed to make this my go to camera. The battery issues still haven't been resolved so pull your battery out after every usage or charge time, run time on 1080p at max 60 frames yields about 120 mins, if your lucky. While 360 footage run time is anywhere between 45 to 60 minutes. The app is very basic and almost feels like it just migrated from its alpha to beta phase as features are very limited and some choose to work properly when you want them too. Case in point, bluetooth from my smartphone to the camera never worked properly through the app which meant not only could i not turn on the camera wirelessly through the app but i also had connection issues about 75% of the time. And when going through GoPro's trouble shooter, i came to fine out i had to cycle my bluetooth and the power to the camera every time i wanted to connect. At the end of the day GoPro was a monster back in the day but i feel their cameras still have unresolved issues that just seem to never get taken care of.
